Australia just bagged vs Denmark. Shocking. Denmark has not lived up to expectations in terms of results. So tactically sound and on a decent run of results coming into this WC yet haven't taken off.

As things stand, Australia will make it unless Denmark responds with a leveller to gift Tunisia a chance again or unless Denmark can score 2 to take the lead to give themselves a chance.

Na wa. Australia qualifying will be something I never saw coming and didn't even think will happen.

Time will tell.

Tunisia may not qualify due to Australia beating Denmark (if it stays this way), but beating France on the way out would send a massive statement.

I just read on BBC that if Denmark wins their goal by 2-1 Denmark would make the 2R, us that correct?

Great result for Tunisia but I don't see Denmark scoring against Australia.

The Aussies have done it. That is a shock.

The team who finishes 1st in Argentina's group today will face them in the round of 16. Wow.

Griezmann just had to deny Tunisia.

Tunisians would have been ending 2022 with, "We beat the Reigning World Champions at the WC. What about you?" grin

Well done Tunisia. You fought well. Played good football but just couldn't get your final third game sorted especially in the first 2 matches.

At least, Tunisia leave after scoring their first and only goal of Qatar 2022.

Tunisia will end the year with that special feather added to their cap and special moment added to their CV for 2022. grin

Really disappointed at Denmark. Promised so much. Showed true tactical nous prior to this WC. Their run at the last Euros was also proof of the solid team they are but what a disappointment they were.

I tipped France and Denmark to make it out of Group D but as always, Football can always throw up other ideas.

Australia. The only team brutally taken apart by France is the side that goes through with France.

If you don't show up despite having it all, nothing for you.

Do you Know? Trivia: Kalidou Koulibaly

Koulibaly's winner vs Ecuador was his first international goal for Senegal.

His appearance vs Ecuador was his 67th cap and 66th start. What a way to mark your first goal. A moment he would always remember.

Exactly! When TheGoodJoe pointed out the positives in this Australian team despite their hammering at the hands of France, many including You, Gorilla man, yes you... you all questioned him and felt he spoke too soon.

Today, My Good Man Joe stands vindicated on Australia.

You are right, the channel is Brazilian, but that's not Brazil. That's probably a country in Africa, maybe Nigeria.

codemaniacs:
They should tell the boy in the link below to focus on improving his stamina and ball movement on grass and ball handling..

He should not focus mainly on joggling the ball..

The channel is a Brazilian or Portuguese channel I could be wrong.

But in this video I am 100% sure I heard them speaking Yoruba..

the boy should focus on his speed and if anyone knows where this video happened they should make it public here at least.

Nigeria Football is in a state of DESPAIR.

The earlier we come to term with this, the better for US going forward.

We are no longer the Giant of Africa.

Football has departed this nation and we are only living on past glory. sad sad undecided

Tunisia crashes out as expected but not in the manner most expected.

Tunisia didn't register a single goal at this WC until they met France today and bagged their only goal of Qatar 2022.

A goal that turned out to be the winner and gives them some bragging rights as we end the year.

Tunisia leaves Qatar 2022 with their heads held high no doubt and with one trophy you cannot take away from them this year.... grin

Their Trophy: Beating the World Champs in a WC tournament.

Their fans have been pacified. wink

Dem try. Kudos to the Carthage Eagles as they head home.

Not sure if it's been reported here, but Kolo Toure has been appointed as the new coach of Wigan Athletics.....

It's been ongoing for about 4 weeks now, sadly missed at Leicester .

In addition he had a large controlling influence over the academy , for one he brought in several Black African coaches into the academy. That completely changed the dynamics in what was a very Racial biased club before Brendan Arrived.

You will see the Racial dynamics will change quite a lot as well as the type of football ⚽ they will play.

I can see several Liverpool U21 players going there on loan in the coming weeks as well as from Manchester city

Yes they have. If you are going out, go out with a bang. Africa is doing well and is leaving an impression on world football during this tournament. Thes kinds of performances were much needed especially after the nightmare in 2018. Our increase to 9 spots in 2026 is being justified. Exciting times ahead for CAF.

I already mentioned I expected Denmark to pull through alongside France. And more than that, I expected more from them and rightly so.

I never expected Australia to qualify but I pointed out that TheGoodJoe is right about their brave approach in certain phases of the game. Even he didn't predict their qualification. No one here did.

The point is he was right about Australia's brave approach despite not having the star power of France.

Like TheGoodJoe said... the Problem with you lots are many. You want to be right even when you haven't said anything of substance. And you are all result-oriented without understanding the intricacies of team plays.

I already owned up to Australia shocking me... but I trust I am not the only one. Not even you or anyone thought Australia could go through. So rest.

Forget it, Brazil's bench is not like the French bench. Even if in the highly unlikely event that Cameroon beats Brazil, I expect their to be a winner in the Switzerland vs Serbia game. But then again, there is no perfect crystal ball for prediction football results, anything can still happen. No matter how well the analytical, technical and tactical forecasts are, football always has a way of throwing surprises, if you like use complex algorithms, surprises are a guaranteed feature.

Another showdown about to start, all 4 teams have a chance of going through. I won't be shocked if Saudi makes it through but as always time will tell.
I also expect Argentina to win tonight.
