It is very annoying when some Yorubas claim that Tinubu or that Yorubas built Lagos, Lagos was FCT for 77 years built by the sweat and resources of every tribe even before Tinubu became governor, just Imagine Abuja that has been FCT for just over 30 something years, then the Gbagyi people begin to lay claims to the development of Abuja and insulting other tribes that they are Lazy, wouldn't it be an insult to every other tribe in Nigeria...

And please don't bring the bullshit of Enugu or Calabar as FCT, please state the number of years they were...
Guy the matter tire me o, Lagos was even finer in the 60’s than it is now, did Tinubu build Lagos in the 60’s? I don’t know how people reason sometimes.

cry cry baby. I have not stereotyped anyone. After all they are not the only traders in lagos and many of them also work in corporate world . Some of una want to dish out what you cant take in your places. You can own lands and build houses in kano, lagos, abuja, ph etc. abeg show us one property owned by an outsider in south east. You dont even sell lands easily to outsiders. Abeg give us a break. The taxes are too much agreed, but you think you can use violence in another’s mans land Big mistake that may have repercussions

Anybody wey follow ibos drag to buy land for east or contest election, dem no go tell am to go back hin papa land, very unaccommodating people

Touts increased their activities in Alaba market and that's the principal reason.

Lagos State government has to deal with the threat of touts and jobless youths, otherwise massive disasters are waiting to happen.

In the recent years, touts have set up road blocks within and around Alaba international market to exhort the traders there. Mind you, Alaba market has Nigerians of all tribes either owning shops or plazas there, carrying out their businesses.

Aside from the touts, other extortioners are the local government staff, the police, army and Navy. The touts also tell you that they represent the Oba.

The major areas of contention are Volkswagen bus stop, Iyana Iba, the front of Ojo local government, armoured tank junction right in front of the main gate, St. Peter's junction and the food market.

Over the years, touts made it their full time business to extort money front trucks laden with containers, 20/40ft. They stoptbe trucks in front of Volkswagen and collect what they call Navy, Oba, Army, Police and theirs. The charges differ for the 20ft and 40ft containers. They change the rates at will. No truck can leave that point without payment.

Next the truck moves to the front of the local government, the armoured tank, etc for more payments.

For those who carry their goods by hand, it is stress when they arrive at Iyana Iba. Touts are there, forcing everyone to pay ground money.

When you sum this up with the problems with the economy, you find that the cost of doing business in Alaba is overboard.

These touts force everyone, irrespective of tribe to pay. No one is free from them. Their rates are never stable and they refuse to listen to the vouce of reasoning.

Bro not only alaba, everywhere in lagos, those same containers you mentioned if they get to mainland one down to ojuelegba every stronghold of men will collect their share, whether diesel truck, spare parts truck, tiles, window blinds,as long as the load heavy you go pay reach your location..it is what it is .

I am sure you are aware that Ibos and Hausas pay local government taxes and federal and state taxes in Lagos. So why create an illegal agbero tax again. Lagos State should create a civilised tax system and stop touts from collecting illegal fees.

This tax matter don tey ohh and its deeper than what most of you guys think, govt is actually scared of most of those men just like bandits in the north,if they collect those taxing jobs from them, what will happen will be unpredictable, except govt wipe them all out.. there re some things better left unsaid cos na open social media we dey..

My brother.... It's so sad.
Do you know the worst part of it is that.
Even an individual that comes to the market to buy maybe a television of fridge with his private car will still be forced to pay money to those touts when they see you carrying those appliances in your own private car.....

Man, that is the worst of it.

I'm certain that if this miscreants who are claiming lagosians experience such treatment, they would react in a very condescending manner.

I really don't blame any of them
They think through there anus after consuming and rendering there brains useless with Igbo and weed and zazu bitters

It happens in the whole lagos except for the tushest parts like lekki,ikoyi,vi,surulere,obudu.. every other place na tax.. whether lagosians or no lagosians..its deeper than it seems, its been happening for decades, i wont go into details on whats been done to curtail them in some areas, but the truth is it will take a while for them to be eradicated fully

You idiots keep re writing history!!! Your people were no match for the O.p.c guys, your elders were running around summoning peace meeting after 3 days, your natural chestbeating trait would always be your downfall. You can't even fight ordinary touts, how can you fight OPC in their hey days? I can't just post some sensitive pics here because amplifying violence is not cool. Your people were no match for the OPC guys that time. Do not ask for a repeat of that scenario, respect your host and lock your leaking mouth you use to abuse anyone not on same wavelength with you.
lols, keep telling yourself that if it helps you sleep cheesy, being neither Igbo nor Yoruba and having no bone in the fight apart from sanity, rule of law, justice and public safety puts me in a position where my testimony is more reliable than your bias testimony, it boils down to this, without government support, if those traders were to mean to deal with those agberos they'd be dead within a week, but keep shouting your lily livered pussy-minded voice hoarse that it would be different from my postulations cheesy

that is according to omo Igbo.
Awori, ijebu, egun, ilaje and egbas are the true owners of Lagos.
Any Yorubas from neighboring states can claim it,it is non of ibos business .

There are also 5 Owu Yoruba Settlements in Lagos State unless you have already included Owu with Egbas but they are not really Egba
