Then address on the cover letter how the amount was accrued and the duration. You can add transactions/payment receipts to buttress this claim. If you are not the direct applicant ensure to take a look at the account statement to verify this.

Majority of them just look for an excuse to deny the visa not minding the money and stress spent on the application process .
Another thing I noticed is the inconsistency in reasons for denial. They deny A for a particular thing and approve B for that same thing. Na to dey pray on top ECO matter.
It all really boils down to the officer going through your application

There was nothing like that on the statement from the 10th of October. The opening balance was the money my mum had in her account in March. Which was when she printed the account from. She had 1.5M as her opening balance and submitted payslips and employment letter to show she has been working at that company for over 3 years now. It was just confusing on what they meant by not explaining the opening balance.

Bro try and study the bank statements very well before you re-apply, does your mom received other income she stated with this bank statement?

You can explain the opening balance is the salary your mom accumulated as a savings from her employer

Nairaland is a good platform because it helps share ideas and bring fruitful conversations , but if you have to, consult a professional , because some mistakes people make on their applications are avoidable, you can not write off those with experience. Alot of monies go into this process, that should be a reason to consider.Consult.

Everyone has contributed positively. If you want to explain an Opening balance. Since you employed receiving salary, you will definitely have payslips prior to the starting month of the financial bank statement. You need to include at least 3months and more to justify the origin of the funds with cover note. it's not compulsory but advisable.

Hello everyone,

I relocated to the UK over a year ago and the travel processes was done by a travel company in Nigeria. We were eligible for IHS refund, so i informed the designated agent assigned to us when we did out travel arrangment in Nigeria to inform her that i will be applying for the refund, she told me to provide proof once i have applied because the Uk gov will only refund the IHS to originating account that IHS is paid from which happens to be from the MD and his wife account. The refund has been approved and credited into their various account since september this year and the company is not having a turn around saying they do not process refund and do not involve themselves with IHS refund. All i want is for my IHS refund to be paid to me by the travel company since it has been credited into their account.

Please i need help or advice to go about getting my IHS refund from this people. The company have decided to stop responding to our emails claiming our file has been closed. I have all the evidence including transaction details.

I was asked to summit my original travel passport since my Administrative Review was successful on 30 Sep 2022 and a letter explaining that when I arrive in the UK I will have permission to be in the UK (known as Leave to Enter) as STUDENT DEP PARTNER from 22 Jun 2022 to 31 May 2023 was sent to me on 26 Sep 2022.

I submitted back my passport to the embassy (TLS Services Ikeja Lagos ) on the 14th of October, 2022 where I submitted my VAF and ever since the passport was submitted I have not received any response or call for pick up of my visa from the embassy.
I am worried and so is my wife as we have been leaving apart for so long. I plead that urgent attention be given to my case to enable me join my wife as her dependent.

Hello guys

I need help




A decision was made on my application a week after by biometrics (27th of October) but a wrong entry date was written, instead of 16/12/2022, 16/12/2012 was written. I noticed it and I was told to leave my passport that it will be rectified.

Few days later, I got another decision from UKVI, this time, the letter also had the correct date. 8th of November

It’s been close to 2 weeks but my passport hasn’t been returned to my tls for collection.

I went there on Monday, and they said it’s not ready.

Please what can I do?

If you didn’t get a refusal email before your application was transferred to VAC, you will most likely get the visa. Refusal emails are sent before applications are transferred to VAC. Check your spam folder tho.

Congratulations in advance.. Since you didn't get a refusal email before transferring to VAC, you should expect a collection email today.

In my own case. I got a refusal mail 4 days after I confirmed a decision has been made on my application.. Its up to a month now.. I haven't gotten a collection email even as I need my passport urgently for an emergency travel.. I have escalated twice, made several paid calls and even visited TLS and BDHC twice.. All effort proved abortive and I don't know what to do anymore.

I have never been this frustrated in my life..I am fed up already..

Please have that your friend who got a refusal collected his/her passport?
