House of The Dragon ep 10.....9/10


A befitting finale for the series premiere. Premium first battle we'd be getting about dragon battle in the show. Convincing battle sequences from the dragons. Now we wait for Blood and Cheese next season.
I honestly can't understand the gripes with the finale about being the intro to season 2.

I think the expectation of all out war henceforth is clouding people's judgement when it isn't met.
How do you expect them to end the season?Episode 9 could have been the finale just as well as episode 10 should be the finale. How do you build up to next season and keep the anticipation high. How do we get really hyped for the war and the answer from the Blacks? It goes with series formula of ending a season with the biggest jaw dropping moment or biggest ramifications, enough to draw audiences back in numbers for the next season premiere.
Seems y'all are forgetting how shows ends a season with big cliffhangers.

You are watching a GOT adaptation and expecting an all out war in the first season. I laugh. GOT that is well famed for its internal politicking and slow burn and talky dialogue.
This is the same people crying and complaining of pacing issues and time jumps.
This is how you know people who lack deep knowledge or understanding of the adaptation they're watching.

This is the same Game of Thrones I abandoned some years back after watching S1 & S2 and got tired of no actual battle until episode 9 Battle of Blackwater Bay and painfully long teasing of The Long Night. So na this one you come dey expect sharp sharp all out war. No world building whatsoever, no character intro. The fvvk!!

This is a top notch episode although episode 9 is the series best episode. HOTD easily sits as the best TV show released in 2022 so far. It's true competitor might be Severance.

These are petty nitpicking asides from book readers online who have problems with the characterizations of Aemond not wanting to kill Lucerys & Arrax or the two Queen's resistance to full blown war unprovoked.

Poor luke aemond just wanted to play a little with his nephew but that old dragon won’t understand.

It merely just followed basic animal instincts. When an animal is cornered or feel threatened, it has no choice than to attack. If it tries to flee but you cornering it, it would have to defend itself.

Self defense. Simple!!!
It just wanted to warn Vhagar to back off. I can bite too!! A brave beast if you ask me.

I think it's more better this way, the book was only told from accounts of maesters that wrote it, the book never told us from aemond POV, all we know is that he killed one of his kin in the book, doesn't change the fact he fvcked up either way, aemond still ended up doing other evil stuffs, dude I think killed the most in the war! the riverlands chop better pepper from im hand, but at least we get to see that he took no pleasure in accidentally killing his nephew, he was just a kid playing with power too much to wield

lucerys is a targ! no one would be stupid enough to kill him in storm's end. also the journey from dragon stone to storms end no far, it wasn't also meant to be a powerful move, Rhaenyra just wanted to know where the barratheons stand, as it was against them, oya make the boy go house, aemond Mumu man wan play hide and seek! I also can't blame arrax here, at the end of the day, the dragon na animal with animal brain, it must to behave like animal, the blame falls only on aemond

Love this perusal.
Seems other loud mouthed book readers don't find it this way especially on Twitter.

Funny how they seem to forget that Fire and Blood is not 100% accurate. As it's mainly told by third parties POV and rarely the characters themselves. Na perception of each character determine how we viewed their actions.
Funny how they ignore the fact that GRR Martin is heavily involved in the show.

After this finale, I’m done with HOTD. The only way I’ll continue with the show is via recaps.

Legend of Korra season 2:.....4/10

Only thing I enjoyed in this season was the back story of the First Avatar. Those 2 episodes were great

Every other thing was honestly very tiring to watch.
Such a huge drop of quality from season 1 and a much bigger drop of quality from The Last Airbender

Legend of Korra seems to focus less on the Avatar story and more on the political climate...S1 actually did that well...but not S2

The characters were tiring and annoying to watch, the dialogue was cringe worthy and bad as if written by kids...
Korra is not a good character...worst character in the show... nowhere near Aang


The fights seemed to lack any sort of consequence and as such were boring and tiring.
ATLA avoided this by constantly introducing new variants of bending the elements...
e.g water - Ice
Fire - lightening
Earth - Metal
Water - blood
These kept the fight scenes fresh but Korra failed to see this...

I honestly couldn't care any less about the dark spirits

Not sure I'll watch S3 from what I heard about the character of Korra still being annoying af

House of the Dragon season 1....8/10

Nothing much to say here...was a great set-up season...I guess that's why there was rarely any major battles...

I'm also not a fan of the finale. Was not a bad episode but was a bad finale. Not a good way to end a season, that's why I waited to see if the official release would be different from the leak

I believe a finale needs to do at least 1 of 2 things very well:
1. Conclude an arc or set of events
2. End with a large set up or mystery for the next season

The finale didn't do either well... episode 9 even did more of 2 than the finale. Finale felt like a mid-season episode instead

Still a great season...can't wait to watch season 2

arcane is goated! wtf you on about? although I dislike the whole jinx worship in the fandom, but show is good, the plot, animation, soundtrack etc are some of the best ever seen! clearly you have good taste in animations, I don't get how you can like all that and not arcane

Out of d 10 episodes, only about 5 made me want to watch the next.
I gave it a 7 because the production was ok, but the plot and delivery was nothing to look forward too.
All these are just my opinions abeg, its not a bad show but i wont be following it again.
