You cannot win with these betting companies. The house always wins

This is also why our bet9ja guy entered lasg House of reps. To ensure he can manage the govt oversight

It’s people who don’t know this that run into financial mess while gambling . Growing up I knew a lot of baba’s that play what we call “pool” …. The legit predict draws of matches being played in championship , league one , league two , Australian league etc.

These babas don’t run into financial ruin like young boys today are; maybe because they are reasonable enough to see gambling as a hobby and not a means to get out of poverty. U will see them sit at the pool shop studying chats and forecasting .

I still maintain it’s the poverty , joblessness and the get rich quick syndrome of today’s youth that’s responsible for their problem with betting .

This makes more sense. Have a commission to look cases of fraud and refusing to pay winnings not banning it totally but in fairness many US states also outlaw gambling

Betting has been legal in Nigeria since I could remember ; that’s how baba Adebutu and Ayooku ( his friend ) made their first big money before they diversified into other business concerns .

I dont know what seeun was driving at but when you want to do a project. Its better to get local people involved because of the trickle down effect of the money. Its better for say 10billion to rotate inside Anambra among the people there

Unlike what the Chinese do where even the laborers and food vendors will be imported from China

Thats why all those who even steal money from govt should be made to invest it locally in Nigeria not shipping it abroad creating economy for some people abroad

Thanks Egbon, your explanation is understandable.

The bolded is what actually confusing me, I don't how they're even related.

I like that part, states should generate money internally to supplement FG allocation, Act with the mindset that FG allocation will finish soon

His regime might be hated because of it, but future governors will enjoy the revenue

Oga ibime can you please explain in local man understanding

Any other person can help Sha, I only know ibime as an economist here.

Tinubu's manifesto

Basically, within the financial boundaries permitted by the budgetary reform he plans to pursue, he wants to embark on a National Infrastructural development campaign. Now, I am not sure if the budgetary reform is same as the National infrastructure campaign because that is how it reads in the screen shot attached, I imagine they should be different because budgetary reforms need to go through the house/ senate for approval.

Hopefully, the infrastructural campaign includes integrating our highways into a system that connects. It's not just about building Highways, we have to find a system that connects them across the country, just like we have the US Interstate System her in the States.

He can pursue this in numerous ways. He can increase the % allocated to ministries he is targeting (ministry of transport, aviation and power) and reduce allocation to other ministries, commission/ federal parastatals. Or he can flat out increase the total budget to reflect the increased allocation.

As for funding? While the screen shot did not address it, I imagine he will have to borrow. Our borrowing policies have been a huge part of the problem bedeviling Nigeria. Like Dayo said, We borrow money and borrow everything alongside the money which is counter productive for our economy.

Thanks sir, Good one

Yeah, about the borrowing, he wants the legislative to suspend the limits on government spending, which is not good.

He said he will suspend the limits on spending. He actually has a point

We cant achieve so much because there's a limit on what we can budget. An example is education.
The figure is paltry because its budget is limited.

I guess thats the angle he is coming from, and he's right.

How he hopes to fund it is where your worries comes up

This is why I said in my previous post that I wasn't sure the first screen shot captured the budgetary reform he is planning to pursue.

While infrastructural development is quite expensive, it is dangerous to suspend limits on government spending in Nigeria. We are talking about a country struggling with widespread corruption, revenue generation, foreign trade, high debts and a 20.5% inflation rate. If he succeeds in suspending limits to spending, look for State government to follow suit and the rest will be history. We are already struggling with accountability, it will just get worse.

I passed through the bridge on a daily basis. As at today when I passed there’s nothing to panic about . The fishermen were still fishing as usual and the water level hasn’t risen beyond what I’ve seen in the past .

If water wan rise, no be third mainland own. Begore third mainland rise reach that level , the whole of Lagos island like Adeniji , Ilubirin, Marina and co would’ve been submerged sef …. Even the people living in Ilaje Bariga, Makoko etc for don die finish before third mainland go turn to swimming pool . The bridge is high enough to withstand normal flooding / overflow.

A good place to start is why the limit was put in the first place. We've been running a deficit budget for as long as I can remember so I really dunno what he's on about with removing the limt on spending. How about tightening the purse to ensure the monies are used optimally?

You are supporting the suspension of spending limit in a country where termites eat documents, where rats, snakes and monkeys swallow huge amounts of money

A country where only one person stole N109B? A country with extremely weak institutions!

Be careful of what you wish for!

Why is nobody asking about anti-corruption measures?

And again, I hope people are not being bamboozled by the rubbish APC put out? If they had these plans, what would stop, Tinubu a cofounder, national chairman and political godfather of the APC from long implementing it?

These people seek to continuously turn our minds away from the fact that Tinubu is part and parcel of this government. A key partner of the ruling party.
His own wife is a senior senator in the senior chambers. His inlaw is in the lower house.

This man personally has or sponsored soo many governors and government officials, so again I ask, what prevented Tinubu from sharing and implementing these plans?

I hope Nigerians would never be fooled by this.
We cannot let ourselves be decieved oo.

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Donjazet2: 9:33pm On Oct 21, 2022
I ask again, why is no one talking about anti-corruption measures, when corruption is our number one problem?

The answer is simple, everyone knows Tinubu is a grandmaster of corruption, darkness cannot fight darkness. That's why they'll be silent on this.

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Donjazet2: 9:50pm On Oct 21, 2022
Meanwhile shameless urchins now disguise on Twitter as Obi supporters in order to pretend like they've stopped supporting the man, there is nothing these evil people won't do. No evil tactics they won't employ.

You need to see how many times I've bursted their useless tactics on this forum.

Manifesto is one thing, having the political will power to actually implement the manifesto is another thing entirely.

So it should mean, How are you going to implement your manifesto.

Lmaoooo, I know. grin
We can't look into the future to know who has the most political will to do whatever, but we can look to the past. I am interested in the manifestos, because examining all the manifestos is supposed to be part of the electoral process.
And I no go automatically believe wetin dey inside manifesto nau, in fact, perceived achievability of the manifestos presented is also important but as it goes, present your plans at least.

Same as every sane human being will tell you. Anyone who kills any human being for sake of ANY ideological struggle is a barbaric criminal.

And if par-adeventure, your question is of a political nature, My candidate has repeatedly said that he will deal decisively with anybody at all who uses violence for any means.
Unlike your docile and incompetent president who has totally failed in the art of negotiations with agitators, or failure of decisive security operations to put down the criminal elements.

He's completely aloof while all regions of Nigeria burns and fools like you decide to even mock a section of the country where his failure has borne an untenable situation. He has made a bad situation rotten.

But don't worry, change is on the way. A ray of shining light beckons upon nigeria. Its not too late for you to repent and retract your path so far.
