Inflation is not complicated. It price of goods. Already everyone in kenya is saying things are cheaper. Apart from petrol and maize - everything else has come down. obaaderemi: |

Carting bauxite from the various mines to Takoradi for Tema. Next excuse for why you only have 580km SGR compare to Ghana 1000km with an extra 1300km already already under construction |

Make that 140% for Ghana now. Kenya we had inflation from 5 to 9 % - we have never bridged that. This was April Kenya's inflation hit 7-month high of 6.47% in April Commodities whose prices have risen most year on year include: Cooking oil up 41% Cooking gas up 38% Wheat flour up 24% Soap up 23% Potatoes up 22% Maize flour up 14% Beef up 14% Now everything there has come down including Maize floor. The rest are back to pre-march/april. This random tweet. Cooking gas 6Kg drops for 1450 ksh to 1000 Ksh 13Kg drops from 3000 Ksh to 2650 Ksh UNGA 2Kg drops from 213 Ksh to 156 Ksh. By December we should be back to usual 5% inflation. Ghana would be tottering on a collapse. gallivant: 1 Like |

Just40: Red herring. 40% inflation is not something I made up buddy. It's caused by poor Macroeconomic management. The price of rice in Kenya is determined by supply and demand. 1 Like |

Kenya inflation... This random from Today - it's almost back to 5% inflation. UNGA 130 - from high of 250. Cooking oil 5ltrs 1200 Gas 12kg 2100 from 2900 Maize flour need to come down to 100 - everything else looks good. Then we wait for petrol to slowly come down. |

gallivant:yet things here are far cheaper than in Kenya .... That should let you know how bad things are in Kenya.. The fact that the least expensive 5kg bag of rice is 10 dollars in Kenya just makes us know that things are really bad. Why are you guys paying 8 times for electricity than us? Anyway, I don't expect anything much from you because rvp couldn't answer 1 Like |

rvp20182:stop your jamboree, no country is under inflation at the moment. It is a global crisis. what is kenya current anti inflation measure , we should be talking about it. if you are not doing well now to curb it , your country will slide into into full blown economic recession next year just like how uk is almost heading into it . Ghana has already started disinflation process , firstly, is seeking imf engagement, providing a bailout loan etc . 1 Like |

Yours is an emergency - a crisis - a mess - and you better get IMF. Not every country is going through a crisis - China inflation is 2%. Kenya has generally breezed through all sort of global economic crisis The trick is diversifying the economy and building resilience. We don't depend on one thing...and of course we watch our macro-economics better. This year was terrible as we faced Ukraine, drought and election. Now we are about done with drought & election went well - so that already given us a lift. Inflation is coming down... I expect from 9% - it will come down this month to 7 % - which is our immediate target. And next year it will be back to sweat spot of 5%. We generally need to improve a few things - reduce debt, free up economy for more competition (too many SOES) and etc. For Ghana - boy - 140% inflation. vaxx: 1 Like |

vaxx:Exactly what I said earlier on. His country had inflation of 5% at the beginning of the year, now it's almost 10%. He would still be here arguing about other countries when his country begins to see double digit inflation. |
