First off it has been partially established that we do not know who you really are. Seeing as you are clearly an old member hiding under a new handle.
Oga Ade, this line is getting stale - I never stated I just discovered nairaland, I clearly mentioned I had been here ions ago, even stated active members on boards to give you an idea of the era, how far back I go; Oga I am only responsible for what I write not how you choose to inteprete it, like seriously nobody knows who anybody is, apart from very few, so quit being paranoid... What do it even matter sef, its would be understandable if money was on the table like my proposed bet with Dayo..
E get wetin pesin dey grow pass na... Done having discussion on my Identity; Soon paranoia go make una ask person to post their kpali details for this board angry sad angry

Dayo might sound tribalistic, but I tell you...he is a cruise master and a good person cos I have known him for long. Most times it is "you get what you dish out" for him.

But you see this Gloriousgbola abi wetin he call himself. Na this guy has a poisonous heart..not because he supports tinubu, it oozes out from his breath.

You keep on conflating 60 minute sermons from books that originated as oral traditions with teaching hard science

You think honor thy father and thy mother is the same as what is the potential energy of an 10kg object at an elevation of 5 metres?
This guy obviously knows very little about the history of Physics. Most concepts in Physics today are borrowed words from Greek and Latin.

They were translated to English. The same thing can be done in teaching science in Yoruba language, for instance.

Just like religious instructions are taught in local languages, science can also be taught in the indigenous languages.

Yes, it takes more effort from my experience, but it's doable and well worth the effort.

If you don't have anything tangible to say, I'd appreciate it if you stop mentioning me to engage in cyclical arguments.

Good riddance

we will face imparting practical solutions to problems. you can alternately keep your head in the sky or in your arse

Yours is always the way of the coward, stay on the sidelines and keep taking shots, then run away when engaged.

Just look around you, first, explain why any single person would still support this party despite the monumental failure, then look around here, tell me why all his supporters here happen to be only people of his own tribe? People who happen to have said the very worst of things.

Damola prove that you are not a tribalist, give your unbiased view about this talking point. What do you make of the person who uttered these words?

Can you give your unbiased view about this talking point? Why did you call Ngige a Yoruba Bastard when he won APC primaries?

I think our indigenous languages may not be the best fit for teaching certain concepts because the words for them just don't exist.

In Igala language, heat, electricity and light all share the same word. How do you start explaining the difference in textbooks? Do we start embellishing the language like Esperanto or Klingon?

A001's biggest mistake is forgetting that WAEC and JAMB will still be written in English.

It's not enough for the students to understand the concept - They have to to understand the exam questions too. And they have to be able to explain the concepts on their exam sheet...in English.

The English language has a canonical reference (Merriam-Webster's). Most indigenous languages lack an equivalent.

These ideas are grandiose and noble but impractical. It's comparable to trying to design a new operating system from the ground-up as that famous Nairalander (ghostofsparta I think) discovered.

I think blind and deaf people write waec and jamb also
Their questions are always in braille, they should also prepare question for those willing to write in native language
If the compulsory teaching of local dialect survive 5 years then they should also implement the writing of exams in local languages

This! And the fact that Nigeria is a very much heterogenous society . There are some people in Ondo state, when they speak Yoruba, A Yoruba person from states like Lagos, Oyo and Osun will find it hard to even understand them. I know a very top executive like that, He speaks English Fluently well and speaks his Dialect well, but Yoruba is his Albatross.

Teaching such a person in Yoruba is counterproductive and if we decide to teach him in his dialect, then that means we will be willing to do same for several other people from the different ethnic groups in the country . Now imagine spending that much to train teachers only for students to write the exam in English Language that is generally acceptable to all. Then why bother in the first place?

they should go the while hog and start writing teriary texts in yoruba

python in yoruba for dummies
we should even get a naija version of linkedin learning
udemy is sha basically linkedin for asians
maybe we can have our lecturer on YoloIN teaching advanced physics concepts

even better, lets get a Yoruba ICAN. ICYA. then we can get an igala one, and an ibo one, and an edo one.
then we can do same for every professional organisation
then we can go full regional with political parties, with articles of association written in native tongues

lets go all out
balkanize!

so we get YEC, IBEC, FULEC, HAEC - YAMB, IGAMB, EDAMB. problem solved.

its really very simple

next we will be conducting job interviews in native languages.

I actually chose not to go on, because you clearly have a bee up your bonnet and are emotionally invested in your delusions that balkanisation of our educational syllabus will miraculously carry Nigeria into a glorious future.

Rather than opt to make our students competitive on the global stage, you would rather throw more complexity into the equation.

It will really be interesting seeing how youth corpers from other regions will teach students maths and chemistry and biology in other languages.

Seeing as you are writing a book, I guess your real goal is to corner the native language textbook market. Always follow the money, not the shalaye
Hehehehe...you know ball!

With the way he explained it to me, I can see how explaining difficult concepts in Yoruba can be used to augment his teaching practice. That part makes sense.

Writing a physics textbook in Yoruba however is counterproductive given the educational demands of the country. WASSCE in particular is an international exam. Does he expect Nigeria to withdraw from WAEC?

I think that A001 is driven by a need to champion and maintain Yoruba culture. I strongly agree that there is a need for the preservation and promotion of our culture. I just believe there are more practical ways to achieve this goal

No bro. Braille isnt a language. Braille is a way to communcate by touch. There are like 130+ languages coded in Braille.

The one we use in Nigeria is English.

I think that's the major issue here
We have different tribes and languages
English is the general accepted language
