1)Why not build the duplex in Germany.
2) the money that was used in traveling can be used to start something here and make same or better momey like you doing.
Every body approach is different, you can't have 10m and use it all for student visa abroad ( Nigeria no worst reach that level ) .
Last last we go all dey alit

I think you need to read my earlier thread which I created few months I left Nigeria.
But to save you the stress.

1. The aim is not to develope another country better than yours, but to make money there and invest in your poor country so that when you retire, you return back and enjoy your investment.
2. Not everbody is trained and skillful in business, and with the situation of the country now, your business can easily crumple but you won't understand what I am saying because you are probably not into business.
3. I didn't have money before I travelled, I was only teaching Maths and Physics in a private secondary school and earning peanuts with alot of stress.

Leaving Nigeria for Germany is something I will do over and over again if I have the same opportunity.

the day I discovered this fact, that the richest people in every street I've lived in made their money here in Naija, na then I realise say money dey this country

In reality, each country is designed to favour

1) First their citizens : this is why the richest Nigerians still live in and made their money in Nigeria.

2) LEGAL foreign residents that can do whatever their citizens can't or willing to do e.g Expatriates that can build infrastructure which our citizens can't build or young Nigerian women who are qualified and willing to work as Nurses in UK when most most young British women prefer ICT works or even going to clubs, parting and collecting benefits.

3) ILLEGAL residents who are forced to work 2-4 jobs to earn enough wages to live comfortably.

Majority of Nigerians end up in the third category but some can manipulate their ways to move to either the first or second category.

In UK and other European countries, the system is designed in such a way that even a struggling illegal immigrant can get basic things of life , only that they will have to work harder.

He actually tried severally to immigrate to the UK via several means but was denied, hence he has tried every means to deceive people with good intentions to travel to UK.

What people usually fall for is the glitter they think the west is made of when it has its own many problems.

Why are far right parties beginning to dominate in Europe and america? Because local populations are getting threatened by immigration, which is linked to availability of economic opportunities for them, before you talk about misplaced fears about adulteration of the cultures.

The west is broke and can't sustain spendings like it used to. Africans are at the recieving end.

No part of this world guarrantees a sure roi like nigeria.

Our educational system is not rotten. It is the best in the world. They are brainwashing you. I paid 5,000 naira to study in Uniben and in my area of study I am 100 times better than my harvard and yale counterpart. Funny I didn't even graduate. When I got to America I found out people earning $150,000 can't even pay college tuition for their children. Nigeria has the cheapest and best education

I can see your quality of education in this your statement grin

You are "100 times better than my havard and yale counterpart" Oga how did you reach this conclusion? grin na where and how una do the test where you follow get this results? grin

In your original post you even said "... After graduation all of them will do menial jobs..." Oga if your level of education was as good as you stated you would have also seen the loophole in this your statement. grin

I no know who provoke or touch you wey make you dey para. But for the record you are not required to pay the full tuition before leaving. Most people I know paid around 30 percent then did student job to pay the rest.

Secondly, not everyone that went to study abroad went as self sponsored. There are a lot of people going there with scholarship. Maybe if you had a better education you would have figure some of these out and included it in your writing. grin no ooh I no dey jab you just using your own words. grin

Well, I don't know about the UK.
But this is the kind of shitty article that was discouraging me from traveling out of Nigeria until I came back to my senses.
This year is the third year I left Nigeria for my studies in Germany and I have already roofed and plastered my duplex in Nigeria by the grace of God.
Now, the question is could I have done that if I kept wasting my time earning peanuts in Nigeria?

I am even tired of advising people to go outside and study, don't go.
Remain in Nigeria and keep earning peanuts hoping to be imaginary Dangote someday grin

Lies...
You failed in Nigeria because you refused to humble yourself and do the type of jobs you are doing in Germany...

Lol grin grin grin My brother, there are many frustrated Nigerians in abroad…especially ipog members. Many of these frustrated Nigerians are not finding life easy abroad, hence their misplaced anger at Nigeria..instead of them to hold their host government to account. Lol grin grin
I never know how fortunate I was to be a Nigerian until I travelled abroad and saw that our government even offer us almost free university education compared to what the so called west like USA, Canada e.t.c offer their citizens. Guy, if your parents don’t have, na student loan you go borrow take go school and it will take years for you to pay back with interests.
Indeed, every country around the world have their challenges, and Nigeria is not left out. This is what most Nigerians don’t get….our country needs all her citizens to put in the work to make it a better place for all….it’s not just work for politicians alone.

God bless Nigeria and the next would-be president.

After carefully going through this thread...
I can safely deduce....

1: those for staying in Nigeria aren't currently doing any major business in Nigeria or what they call business is a shop and goods at best.
Any business person in this country now, will never advise anybody to invest in naija.
Banks are currently folding up internally, all sectors have collapsed. We are virtually printing money to spend on budget in this country.

2 : Those who are for going to UK, are too busy with work to reply anybody. I don't blame them, everybody talks of tax....I always tell em, if you make the money, you will happily pay the tax.

3: On my part, only somebody who has never lived outside naija thinks there's anything worth enjoying in this shithole

Nigerians paying between £11,000 to £15,000 to study in the UK are wasting their money. This new day slavery has to stop. When they get to the UK. they find out that 90% of Britons can't even afford to pay out of their pocket. UK. citizens access loans to be able to study. If you tell white UK. citizens to pay cash for their education over 90% of them will become illiterates because they don't have the money. Their parents too are unable to raise such amount for school. They are unable to raise the outrageous amount Nigerians happily pay to study there.

After Nigerians complete their study there the only jobs available to them are menial jobs which barely pay the bills. What is even more alarming now is the the UK. government now allows you to bring your spouse and kids during the duration of your study. Your spouse will work round the clock to pay the bills while you are busy studying. This is to further drain the little amount you work and make sure you don't send money home. Their degrees are worthless. Many Nigerians who studied in UK and later found themselves in Canada and America are doing odd jobs.

Nigeria has the best schools in the world. A graduate in Uniben can be compared to an Oxford graduate if not better but we have been programed to hate our own. After studying in the UK. you find out nothing has change and you didn't receive any new knowledge as their study is below par. That's why most Nigerians top their classes abroad.

I would advise Nigerians to instead use the amount you intend to pay to a UK. school to set up and business and within the next 7 years you will become the new Dangote instead of being stucked in Canada or America doing odd jobs

Education system in uk is one of the best in the world. My problem with most of Nigerians studying in Uk is not applying for irrelevant programme. Msc Project Management is one of them. Getting admission for Msc in professional or Research programmes is very difficulty. Those programmes are regulated.
US is using Nigeria to boost her econnomy.
Bolded. You are goofed. Those who are rating universities are not stupid.
If you want to study in UK, go for professional courses so you can build your career.
Regarding investment in Nigeria. Most people are relocating because of job, financial and life insecurity.
