raumdeuter: This is so correct. Initially no matter the amount of school fees you can pay part like one-third then you can get your CAS and when you get there you hustle to pay up but the home office has recently review that. You now have to pay 50% of the total school fees, just assuming someone with fee of 23000 pounds trying to pay half or even 18,000 trying to pay half, that is only school fees excluding TB, Covid 19, POF and if you are going to source the POF from Fintech then be prepared to pay % of the money availed which will dip in to more cost, etc. The cost to JAPA now is astronomical and will be worse next year when the policy on number of dependents will be implemented. Anyone trying to JAPA should just start now and probably would have escape the hurdles of the new policies and tightening of immigration laws. Funnily with the rate Nigerians take the JAPA now especially UK it is only a matter of time the UK govt will throw in the spanner on the wheel. 1 Like |

Segedinho: That your G.P.A is not something people accidentally come by in engineering. You must be brilliant so i will advise you not to allow Naija to limit your potential. Even though you are living comfortably now you have the potential to do even much better if you relocate to the right place. Then think of your kids because the Nigeria you see now might not be the Nigeria you will see in 15-20 years. |

afrodoc2: The embolden Doc is my biggest concern for Sege and it is coming a place of sincerity..Sege has what many foreign countries are looking for. With Sege’s GPA, getting grad school for Yankee would have been quite easy and nailing a Grad Assistant gig would have been assured if he had applied 1-3 years after graduating naija uni. This isn’t about agenda for or against Japa in Sege’s case for me. This is more of exploiting the potentials Sege has to the fullest because that Naija setting will not give it to him. Even schools go rush am for Ph.D. after him finish masters. Foreign countries have dedicated huge amounts of funds for STEM related courses and research and they will go at any length to keep the best heads. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Segedinho: They made a costly mistake of returning to their state after graduation. If u have a foreign degree in Naija , na to stay put in Lagos ; bus some fancy suit, go for interviews, mesmerize them with some 4cked up American corporate strategies , and get a senior managerial role . Before u know , they will start coming to town driving their Landcruiser prado in ur face . I know someone personally who had his masters in the UK , came back around 2014, today he’s an AGM in one of the new banks in naija , gets paid close to 50m Per annum. He sees people trying to japa (especially to the UK) as fools who will learn the hard way 2 Likes 1 Share |

raumdeuter:I swear, US wey be like blackhole wey anything fit lost inside, have a friend's father that has been illegal there since like 2004, doubt the man has his papers till now and he's still there. From the moment you land you should have a strategy for staying back or moving to some other country laid out. |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc2: 4:25pm On Oct 15, 2022 |
Segedinho: That is why you have to relocate to the right place. And the people close to me that moved to Canada did not do so on student visa. They got jobs within a brief period of time and for a good number of them they even started with better jobs than they had in Nigeria in terms of prestige and all that. Don't narrow your search to only student visa and you probably need to spend more time in those visa threads than on sports thread and election thread. After all you already know which club you support and who you will vote for 10 Likes 2 Shares |
