as a home guy i would take $40k to stay. thats not even a question. 1k abroad without papers is worse than hell lol

bro you are living in fantasy land. go to germany you will see millions of african aduros seeking political asylum. after they frustrate you for 10 years while making you live inside camps, after 10 years you will be the one begging them to deport you home. i used to visit aduro camps in aachen bonn back in the day because i knew a few people there back in the day. you will live in makeshift camps with turks etc. this man you are the typical naija man wey go open mouth like say life dey very easyyyyyyyyyyy and rossyyyyyyyyyyy once you enter europe cheesy cheesy cheesy

Don't mind that guy, he's just talking rubbish.

I doubt if he has ever set foot outside Nigeria before talkless of visiting an European country

Bros, you keep missing the part that YOU CHOOSE where to go!!!
Give me $1k, drop me anywhere in New York City. Paper or no paper, there is nothing a regular person can do that I can't do!

I wish somebody can just drop you there with $1k as you wish, I will be glad you learn some lessons life and direct. How much is $1k dollar, it does not even rent a home not to talk of feeding and other things. That is how all of una go dey Naija and think everything is easy outside there. when people will not tell you the truth.

When you think about a black American, what's the first thing that comes to your mind? For most of us, it's drugs, shootings, fatherless homes, single mothers, aggressive behavior, prison history, and so on. Why will they not be perceived as second class citizens?

Black Americans need to work on their reputation first. Even Africans look down on them. Our Nigerians go there and thrive while those black Americans keep playing the victim card. Who's to blame?

its deeper than that. that whole drug culture was introduced by the CIA to destroy their families. before 1960 african americans all were dignified and strong family units and they all wore suits but still they were being discriminated and treated bad.

and in your shortsight you dont understand that even people in canada esecially with your status as a refugee never have money. taxation is high and even thos earning 100k per annum cant save. people have lived and worked in canada for 20 years and cant show you 20 thousand dollars cash. so whats the point ? a wise man would collect the 40k. buy a house 25 million naira. put 10 million into business and use 5 million to travel and enjoy the world but he still has a home to return to. you will be in america with your status for 20 years you will still be renting and struggling and depressed. you have to use your head bro. money no dey abroad. its work and pay bills. i mean if thats the life you want. but me am taking the 40k. then i can buy my freedom which is a house. ow i can go and visit canada in leisure

Sounds like you are speaking from experience... And I totally agree. All these niggaz have been brainwashed so much that nothing you can tell them will sink in...

The Japa mentality don enter a lot of people's head. Even those wey go through study visa self no get joy last last.

To leave home country you must be calculative otherwise, you will regret it.

brother there is nothing like experience when it comes to travel matters. to talk about travelling is different from philosophy. you have to travel to be able to answer these questions you asked. anyone who is travelled can see through the holes of someone talking about travelling but hasnt travelled. like a few of the things you said like you are shocked that black people are treated as second class citizens when thats the first thing you notice when you travel. you can go seat somewhere and people start getting up around you. or you walk down the street and people start crossing to the other side when they see you. or you enter a store and security starts following only you around or you try to rent an appartment and they give it to the white guy who came after you while telling you the apartment is taken etc etc. these second class citizen treatments can only be experienced when you travel. so its many things you said that made me know you hadnt left naija before

@bolded My brother, don't take those things personally. Before they met you, they met another black man who gave them the bad impression which is why they're assuming that you are capable of doing that too.

It's not about being treated like a second class citizen. It's about your brothers spoiling the reputation of their fellow black man.

democrat states like new york . most especially new york. i remember an african american football player took a gun to a nightclub just to protect himself as a popular person. anyway the gun went off in his pocket and he mistakenly shot himself. they locked him up for 2 years for carrying the gun. his name is plaxico burress. so yeah new york is good and safe . just stay away from the bronx lol grin

Depends on what stage of life you are in. Prospects are very limited in Naija for young people. $40K for Naija no be nothing. How will you make a living? If you are older and cant hustle, take the 40K and continue the life you are used to. If you are in your early to mid 20s, take the 1K and come to Yankee to hustle. At least light dey and food dey and you never acquire responsibilities for Naija and prospect dey.

