Why US' Nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki Should be Legally Assessed by Int'l Court

Intersting read.

The US nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on 6 and 9 August 1945, respectively, created a dangerous historic precedent which has yet to be legally assessed by international institutions, Alexander Panov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation, who worked in Japan from 1996 to 2003, told Sputnik.

Why US' Nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki Should be Legally Assessed by Int'l Court

"Of course, those who made the decision to carry out the atomic bombings [of Hiroshima and Nagasaki] and those who carried them out are no longer alive today," Alexander Panov, Russian career diplomat and political scientist, told Sputnik. "However, the point of holding a tribunal for the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki is to assess such actions. This is necessary to ensure that similar criminal acts do not happen again in the future."

Following the nuclear strikes, the US came up with a convenient excuse that the bombing hastened the end of the war and saved the lives of American soldiers, noted Panov, emphasizing that these claims don't hold water.

First, there was no military need for the atomic bombing of Japan, according to the diplomat. Prior to taking the decision to bomb the Japanese cities, six of the seven top US military officials argued that there was no military necessity for it, and that, from an ethical point of view, it would be a barbaric inhumane act. Indeed, there were zero important military installations in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Second, the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki did not force Japan to surrender, highlighted Panov.
In reality, Japan made the decision to lay down their arms only after the Soviet Union entered the war with Japan at 11 a.m. on August 9, 1945. At a meeting of Japan's top leadership, then-Prime Minister Kantarō Suzuki stated that the position of Japan had become absolutely hopeless due to the USSR's decision to step in. Therefore he insisted on acceptance of the terms of surrender.

Russia Creates Hope for Asia to Withstand US-Led NATO
Moscow has played a crucial role in stabilizing conflict-ridden countries like Syria, Libya, and Afghanistan, among others. Earlier this month, describing Asia as the new center of power, President Vladimir Putin said the region is playing a significant role in the transition to a multipolar world.

Founder of the ''Wagner'' private military company (PMC) Yevgeny Prigozhin was asked by Czech media if the reports about ''Wagner'' recruiting men in their country were true.

Prigozhin responds: "Yes, indeed, in the Czech Republic we have a huge number of recruitment centers. In general, I want to note that the citizens of the Czech Republic are fighting very good in the ranks of the Wagner PMC."

"And we're very proud that they are not the only Europeans who are working to protect the interests of the Russian Federation with weapons in their hands. We also thank the British, French, Poles and Romanians."

"We're especially grateful to those who live in the former republics of the USSR - Estonians and Latvians.
Once again, I want to emphasize that the Czechs are really the backbone of some units of the Wagner PMC."

The 'Allies' prolly don't want to be Afghanistaned again.
The West is still recovering from the PTSD they got in Afghanistan after coming in contact with ragtag Afghani Taliban rebels. (The Talibans eventually defeated the West and sacked/deposed the Western backed govt of Ashraf Ghani)
Ukrainians are currently unavailable to serve as cannon fodder.

Canadian Parliament Votes to Retain UK's Charles III as Monarch by 266 to 44

Why should colonial Canada have a vote at the UN (as Canada still remains a colony and an appendage of the UK).
Canada's vote at the UN is illegitimate, they're represented by UK's head of state.

South Africa snubs anti-Russia sanctions

Steel tycoon Alexey Mordashov is free to dock his superyacht in the country, the president’s spokesman said

South Africa has no intention of enforcing Western sanctions against Russian businessman Alexey Mordashov, meaning his $500 million megayacht may enter local ports, the spokesman for President Cyril Ramaphosa said on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters, Vincent Magwenya, the spokesman for the South African leader, noted that Pretoria “has no legal obligation to abide by sanctions imposed by the US and EU,” adding that the nation’s authorities adhere to UN sanctions. However, referring to the Russian tycoon, Magwenya added that “currently there are no UN-imposed sanctions on the particular individual.”

Another slap on the face of Westerners by Africans grin
TriitNG:

South Africa has refused to join Western sanctions against Russia triggered by the conflict in Ukraine, with its president arguing in late May that the restrictions would hurt “bystander countries.”

Russia and South Africa have warm ties that date back to the 1960s, when the Soviet Union supported anti-apartheid freedom fighters(that was another slap on the face of Westerners by Africans with Russia's help). Moreover, South Africa is a member of BRICS, an international socio-economic and political forum that also includes Brazil, Russia, India and China, with more countries seeking to join. The bloc already accounts for over 40% of the global population and nearly a quarter of the world’s GDP.
