codemaniacs:Lookman plays from the wings o He’s also a forward not a center forward/striker That means I’d add Moses Simon as a striker because I don’t understand why you’re including total wingers It’s just like saying Mo Sallah is a striker/centre forward 1 Like |

So Unai Emery dumped Villarreal for A. Villa Our boy Chukwueze might be heading to England. Unfortunately Villa can’t get into Europe because of the competition in England so no Europa for Emery & players |

yinkeys: Everyone from Npfl wants to go to Europe so if they play like 1-2 friendlies for se they’re more likely to go to Europe or other top African leagues that’s why And caf champions league has shown there’s no standout player yet ? 2 Likes |

typicalgamer: Yeah it is a vicious cycle. Get a good nofl player and they are out of the country in a short time and you have to call a new set and it happens again. If we really want to integrate npfl players we should recall them when they leave Nigeria. For example olisa ndah should still be in the national team but instead we have neglected him because he has moved to South Africa. We will be calling up a different set of npfl players all the time if we insist on home based and they will not be integrated into the team. The difference between home based and foreign based players is blurred a home based player now will be in Europe within 6 months and so what is next. You cannot integrate a player with one or two matches. Most of the players that list 4 nill to Mexico last year are now in Europe. Nigeria s economy is now horrible and not like the 80's when it was 2 naira to a dollar 1 Like |

typicalgamer:So the Ecuador & Mexico friendlies, no home based player was worth it Nigeria might not win Afcon until they totally take out politics from our national team My gut feeling tells me it’s the local assistants that draw the list of players for games of late |

yinkeys: His position on paper in the AFCON was CM but he played as a CAM and SS wasn't dropping deep to help defenders.. Aribo is not a midfielder... |

yinkeys: Wingers are also forward players.. Haaland is not a winger but he assisted Foden from the left wing. Moses Simon and Chukwueze don't drop deep to help the midfield and defense so I intentionally left them out and they are selfish players who hold onto the ball for long and that spoils counter attacks and don't assist. Okereke, Lookman, Tella, Ejuke, Amoo can replace them.. or they should be on the bench. 1 Like |

Danielnino00: Name one player from a backwater league in Europe l have CLAMOURED for to be in the SE. ❓ There is no mathematical equation that says the more minutes you play the more goals you will DEFINITELY score. However , the more you perform the more minutes you will be given and vice versa. Scoring goals in the EPL is not the same as scoring against low level teams in Cup games. In most cases when you come on as a substitute you have an advantage. The opposing team is tired and prone to making mistakes due to fatigue. Statisticallu speaking near %60 of goals are scored in the second half of games. Substitutions will largely be in the second half, players coming on in the second half are fresh and full of energy it's an advantage. You will find in the EPL opportunities are given to youth players to participate in cup in games because they don't consider them that important. |

Philosopher1979: You just hit the nail, it’s really hard to assimilate home base when after 2 consecutive matches they’re out of Nigeria and no longer considered homebase well it’s not their fault sha, just look at our league Lack of opportunities elsewhere is why our league is still going strong |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by typicalgamer(m): 5:28pm On Oct 25, 2022 |
yinkeys: 70% of those guys that play those games ain’t no longer in the npfl so would you call them homebase again. We’re starting from scratch anytime we’re building an homebase team because little exposure and they’re out of the country and I don’t blame them. You think say the sports sector they fair and not political before ? |

A joke Whenever our Club sides go for Away Matches vs North African teams, the development and urbanization leaves them bewildered and they forget they were there to play ball. |
