There’s something that puts someone off about this Wike guy . Niggggga spent most of his days as governor attacking buhari and the north ( irrespective of the party card they were carrying at that time; APC or PDP) , the north showed him pepper at the primaries and all he has at his disposal is to chop and chop more before he leaves the center stage .

Honestly Nigeria as a whole dodged a bullet having someone like him on the ballot .

Imagine a governor leaving his office in less than a year appointing 14,000 aides who will get paid one way or another . This guy would’ve been a menace at the national level. We would’ve wished for a rebirth of Jonathan presidency under him sef If by chance he becomes president

He didn't answer the security question very well and detailed unlike the way he answered it in Havard..

Below was what he said concerning security.

Peter Obi needs more media training on 1 on 1 interviews as it is his weak point.

Sure

Firstly, he made mention of building and restructuring the security force, establishing other chain of commands for monitoring

But how would it be funded?

Secondly, he preferred no solution on oil theft.

There is domestic and foreign collusion; I agree. So how exactly does he plan to stop it?

Rivers state must stop bending backwards and allowing them have their way.

The funding will come from cutting cost of governance and removal of fuel subsidy.. Atleast that's what I believe.

But he hasn't been asked that question and might give a different reply to that.

As for the second question.. I believe the restructuring of our security architecture should help plug that gap. The thing about oil theft is we've currently have our security personnel colluding with external people to move this amount of oil.

Before with just creek boys stealing, we were still hitting the required 2m barrels average daily.

So what I believe would be a return to that at first and then reducing the theft to the barest minimum by ensuring any drop in pressure is investigated and addressed.
So even if there's oil theft, it would be minimal and not what we have now under APC.

Atleast this is what I'm thinking.. Again he could answer in a different way when asked.

Also I believe he would make NNPC actually do their job.

What I am interested in is how Obi would handle the environmental degradation in the ND.. Who will he hold accountable to drive that process?

Obi is poor in 1 on 1 interviews.. He needs training badly.

But if you listen to his speeches, you'll see his strength in that.

So what his media team has started doing is drop those speeches on twitter and since that started, people finally understand his plans.

you know nothing, jon snow.

my original decision to ignore you was the right one. the best one can get from you is obi levels of ignorance

EVERYBODY's hand is in oil theft

it has been amusing watching some posters run around like headless chickens because a picture of a tapped pipeline was posted to SM.
tony elumelu has been crying about oil theft for the past 2 years. google capital of oil theft and you will see articles going back to 2013.

oil theft and pipeline vandalization predated gej - but gej made a fantastically bad decision when he gave ex miltants pipeline protection contracts - he gave them the map of nigerias oil pipelines

that map has probably been disseminated copied and shared everywhere - so a smart person will know ehere to tap from

everything issue in nigeria is really a question of will - which can be compromised because everyones hand is in it

politicians, communities, oil workers, military

you cannot do any work in any ND community without first settling them. do you actually think i can go to the vicinity of a pipeline, amend and adjust it without first engaging the village chiefs?

on the side of the oil companies, they are fully aware their lines are being tapped, but they have accepted there is nothing they can do about it. same way ekedc and co know people are stealing electricity. these industries take metering seriously. there is no way you will not see the losses along the line during reconciliation

same goes for evacuation. take your small vessel through any waterway in the ND and you will be immediately accosted by different vigilante, military , community etc . there is no way you can move a tanker through nigerias waters without multiple monitoring parties being aware.

there was a thread some years back in politics where a vessel stealing product caught fire and burned for several days. it wsas there all over SM, in plain sight and nothing happened.

you saw the ship paraded by team Tompolo? that is one of several issues - person did not settle , or Tompolo wants to get into the good graces of the govt as there is now small SM noise about oil theft. it is also ironic because the last i checked, Tompolo is a wanted Fugitive, but what do i Know?

The funding will come from cutting cost of governance and removal of fuel subsidy.. Atleast that's what I believe.

But he hasn't been asked that question and might give a different reply to that.

when you say cost of governance, what do you mean? you think obi can cut the bloated salaries of NASS? how? or will he scrap government parastatls? or cut staff? believe it or not, corruption in the civil service started with muritala mohammed when he arbitarily sacked several levels of the civil service. those who survived the purges saw the fates of their ogas and started stealing to hedge against the same thing happening to them. i have an idea of one of the things that needs to be done with regards to cost of governance, but how such can be adopted in nigerian civil service remains to be seen

let him cut subsidy, and all you shiny eyed youths will turn on him faster than you did on gej - especially after he deploys the same police and soldiers to keep the peace. it is always amusing hearing people say cut subsidy cut subsidy. aviation is dead in nigeria because kerosene s not subsidized . cost of food stuffs and business operations has gone up because diesel is n750 or more. what do you think will happen to cost of transport, cost of operations of small businesses, and the knock on effect? you starry eyed obidienst will be the first to start sharing petrol was 165 now 800.

ironically the issue of subsidy is another issue of will. one we thought buhari would be able to sort as he had no business ties to hold him. but he had tribaistic ties. but as buhari could not even get ONE person or entity punished for the adulterated fuel that crippled this nation - here we are

talk with people in the industry and they will tell you product is being diverted to niger and other countries. but it is the same issue. everyone along the line is compromised. military, customs.

the short term solution is to get a buba marwa /dora akunyuli type boss for most of these regulatory govt organs. one who has the character and discipline to get the job done and not get greedy.

i do not expect any coherent responses from you - but please have a go all the same.

Hope to my God to look out for me and watch this country turn to whatever it wants to turn to.

Obi is just telling stories. Oil theft needs the cooperation of both the oil firms, to the security to even the local communities and even the foreign clients.

How do you even start to address this issue?

A lot of these Obidients move like Gen Zs with heads in the clouds.

Where do you even begin to cut cost of Governance? In a country where at least 50-60% of the population live in abject poverty, and without an effective social welfare programme in sight, only a suicidal President would be looking to fix inefficiencies in the system.

Those inefficiencies are how people are being settled to keep them from rioting. For example, I'm 100% sure that someone like Onyemaair lacks any skills that can transfer into gainful private sector employment.

If Government decides to sack all the Onyemaairs in the civil service, you can expect civil unrest in no time. So they keep him and his friends employed in a department that has no work to do, probably led by a reporting line of bureaucrats each with 10 fingers and 10 toes and two straws in the cookie jar.

Any President that isn't campaigning primarily on a platform of regional and/or state fiscal and political independence, is just coming to steal - because there is nothing else to do when you get to Abuja and jam the vested interests.

Nigeria is finished in its current state. Its a fait acommpli. The country as we know it is highly unlikely to exist in 50 years from now, so the current bickering between all these parties is both hilarious and tragic in equal measure.

Wise people should be campaigning for restructuring or even peaceful disintegration, because it IS going to happen regardless, whether we like it or not.

It's really just a case of how much bloodshed it costs.

the foreign oil firms have mostly pulled out of the creeks. it is now the problem of our indigenous oil firms. which may be why we are not hearing communities complaining about oil spills that much anymore. Nigerians know the score

So a ship capsized in Africa, killing more than 1800 people and it happened 20 years ago, yet we dont know about it?

Or rather, it never made waves and news like the Titanic?

There should be a distinction between playing party politics and actual governance , I know u like him as ur governor but trust me when I say he would've been a terrible president. He would've been Jonathan Promax