It all depends on your circumstance. Me I no fit return to Naija even if you give me $400K, not at this stage of life. When I retire, you dont have to ask me before I move back to Naija

he is right... Those in Europe and USA are living on borrowed lives and credit

How can people be paying debts till 80s
Ordinary boxers they buy with credit cards
Ordinary cars that we buy in Nigeria directly they buy via credit card
Ordinary phone they buy through credit

The whole thing is rat race... They live all their lives in credit and depression

Do you have any sources that prove that CIA were involved in the black drug culture? I never heard that before.

Open your eyes mehn. There are a lot of blacks at the top who are well respected.

Let's say that you own a store and most of your customers are black. They never steal and they always pay. Then one day, one Chinese man comes in and steals some stuff from your store. The next time a Chinese man walks into your store, won't you keep an eye on him to make sure that he doesn't steal anything like the other Chinese man? That's what I'm talking about.

I use to say no, but not anymore.

Even during war, Ukraine's fire service, medical team, road and rail network, and electricity is still far better than anywhere in Nigeria.

The moment you leave Nigeria to say uk, us, canada, Australia, new Zealand (very under rated); you will expand in knowledge. If you notice, most of these countries send their own people to various countries to go expand their wisdom.

So, if you have the chance and a plan, go.

Over 45 or 50, it will be hard to fit in, train for a career, and go through the rigors of survival in a new country; except you have support.

Portugal, Bulgaria, Greenland, Iceland, new Zealand, and places like these are underrated. Language Barrier in some of these places, but these are great places that can fast track your success.

Without all that, you can still survive in Nigeria.

It's not a war in its proper definition, do not let western media deceive you.

How can you claim to be fighting a war, yet your football league. Basketball league, (all sporting activities) schools, hospitals and all that are still active?

A country fighting a war won't even have time to be fighting that they exclude a country and include them in the world cup.

You claim you're fighting a war but you want your national team that didn't qualify to be included in a football World Cup!

I am not saying that we are second class cos we are black, they treat you like they are better than you cos you are black. I am not second class, just the system/society treats you that way because of the racist american past. Thank God for black americans that fought for civil rights

i use igbo because most people can argue that yoruba are not entirely second class citizen seeing as obasanjo alone has ruled for 12 years then there was shonekan etc and so i know if i said is yoruba not second class citizen many would say i am crazy that yoruba has been ruling the country with fulani and so i wanted to use an example that nobody would dispute which is also based on the biafran agitation etc. hope you understand it now lol

40K dollars is 23.4million naira approximately.

Nigeria will finish that money for you in one year and if the business you decide to do (as some people have suggested), isn't strong enough to survive the first 18 months, you go poor pass when them never give you the 40K dols.

Bros, think your business wise... you cannot double that money just in a year unless you are greedy. Same way, that money cannot just finish like you mentioned. Put 20million in treasury bill at 10% interest per annum, that is 2million, this is given to you immediately while 18million will be held down for one year. Buy 2million naira corolla car. You have 3.4million naira left, move to Port Harcourt and rent a 2bedrom flat 600k, start doing bolt or uber business in Port Harcourt, you are sure of making at least 200k per month. You have 1.8million left from the 3.4m, if you have a wife and two kids, pay the kids three term school fees, don't do pass yourself, it won't be more that 450k, use 350k or less to register HMO (health insurance for you family... 1 year). from the remaining 1million, get a small shop for your wife on your street to sell provision if she is not working and stock it with any small item the money can buy for the moment. Your bolt/uber business will be feeding you and other miscellaneous. at the end of the year, your 20million will come back, put it back in to treasury bill, get the interest, pay your rent and every other thing.... make sure you are doing small savings from your bolt business too. keep turning it around like that, and keep praying till something bigger comes.
