That’s because the coach has reverting to the annoying long-ball tactic.
I also don’t know why most of the players are having issues with controlling ball.

Long ball should be a plan B for God's sake. These girls have demonstrated they could do something decent with the ball on ground. Na wa for this coach o.

I was perturbed really. Why exactly were we committing too many players forward expecially after we were lucky to go ahead?

All we needed was to be more organized defensively and hit them on counter attack; a strategy we have an advantage in.

Very wet field.
Match was delayed due to a thunderstorm and so the playing conditions will be tough.

The pitch is wet. I initially was shouting while watching, but later discovered the pitch is largely responsible for some of the ball control issues.

They just need to calm down and play their game. They have been nervy all half and still came out with a draw.

The pitch sef, is another thing, where were you watching it, cos I don't see where the US scored us
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by oloriooko(m): 2:49pm On Oct 21, 2022
Our gals should put the pace of the 17 shirt into use, the US back 3 cannot match her for pace
Our midfield is in total disarray and the right side is over loaded by US
Using long balls is the best option for us as US has taken charge of the midfield
I wish them the best, we are proud of them gals

Our defence is on a nervous breakdown. The midfield is like one of those amusement parks in the USA, and the Americans are using it well to stroll. Ajakaye lacks end product, sincerely. Her pace is covering for her. Bello lacks pace, but has vision. I don't like their dependency on this wingplay, but so far, it's really causing some trouble for USA.

For now, nobody can match Jackson from our side. We no get any Ucheibe here, sadly. I talked about Omilana having her first test here and it's obvious so far. The wing the pk came from is a weakness for team USA. The coach hasn't even noticed that so far. Smh.

Folorunsho should talk with Omilana. These mistakes between them will cost us this game if they don't.

Regarding defending Setpieces or throwing, i noticed 3 of our players were just looking, interested more in keeping a useless line than challenging a white shirt. They rather block omilana's view than mark a white shirt. Emmanuel has been okay going forward. But poor when the attack us.

The US coach seems to have realized that we have a weak midfield, and opted to play with 3 at the back and 5 in the midfield, hence the reason Nigeria is being overwhelmed.
My concern is the coach might not have an answer to this and it may be a tougher second half if nothing is done to wrestle back control from the Americans.

Our coach no sabi read game. His usa counterpart switched her formation twice and he didn't even notice. I guess shouting like incredible hulk has overwhelmed his tactical abilities.

No I think we have just been making poor passes. If they can settle down and play their game we will win this

I have said it before... Nigerian coaches don't know how to "pack the bus"...

and from what I'm seeing its because they don't know how to use and play to formations... Its as if they just told them to go and play football...

sometimes only 1 defender at the back or 2 defenders..

when we were leading we should have changed to a back 5 or 5 defenders I mean central defenders or at worst 4 defenders some midfielders should have dropped to defense..

Like it was so obvious.

We allowed them too much space.

We should have just played from the back. Leave Ajakaye and Bello up front. The US are deficient defensively and we would have taken advantage of that.

It was even more ridiculous cause it would take more time for us to rearrange defensively cause of the nature of the pitch.

Instead we would sometimes have just 2 players at the back. Let's hope for a better second half

The US coach has done her homework well- she must have noticed that our players love shooting from outside the box, so anytime Ajakaye or Bello want to shoot, a US player is always on hand to block those shots

The man suppose see say if we have two permanent DMs after we scored would have killed their middle runs. But he's rather concerned with how Adeshina and Edafe shoots from the byline. Na that Gk i dey pity now.

I know he will sha calm the girls but Bello and Ajakaye need overlapping defenders right now. Choke that middle.

Ajakaye is looking tired already... and we are not creating chances like the previous matches... hopefully they score because its looking as if we won't score from open play... I hope they prove me wrong...

Instead of passing to an open player, Edafe prefers to try to dribble out of a tight spot angry
Man, we have a long way to go in instilling basic footie intelligence in most of our players

Midfield issue thats why I was concerned about today's game, we focus on wings but any team that controls the midfield will starve us from our major attacking strength.

It's not football intelligence they need it's football selflessness they need and not holding on to the ball for long.
