It already peaked.
That is called a lagging indicator.
Leading indicator - everything is coming down
And Ruto has not done anything - he is not finished forming his gov.
That mean everything coming back to normal based on positive sentiments alone.
People are confident on how he is going to steer the economy.
Zambia got such a lift off because their new president knows his stuff.

Nigeria and Ghana your inflation/liquidity name is accelerating and getting worse because nobody trust the sleepy Buhari and the Ghana short comedian.

Your eyes will clear by December when your inflation hit double digits. I'll remind you then.

Dangote has 60 percent market share. That mean no competition if you were not a Zoogerian. Past 50 percent you dominate that market.
Shaytun:

Lmao, Dangote doesn’t have a competitor you say?

Inflation is not complicated.
It price of goods.
Already everyone in kenya is saying things are cheaper.
Apart from petrol and maize - everything else has come down.

There is no functional train service in your mini zoo apart from on/off Tema & Accra line.
In era of internet - we should not argue over such basic facts.
is this functional or not ?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xX474L80GHE

There's also a long cargo train that carries bauxite from 300km away to Takoradi harbour to be transported to Tema.

You have on-off Tema-Accra line that is operational with 4 used DMU. The rest of the railway is rusted to the ground and you're trying to rehabilitate - it's far from going into operation.

Show me a video of you traveling in railway outside Tema-Accra?

You are worse than Nigeria.

Kenya even at it worse - Mombasa to Kampala railway has run nonstop since 1900 - as MGR. Passenger services was stop for few years but cargo works till now.

Nairobi Metro/commuter line has run nonstop since 1900.

All the branches are now all running - Kisumu, Nanyuki, etc

SGR is greenfield in kenya - old railway is working.

is this operational or not

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xX474L80GHE

Our bauxite train has been running for more than a 100years now. Carting bauxite from the various mines to Takoradi for Tema.

Next excuse for why you only have 580km SGR compare to Ghana 1000km with an extra 1300km already already under construction

I once fact-checked; there is only a rickety functional line from Tema to Accra - something like 49kms - that generally operate based on the moods of their train driver -otherwise there is no train service working in Ghana. Their railways system went into disuse and they are trying to rehabiliate. They gave chinese their aluminum so they can repair their broken railway system.

This only train service they got - and it's a mess.

Management of Ghana Railway Company Limited (GRCL) will from today, Monday, July 18, 2022, resume the Tema-Accra passenger train service, which was suspended temporarily for rehabilitation works.

“After successfully addressing some technical challenges, GRCL conducted series of test runs and a final joint inspection was also carried out on July 7, 2022, by GRCL and Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA) to ascertain the suitability of the line for passenger service,” a statement from GRCL noted.

The Ghana Railway Company Limited in the statement said GRDA, which is the industry regulator, has granted it the approval to commence the shuttle service.

This is general knowledge. When people discuss rail transport Ghana is not a talking point.

Make that 140% for Ghana now.

Kenya we had inflation from 5 to 9 % - we have never bridged that.

This was April

Kenya's inflation hit 7-month high of 6.47% in April

Commodities whose prices have risen most year on year include:

Cooking oil up 41%
Cooking gas up 38%
Wheat flour up 24%
Soap up 23%
Potatoes up 22%
Maize flour up 14%
Beef up 14%

Now everything there has come down including Maize floor.
The rest are back to pre-march/april.

This random tweet.

Cooking gas 6Kg drops for 1450 ksh to 1000 Ksh
13Kg drops from 3000 Ksh to 2650 Ksh
UNGA 2Kg drops from 213 Ksh to 156 Ksh.

By December we should be back to usual 5% inflation.

Ghana would be tottering on a collapse.

Red herring. 40% inflation is not something I made up buddy. It's caused by poor Macroeconomic management. The price of rice in Kenya is determined by supply and demand.

Kenya inflation...

This random from Today - it's almost back to 5% inflation.

UNGA 130 - from high of 250.
Cooking oil 5ltrs 1200
Gas 12kg 2100 from 2900

Maize flour need to come down to 100 - everything else looks good.

Then we wait for petrol to slowly come down.

Well said. I've taken more than 30mins trying to search for their purported 1000km SGR hot air, but I couldn't find anything.

yet things here are far cheaper than in Kenya .... That should let you know how bad things are in Kenya..

The fact that the least expensive 5kg bag of rice is 10 dollars in Kenya just makes us know that things are really bad.

Why are you guys paying 8 times for electricity than us?

Anyway, I don't expect anything much from you because rvp couldn't answer

It's never cheaper when the inflation is high. You must think your country is special, but it isn't. These are your mates...

Electricity is cheaper, gas is cheaper, cooking oil is cheaper, cement is cheaper than in Kenya...

Those are the realities on the ground .. so again I ask, How are you guys surviving in Kenya?

14.60 Ghanaian Cedi for a dollar.
Focus there.
And try see if you can run away from Ghana to Nigeria; they are at least few months from such a crisis.

stop your jamboree, no country is under inflation at the moment. It is a global crisis. what is kenya current anti inflation measure , we should be talking about it. if you are not doing well now to curb it , your country will slide into into full blown economic recession next year just like how uk is almost heading into it . Ghana has already started disinflation process , firstly, is seeking imf engagement, providing a bailout loan etc .

Yours is an emergency - a crisis - a mess - and you better get IMF.
Not every country is going through a crisis - China inflation is 2%.
Kenya has generally breezed through all sort of global economic crisis
The trick is diversifying the economy and building resilience.
We don't depend on one thing...and of course we watch our macro-economics better.
This year was terrible as we faced Ukraine, drought and election.
Now we are about done with drought & election went well - so that already given us a lift.
Inflation is coming down...
I expect from 9% - it will come down this month to 7 % - which is our immediate target.
And next year it will be back to sweat spot of 5%.
We generally need to improve a few things - reduce debt, free up economy for more competition (too many SOES) and etc.

For Ghana - boy - 140% inflation.

Exactly what I said earlier on. His country had inflation of 5%
at the beginning of the year, now it's almost 10%. He would still be here arguing about other countries when his country begins to see double digit inflation.
