There are some people in Ondo state, when they speak Yoruba, A Yoruba person from states like Lagos, Oyo and Osun will find it hard to even understand them. I know a very top executive like that, He speaks English Fluently well and speaks his Dialect well, but Yoruba is his Albatross.

Teaching such a person in Yoruba is counterproductive and if we decide to teach him in his dialect, then that means we will be willing to do same for several other people from the different ethnic groups in the country . Now imagine spending that much to train teachers only for students to write the exam in English Language that is generally acceptable to all. Then why bother in the first place?

With the way he explained it to me, I can see how explaining difficult concepts in Yoruba can be used to augment his teaching practice. That part makes sense.

Writing a physics textbook in Yoruba however is counterproductive given the educational demands of the country. WASSCE in particular is an international exam. Does he expect Nigeria to withdraw from WAEC?

I think that A001 is driven by a need to champion and maintain Yoruba culture. I strongly agree that there is a need for the preservation and promotion of our culture. I just believe there are more practical ways to achieve this goal
