For your information Russians and Ukrainians are killing themselves today whereas if you find anyone among those carrying weapons against their neighbours it's either atheists, agnostics, churchgoers, Buddhists, Hindus, Judaists, Muslims Traditionalists or EX-JWS but as for members of God's organization we have vowed never to raise weapons against our fellowman! Isaiah 2:4

May you have PEACE! wink

For someone who claims to belong to an organization not involved in politics, you seem to make almost every single thing political.

In regards to the topic of the thread,

I think there's a distinct difference between the stories written in the bible, and reality. The bible is by no means an accurate representation of how the real world works.

But let me try and play along here.

Being tolerant, in my opinion isn't just limited to how long you allow something you dislike to happen. It also includes the kind of things a person, or in this case, deity, finds offensive.

In that light, the God of the bible seems grossly intolerant, in most cases, punishing people for the slightest crimes, and even establishing laws geared at punishing people for things that would be termed harmless.

In the old testament, he allegedly killed a man for not wanting to impregnate his dead brother's widow.

He sent bears to attack some younglings for mocking an a bald guy

He apparently finds things like mixed fabric, non-virgins, sabbath day workers, and foreskins (which he also created) to be absolutely repulsive, and worthy of punishment, often by death.

In the new testament, he seems to be portrayed as a bit more calm, but the intolerance still shows.

He allegedly killed Ananias and sapphira for not bringing all the money they got from selling their property to the apostles.

Even Jesus, the star figure of the new testament, painted as the embodiment of love, went ahead to curse a fig tree for not bearing fruit even though it was not the season ... For no other reason than his tummy wummy was growling.

Tolerance and the biblical God are like oil and water. They don't just mix.

Your problem is the same as your neighbour claiming religionists, instead of reasoning with people to deliver a friendly message of hope you just want to impose your opinion on others and when they object you either insult or curse them based on the perspective you're seeing matters.
Misinformed religionists do threaten others with eternal torment while atheists like you mock them and when that's not working you resort to annoyance insulting people for disagreeing with you.
So don't think it's only the religionists that are delusional whatever makes you insult people simply because you're chatting on what they believe makes you delusional as well, the gift of speech and expression shouldn't be abused it's a privilege to have a neighbour with whom you can share what you have at heart but when they say "NO" you should move on gladly knowing fully well that it's a free world! smiley

Stop hallucinating and take a good squint around the thread to see that since the beginning of the thread, YOU are the one who's been seeking to impose your opinions on me. I typed just one sentence and was on my merry way but you and your half-baked brother couldn't just let things go because the words I stated truly hurt your feelz. You said it yourself here:

I'm not forcing you to chat with me but i won't release you simply because you want to turn it into exchange of insults!
NO! NEVER! I will tell you the truth that you can't find elsewhere except among God's people: JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES

For the record, if it's the word "delusional" that's been biting your ass, then I really am sorry. You see, I have the tendency to be uncharacteristically blunt and I call things the way I see it. You truly do exhibit signs of delusion. Take it or leave it.

I can't help but commend your patience when it comes to dealing with these guys. You've dismantled their baseless points pretty impressively.

MaxinDhouse and Dtruthspeaker are 2 of the most intellectually dishonest people I've ever encountered on this platform.

Thank you dear. Ironically, I was even wishing I hadn't taken them too far down the rabbit hole in this thread, but seeing different comments here attesting to their dishonesty and shallowness, I'm now thinking maybe it was worth it.

You're 100% correct!

Do you know why?

Because the Bible's Author used it to send us a warning message:

Whatever you (humans) feel that makes your life sweeter do it but Please! Please!! Please!!! Stay away from politics because that's the only thing that could lead you to insanity making you killers of one another without feeling remorseful! Genesis 2:17

This is the overall message of the Bible!

So no matter the school of thought you may belong be it Churches, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Islam, Traditional, Atheism or Agnostism you will gladly find yourself doing or supporting all these evil works:

sexual immorality, uncleanness, brazen conduct, idolatry, spiritism, hostility, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, dissensions, divisions, sects, envy, drunkenness, wild parties Galatians 5:19-21

You can ignore the Bible quotation because it seems that's what often annoy you atheists it's meant for believers following our discussion not you.

Now prove me wrong! smiley

This is what brought you into this thread but then you failed to present what you have that surpasses that of those around you instead you're here talking about what they have trying to prove it doesn't worth being treasured the way they value it. I'd just like to say, the problem with Ananias and Sapphira was not that they didn't bring all the money, but that they lied about it. Nobody asked them to bring all that they had, but they could have at least been upfront with it.

