Good morning house , A friend of mine applied for south africa e visit visa through the ehome website. they sent him a rejection letter telling him his travel date has passed he wanted to travel early this month but got the letter about 6 days back. There was delay in responding to his application that was why the travel date elapsed. How can he apply for administrative review , because it was the fault of the consulate as a result of delay in processing. |

Jxool: If you’ve still been unable to log in, send an email to DHA customer representative at hacc@dha.gov.za (with an image of the error message) and/or call +27 0800 60 11 90. They can attend to e-visa queries. 2 Likes |

D27finny: For e-visa application, you can either apply through DHA via this link: https://ehome.dha.gov.za/epermit/home or apply through VFS via this link: https://southafrica.vfsevisa.com/ Did you apply for your e-visa through any of these platforms? All documentation and payments are to be done online through any of the platforms you choose to use. No appointment or physical submission of documentation is required. Please read the FAQs/How to Apply pages on each of the web links to get more details about the process. Good luck. |

Genlit33: Did the e-visa rejection letter mention that your friend can appeal? If it did, then your friend may follow the procedure of appeal mentioned in the appeal letter. If the letter did not indicate that he can appeal, I would suggest that he should reapply with a new travel date if he is still interested in visiting SA (to be safe, 3 months before his intended date of travel). Also, if the purpose of his travel is not dependent on a fixed timeline (e.g. scheduled training, scheduled meeting, etc.), he can make his travel period longer (10-15 days or more). Of course - a longer travel period will require a bank statement/other evidence of sponsorships that can cover the period of stay etc. I’ve heard appeals could take long to be treated (if at all you can appeal), and in your friend’s case, blaming the embassy for the delay may not do much for your appeal since delaying visa processing time is unfortunately “common practice” with SA embassy/DHA. |

Tryhard: I do not think that's the reason why it was stucked because I applied for the same category of visa in Abuja since March 17 and I didn't hear from them as well. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Tryhard: 11:20am On Nov 20, 2022 |
shigo04: Nawa o, Maybe it’s the category itself then because as long as study visa takes some people on this thread have applied for it like 2/3 times and got decisions 2/3 times for just this year alone. My advise is to contact the embassy in Abuja or VFS and ask Howfar because it’s just too long. Plus Lagos is closed and the pressure is on Abuja Embassy I guess that might be contributing to the delay even at that it’s too long. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Tryhard: 11:24am On Nov 20, 2022 |
Maz8: My advice is to reapply, appeal takes 6-12months and that’s if they will even attend to your appeal. I’d advice you to Reapply like 1-2 months before your date of departure because now this is festive season and application is high even at this moment. Goodluck |

Please how can one make hotel reservation directly with hotel since they said no 3rd party Tryhard: |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Tryhard: 10:08pm On Nov 22, 2022 |
Gernny: Go directly to their hotel website like Houghton hotel, Johannesburg marriot or any hotel in the city you’re going to, then make reservations or better still if you have a friend or relative in JHB or SA, tell them to write you a letter with their phone number, email address, house address and duration of your stay, attach it with a recent utility bill that shows that house address and their SA ID or intl passport and their visa/permit if not a citizen of RSA. all should be stamped by a SA police not more than 3 months and then bank statement if the person is responsible for your finances in SA if not don’t attach it then yours must be attached. 2 Likes |

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL SOUTH AFRICA APPLICANTS This is to inform all applicants that effective 14th November 2022 at the instruction of the Embassy/Consulate VFS will no longer withhold customers international passports when lodging visa applications. We are thus requested to return international passports to clients immediately after visa applications are lodged. Applicants will confirm on the checklist that he/she received his/her passport(s) whilst the visa application is in process. No client should insist on submitting his/her international passport while lodging visa applications. International passports will be requested for as part of the adjudication process by the High Commission or Consulate General ONLY. Source: VfsGlobal Website for NGA>ZAF |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 11:28pm On Nov 22, 2022 |
Tryhard: This is because of the massive backlog they are dealing with right now. They are aware that applications are taking longer than usual to process and don’t want to hold people’s passport for too long. Meanwhile, if anyone submitted a long term visa (over 90 days) application between 12 Jan and 31 Aug this year (as your application may have been forwarded to Pretoria for adjudication) and has not received any feedback, please send an email to IMSqueries@dha.gov.za. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 11:35pm On Nov 22, 2022 |
Tryhard: I’m not sure Lagos is entirely closed. Last I checked with VFS, they mentioned something like Lagos consulate staff are reviewing the applications from Abuja office. I think perhaps a call to VFS will clarify further. |

Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Tryhard: 2:00pm On Nov 23, 2022 |
Maz8: Yes, if you applied at VFS Lagos, They will forward it to High Commission in Abuja. For all Visa Categories. And they also mentioned that applications will take longer than expected due to high volume of applications received & the turnaround period of courier services from Lagos to Abuja and Vice-Versa. |
