Dem go see enough money to steal building infrastructure than developing the education sector.

Buhari, who rose to power on anti-corruption mantra, would enter the history books as the president whose tenure is one of the most corrupt ever in Nigeria's history.

Tinubu and APC is campaigning in the SE on Monday

This is what the coward Obi with his squirell voice could not do

Obi governed Anambra and he hides under the bed every Monday. Jagaban Borgu is coming to Obis state on a Monday while Obi hides

https://www.nairaland.com/7414645/apc-presidential-campaign-anambra-imo
Hope you will hold Tinubu and APC responsible when people are attacked or killed that day? That a group can tell Nigerians leaving in the SouthEast to sit at home on Mondays, shows how useless APC government have been for seven years. People were kidnapped along Lagos/Ibadan expressway just recently, should be blame Peter Obi for that one too? Obi wey leave office before this madness start na him you dey blame, continu ooh.....

All the nonsense confrontational stand of the FG vs ASUU will only do more harm to the Nigerian student than the lecturers themselves.

If the people leading the FG negotiation team were reasonable, they would've reasoned that for a group of government worker to not been paid 8months' salary ; pissing them up with half salary for the month they resumed is not the way to go. The funny thing is ASUU only called off the strike obeying court order which does not forbid them from resuming the strike anytime soon.

The problem with most people knocking ASUU for the strike is that they were victims of ASUU strike in the past and they think ASUU is the bad guy instead of the government that has refused to fund the education sector. You see people making excuses for successive governments as to why the government can't fund education sector like ASUU demands, but it's the same set of people that complain of today's graduates not being employable, how some corpers can't even write a formal letter, etc.

These people knocking ASUU won't talk about federal government budgeting billions for defence, yet we have a country riddled with insecurity.

Anyways, wetin concern me? I don't have any horse in the race, however it ends " We must learn a lesson"!

The Federal Government has revealed that it has spent a total of N6,300,947,848,237 on capital and recurrent expenditure in the education sector in the last seven years.
What you should know
Nairametrics reported last year that a total sum of N1.76 trillion had been allocated to the Health and Educational sectors in the 2021 budget, indicating a 56.3% increase from the N1.13 trillion allocated in the 2020 budget.
The breakdown of the allocation in the 2021 budget includes the total sum of N1.13 trillion allocated to the Education sector and N632.7 billion allocated to the Health sector.
The total sum of N1.13 trillion allocated to the Education sector in 2021 is 64.5% higher than the N686.8 billion allocated to the sector in the 2020 budget

That’s the problem, Corruption has risen to the maximum under his administration for someone who planned to reduce corruption to the minimum...

I’ll just advise anybody supporting BAT to just campaign for him based on his past achievements and things he planned doing cause justifying this administration ineffectiveness to campaign for him will just jeopardize their efforts...

In as much as I love the way FG clipped ASUU wings but paying half of their salaries is completely out of it..
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by chrisooblog: 11:39am On Nov 04, 2022
It's easy to point to FG as the main villain when it comes to this ASUU issue but think about this the lecturers' union has been on strike at different periods since the 1980s when the economy began to stagnate.

What that tells me is that whether you like it or government can't fund universities to the level of basic unis all over the world. Universities should be fully autonomous and be able to charge realistic fees so they have enough money to hire quality lecturers, pay salaries and generally run the university.

Government should only focus on developing a special loan scheme to assist students who can't afford the fees.

When I point at FG, I'm pointing at the successive governments in Nigeria over the years and not just Buhari led FG. If u feel Buhari's government should be excluded from the list of villain's then I don't know what to tell u. It's on record how Buhari and his team campaigned that ASUU strike will be a thing of the past and that even university students will be given student loans(Keyamo was recently shown that particular video of Tinubu promising student loans in 2014 and all he could do was stammer on Channels TV) . So if we are knocking them like we knocked Obasanjo, Jonathan, Abacha and other governments for ASUU strike under their administration, we are only holding them to their promises.

As regards ur point about ASUU strike being a reoccurring issue since the 80's, it is a common knowledge that ASUU has gone on strike for different reasons in the past. ASUU members are learned people who have access to data and can analyze data. They have a fair idea of how much the country makes in revenue, they have fair idea of how much the government waste on frivolous things, how much the government spends on white elephant projects and even how much government officials have embezzled in the past. If FG can afford to continually have people embezzle money, misappropriate funds and nothing serious is being done; I don't think it's out of place for those in the education sector to hold the government by the jugular to fund their sector as well.

As regards the universities being autonomous, we all know that's not going to happen soon even though that's the final solution. Nigeria is a country where everything runs on subsidy. Removing subsidy on tertiary education will be like removing oil subsidy; it will be greeted with great resistance. Except the government decides to put in place measures like student loans to cushion the effect , the people will surely move against whatever government decides to carry on with it.