This is in no way a defense for what happened, I don't know enough to even begin. But rather a clarification.

The verse you quoted talked about staying away from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.. not politics. Don't try to be sneaky.

This is the overall message of the Bible!

Absolutely not. There is no overall message of the bible. It is a collection of books that tell different stories at different points in time.

I don't see your point here. You've just listed a bunch of “sins" in the bible, and are trying to accuse everyone else of committing them.

There's no argument here... Just you pointing fingers.

You can ignore the Bible quotation because it seems that's what often annoy you atheists it's meant for believers following our discussion not you.

Your bible quotations don't annoy me. But for some reason, you're the one who thinks quoting from a questionable book somehow does something to strengthen your argument.

I've used this analogy before. It's like me quoting from harry Potter novels to prove something about Harry Potter. I can do that all I want, but it won't make it any more real.

There's nothing to disprove, because you've not proven anything. You've made empty claims with nothing to back them up.

In regards to politics, you guys really aren't special. I've told you before. Choosing to abstain from politics doesn't make JWs, as an organization, free from those sins you mentioned above.

A quick Google search of the words “JWs" and “abuse" will drive that point home to you. So your claim in respect to that is dead on arrival.

Secondly, by claiming to abstain from political matters, while simultaneously shouting “politics" at every turn, you indirectly involve yourself in the political sphere. Although not an active participant, but a participant nonetheless.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm i expected this from any follower who will read so you learn through this thread.
The tree of knowledge of Good and Evil is the symbol of politics it simply means humans shouldn't think of setting up standards for their fellowman rather all of us should rely on what God says in order to cohabit peacefully. But from the day we choose to go political we will start taking our own lives without feeling remorseful. Now think about all the wars ever fought on this planet and try to figure out why humans will prefer one ruler against another to the extent of picking up weapons in support of their preferred ruler to kill their neighbours! smiley

We are all here to reason not to impose our opinions on others so go through my posts again and try to figure out where i impose my opinion unlike she's been trying to do saying the Bible which she knows that billions held in high esteem should be trashed.
Of course she needs to expatiate further not just saying that and expecting no thought provoking questions from others! smiley

POLITICS is the one and only thing that often makes people agree on picking up weapons against their neighbours when there is no standard to defend. What that Bible book of Galatians 5:19-21 is saying is that even though we find some of those things mentioned evil instead of trying to help the one practicing it to change politics will make humans become friends of those practicing it then they will join hands in killing their neighbours who are innocent of all these things! smiley

I have told you several times that when quoting people it's not just for the sake of arguments but presenting what could solve problems if applied wisely so when i quote the Bible i tell you what the Author said about the result if it's practically applied: there will be peace among those putting it to good use! Either you don't know the meaning of politics (which honestly wouldn't surprise me at this point), or you're just trying to be dishonest.

Politics is not an umbrella term you can just use to describe all the bad things. I don't know why i need to explain this to you.

I have told you several times that when quoting people it's not just for the sake of arguments but presenting what could solve problems if applied wisely so when i quote the Bible i tell you what the Author said about the result if it's practically applied: there will be peace among those putting it to good use! Also irrelevant. Secondly, your double standard is showing.

On one hand, you accuse people guilty of certain sins as doing so because of politics.

Now when I pointed out that your make-a-wish organization is also guilty of several of the aforementioned sins, you went on to say they're not perfect. And yet you claim they're free from politics.

If politics is what makes people commit these sins, and some JWs still commit these sins, then JWs are not free from “politics"

Truth be told, the only thing I've learnt from our interaction is that you are an artful dodger who pretends not to see legitimate criticisms of his worldview. Your conception of the Biblical God is at odds with the mainstream traditional belief, but you're just going to ignore and handwave the facts because it's too inconvenient for your beliefs.

However you choose to interpret my posts is your sole responsibility. I'm responsible for what I type but not for whichever funny meanings you read into my statements.

I don't have any business with what you choose to believe or disbelieve. You can hold on to your beliefs if it makes you feel secure. But please when debating with people who don't belong to your faith, at least try to maintain honesty and have the integrity to admit where you made mistakes.

Well you need more enlightenment!

People who goes out to make noise in the streets disturbing the peaceful atmosphere are not followers of Christ! Matthew 12:19

People who support politics to pick up arms and start killing their neighbours including their own fellow believers are not followers of Christ! Mark 12:31 compare to John 13:34-35

People who welcome contradicting teachings and conflicting doctrines are not followers of Christ! John 17:22 compare to 1Corinthians 1:10
