giselle237: I got a rude awakening at Heathrow yesternight at the self service boarding pass machines. The Qatar staff who was supposed to login to the machine so I can print ticket, was looking to fleece me off a few bucks in return for help with registering on the naija site. The last time I was met with such shadiness was at kotaka airport last year with an airpeace worker. Omoh all female air hostesses wherever dey be, whether African or sand niggas, have criminality running in their veins. Luckily the naija site processed the barcode for me sharp sharp and sent it to my mail |

hunee: Yeah I luckily travelled to the UK with it. Na so I for dey stranded on top COVID. Hmmph. It no go better for naija sha. No one tested for Jack shit at the arrival Terminal in Nigeria. I was just asked if I had the card and qr code. What was now the point to filling the form and showing the green card at Heathrow and Hamad international as well? After the UK relaxed restrictions I thought the Nigerian government reciprocated the gesture. Please if you are traveling to anywhere outside Nigeria carry your covid card along as you will need it when coming back. 1 Like |

giselle237: Exactly, the bank people said so too I have gone to the bank, UBA, they said the money will be paid into their prepaid card and not my dom acct as i filled in the form. So i paid for and was issued a uba prepaid card.also funded my naira acct with the naira equivalent of the pta value.... I stumbled on somewhere someone said you need to write a debit authorization letter....i wasnt told that at the bank...and i saw that after i had left the bank to ask them. The bank people said am to wait, that i would be notified again when its ready... My concern is what if all these delays spills over and i t ravel...will the process still continue and they pay the money into my card/acct in my absence? |

I submitted the documents below, but note that they are both retirees. So upload docs to show proof of business evidence etc. Yes, you need to upload their bank statements as well, even though you're fully sponsoring them. Infact, I still explained large deposits in their accounts in an LOE with evidence attached. 1. Invitation letter from my sister (mentioned my mum & dad will stay with her family for the entire 1month, so accommodation & feeding is covered and they'll sponsor each of them with £1000 for flight to and fro UK) 2. Employment letter, 6month payslips, 6months bank statements showing monthly pay from work for both my sister and her husband. My sister's salary bank statement was low, so I added her 6months savings account statement 3. House ownership docs for my sister & husband, council tax bill, utility bill (water) 4. My sister's birth certificate, pictures of her & family with my dad&mum as evidence of relationship, her marriage certificate, BRP card and passport datapages for her entire family 5. My mum's retirement letter, Pension Annuity letter, 6months savings account where her pension gets deposited, their marriage certificate 6. My dad's 6months savings account showing pension deposits, no retirement letter though...explained in his own LOE that it's missing as he retired over 20years ago, their marriage certificate 7. Under additional docs, uploaded documents to show proof of strong ties to Nigeria (brief LOE written listing docs)....my brother's birth certificate as proof they have a child in Nigeria, current picture of mum & dad with brother, his wife and kids, land property documents, proof of TBills Investment maturing next year 8. Mum & Dad's Nigerian Passport, all old passports and stamped visa pages for all visas old/new This is all I can remember, but I think I covered all docs I uploaded MamaGiovanni: 1 Like |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 9:25am On Nov 13, 2022 |
RipVanWink:if the money does not enter on or before your exact travel date, forget am.. yes allow them to pay into your debit card. That’s the new method. They are not giving cash anymore… maybe 500usd but anything more is OYO. Pls go to the bank and drop the authorization letter as they can be funny. Lastly keep extra money in the naira account... dnt assume you know the exchange rate cause when it’s time to debit, they wont call u to fund account if it is insufficient… they’ll just go and update on the portal that your funds were incomplete so they can move on from your application. 1 Like |

As an international traveler wey wise, when you are traveling carry yellow card, covid card , and other travel documents. No traveler control the affairs at the international airport, so it is expected they come with new policies everyday especially in Nigeria. You can not take chances, carry everything carriable. Put them in a clear bag/envelope. wahala for airport too dey plenty Thegamingorca: |

Pappyyanky1: Always use Oanda Rate |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by hunee: 4:35pm On Nov 13, 2022 |
Hello. Acknowledge the prepaid card. That the new policy. When you get to your destination, you can withdraw 'only' in the local currency of that country. Whether or not you receive cash of 500usd, make sure you withdraw all monies and convert to usd or pounds (If the purpose is business or travel oriented) But from encounter of others, i can write that you are assured on withdrawals on the prepaid card if the bank does the right thing. Goodluck. RipVanWink: 1 Like |

Quick question please. If I want to invite my younger sister who is a student in Nigeria for my graduation here in Uk, what documents do you suggest we might need? I’m planning on using my bank statement and sponsoring her trip. As she isn’t working, would that be okay? Or does she need to show her bank statement too? Any ideas would be really appreciated please. |

Good morning all, I would like advise regarding my situation. I was born and grew up in London UK. I visited Nigeria on the 7th of October and planned to return to the UK on the 19th of October however I lost my Nigerian passport/belongings due to the flood in a Rivers state. I was informed by UKVI that I would need to apply for a vignette replacement. I applied online on the 25/10/2022 and attend my Biometric appointment on the 31/10/2022 in the TLS contact centre in Ikeja. I received an email stating it would take 15 working days to receive a decision.Today would make it the 11th working day but I do not have an update on the tracking system it states “application with DMC”. I have also called the UKVI and was charged £30 and sent an email for £2.74. I would like to know if anyone is in a similar situation. Do you think I would be informed about the decision before the 15 working day ? Thank you all in advance |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Geetaybeks: 6:11pm On Nov 14, 2022 |
Hello everyone. Please I am applying for a 6 months visitor visa. I have been to Ghana and Jordan only. I am a civil servant and I my take home is about 70k monthly.(Ecobank) I however do side jobs which I pay into another account. (Stanbic) and I transfer all my monies into my risevest account. I have been saving on risevest since 2020. I have also received money from my parent's estate as they are deceased. So my savings and money from my parent's estate amount to about 5million. I have had this balance on my risevest account for over 6 months. So Please how do I show I am financially capable to fund this trip for myself and my daughter who is to be part of the bridal train. |

Geetaybeks: Bridal Train? I am just hearing about Risevest. Can they provide a statement of account for you that is verifiable? Is Risevest a Microfinance bank? How old is your daughter? Are you married? |
