You believe in princes and Kings who are prepared and nurtured in office.
We belief in ability.
And Ruto has proven track record since he was Mp, Minister, DP and now President.
He is not someone who emerged from a cave...he has been prepared and nurtured into politics since he was early 20s.
obaaderemi:
Ruto will perform worse than Uhuru. Uhuru's worldview is far deeper than Ruto's. Ruto is clannish and egocentric. And what's worse he is ready to asslick the west more than Uhuru. Watch him worsen your debt problems.
Uhuru was prepared and nurtured for office.

We'll all be here. grin

And you think in kenya industries dont have captive power?

The number of companies that have set up their own power plants as they seek to reduce electricity bills increased last year, which could mean more challenges for Kenya Power and electricity producers.

The Kenya Economic Survey 2022 reported a 61 per cent growth in the power production capacity by small plants set up by various companies for their own use.

The surge was due to plants by sugar millers that are using sugarcane waste to generate power. The privately-run plants had a combined capacity to produce 216 megawatts (MW) as at December 2021, up from 133.9MW in 2020

68816419:

Madman, the majority of Nigeria's major industries produce their own electricity and hardly rely on the national grid; among them are Dangote, which produces over 100MW of electricity across all of its factories, Bua, which produces over 30MW, Indorama, which produces over 80MW, and numerous other companies.

I wonder why the little Indians don't understand these basic things. Check out the five first companies on both the Nairobi stock exchange and the Nigerian stock exchange. Nigeria has more manufacturing companies on that list than Kenya does.

Meanwhile, to the two animals angry I don't quote them: that's the status quo until your brains mature. wink

Kenya monthly is around 1.1 billion units.
In a year that is about 13 billion.
You see it half Nigeria - and I expect Nigeria to be about half of Kenya in almost evrything minus oil/gas production.

https://www.businessdailyafrica.com/bd/markets/market-news/electricity-use-jumps-to-four-year-high-3957212

Actually this year we could hit 20B.

Already it was 10B in since months.

Latest data from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) shows a seven percent rise in power use from 9.1 billion kilowatt hours (kWh) to 9.79 billion) in the period ended June as the economy made a steady recovery in the first half of the year.

Shaytun:

Don’t mind that idi*ot.

Nigeria power consumption is around 25billion kWh.

While that of Kenya is a measly 7billion kWh.

Captive power is cheaper - because Dangote can import and burn coal.
Yes there will be capex but it will eventually pay out.

Dangote is expensive because there is no real competition.

His gameplan is well know - reduce the price of cement to bare minimum - crush competition - gain market share - then jack up the price.

He can only do that in your Zoo - everywhere else he has struggled - because the playing field is more even.

Nigeria you need to be connected to buy basic stuff like dollars.

GeneralDae:

You are the one who says Dangote cement and other locally manufactured cement are expensive at 4000 naira. Why do you think they are 4000 naira? Part of the reason is because majority of these firms produce their own power.

I once fact-checked; there is only a rickety functional line from Tema to Accra - something like 49kms - that generally operate based on the moods of their train driver -otherwise there is no train service working in Ghana. Their railways system went into disuse and they are trying to rehabiliate. They gave chinese their aluminum so they can repair their broken railway system.

This only train service they got - and it's a mess.

Management of Ghana Railway Company Limited (GRCL) will from today, Monday, July 18, 2022, resume the Tema-Accra passenger train service, which was suspended temporarily for rehabilitation works.

“After successfully addressing some technical challenges, GRCL conducted series of test runs and a final joint inspection was also carried out on July 7, 2022, by GRCL and Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA) to ascertain the suitability of the line for passenger service,” a statement from GRCL noted.

The Ghana Railway Company Limited in the statement said GRDA, which is the industry regulator, has granted it the approval to commence the shuttle service.

Ruto impact is already seen and felt
The air of optimism, the confidence from investors and debts.
Inflation has come down despite cutting subsidies, liquidity has eased, and economic is looking good - just based on positive sentiments.
People have seen his appointment and his business mien - and they like it
He is only comparable to new Zambia president in terms of initial impact.

The crush/inflation/ name it started in March.
It already peaked.
That is called a lagging indicator.
Leading indicator - everything is coming down
And Ruto has not done anything - he is not finished forming his gov.
That mean everything coming back to normal based on positive sentiments alone.
People are confident on how he is going to steer the economy.
Zambia got such a lift off because their new president knows his stuff.

Nigeria and Ghana your inflation/liquidity name is accelerating and getting worse because nobody trust the sleepy Buhari and the Ghana short comedian.

You have on-off Tema-Accra line that is operational with 4 used DMU. The rest of the railway is rusted to the ground and you're trying to rehabilitate - it's far from going into operation.

Show me a video of you traveling in railway outside Tema-Accra?

You are worse than Nigeria.

Kenya even at it worse - Mombasa to Kampala railway has run nonstop since 1900 - as MGR. Passenger services was stop for few years but cargo works till now.

Nairobi Metro/commuter line has run nonstop since 1900.

All the branches are now all running - Kisumu, Nanyuki, etc

SGR is greenfield in kenya - old railway is working.
