Sermons and lectures are delivered in churches and mosques in both English/Arabic and the mother tongue.

(This practice is important as it aids people's understanding of religious teachings and help them connect with the message being passed at a personal, deeper level.)

The same method should be adopted to teach in schools, especially when it comes to teaching STEM.

Teaching science in vernacular should be encouraged, and not frowned upon as most do, especially in South-West.

Also, teaching STEM in local languages should be used to supplement teaching in English.

There's a reason why many of the best scientists in Europe learnt and did science primarily in their mother tongue and secondarily in English.

I actually chose not to go on, because you clearly have a bee up your bonnet and are emotionally invested in your delusions that balkanisation of our educational syllabus will miraculously carry Nigeria into a glorious future.

Rather than opt to make our students competitive on the global stage, you would rather throw more complexity into the equation.

You must be wiser than the millions of educators using this method all around the world simply because it works most times and helps students reason independently and creatively, and not merely repeating what has been done in the field by Europeans.

While I was in secondary school and we were asked to read the approved Yoruba literature textbook, only few can read Yoruba well and observe the "ami"(do, re, mi sounds) appropriately. A lot of people copied during WAEC while writing composition, letter writing etc.

If most people cannot even excel in this basic Yoruba Language, how does one expect them to learn scientific concepts in Yoruba and understand? Most Yoruba Christians cannot even read Yoruba Bible without being corrected by elders every now and then. I think using Yoruba as the language of instruction for scientific concepts will only make the process of learning longer than it should take.
