dotcomnamename: Hello guys,
As there is no thread for Irish Visit/Tourist Visa in nairaland, i have decided to create this thread for the purpose of gathering information about Irish Visit/Tourist Visa. For those who believe that it is extremely difficult to obtain an Irish Visit/Tourist Visa at the Irish Embassy, i can confirm that it is not difficult to obtain an Irish Visit/Tourist Visa provided that you meet the requirements of the relevant rules by the Embassy of Ireland. If you have a good job in Nigeria, i mean well paying job in Nigeria and working full time and you can prove that, off course you can apply for an Irish Visit/Tourist visa to the Embassy of Ireland in Abuja through the VFS.
I will personally suggest the following documents:
International passport valid for at least 6 month Marriage Certificate Wedding photos Family photos 6 months Bank Statement Evidence of any property you own in Nigeria Evidence of any other investment you own such as shares, e.t.c. Your children birth certificates Your birth certificate Introduction letter from your Church/Mosque confirming you are a regullar member of the church. It is also a social tie. Leave letter from your employer and must state how long you have been employed and should state when you are exoected to back to work. If self employed you must provide evidence of your business registration, tax clearance and evidence of your business transactions. If you have been invited by someone in Ireland, you must provide Invitation letter from the person inviting you. Copy of the bio-data page of the person inviting you. A signed and dated Letter of Undertaking from the person inviting you stating you will observe the condition of your visa. If the person inviting you is sponsoring your trip he/she must provide copy of his/her utility bills, bank statement showing enough money, pay slips and evidence of his/her employment. If you are sating in a hotel accommodation you must provide confirmed hotel booking covering the duration of your stay in Ireland. Do not book a flight because it is not required, but itinerary is fine. If you are a student in Nigeria you must provide letter from your school stating you are a full/part time student, the letter must state the lenght of your school holiday and expected date to resume back to school. A signed Letter of Undertaking from you stating you will observe the condition of your visa. Avoid money lodgement into your account
Here it goes:

Please I heard that Ireland embassy in Lagos are not receiving applications for now. How true is this info? I don't think that's true. I think they're accepting applications, but be careful to submit yours at least 3 months in advance of your intended departure. The embassy website stated that applicants should submit their applications at least two months before to their intended departure date. The Irish Embassy is well known for its slow visa processing. On Monday, October 24, they just began processing visa applications received on August 22nd. |
Re: *** General Irish VISIT/TOURIST VISA Enquiries *** by Ashirioluwa: 9:30am On Oct 29, 2022 |
Embassy of Ireland gives priority to business and employment visas than other types of visas.
Those who submitted applications for visit visas in the last week of August (August 22nd) should expect decisions on Monday 31. |

As of today, October 31, they have begun to process the applications (for visit visa) received at the embassy on August 23rd.
They are just too slow.
Out of 73 applications (for all visa categories) they treated last week from October 24 to October 30, only 21 was approved. |

Applications received at the Ireland Embassy in Abuja on August 23 and 24 were treated last week. Only 21 applications were processed during this period.
Today, they started processing those applications received from August 25. |

Biometrics were collected at the visa application center on August 24, but mailed to the embassy on Friday, August 26. I hope the embassy receives it the same day or on Monday, August 29. They are using the date they receive the application at the embassy, not the biometric date at the visa application center. |

My wife is suppose to resume school for Jan 2023 intake but unable to meet up with the appointment at VFS office today to submit her supporting documents. We called to reschedule to this Thursday Nov 17 but they declined.. saying we have to book another appointment. The school she intends going to agree on deferring her admission to 2023 September intake if there are any challenges. Considering the 12wks visa processing time as communicated to us by VFS/Ireland embassy, do you advice we should still go ahead and schedule another appointment for next week to submit her documents, hoping she will be issued the student visa before Jan 15th or defer the admission? |

Applications for visitor and business visas were not processed last week, August 21–27; only applications for conference, job, and study visas were processed. I hope they will treat visitor's applications this week because they haven't been doing that for the past two weeks, apart from applications from those who appealed their decision. |

My wife applied for a tourist visa in August 2022. Her travel date, as stated in the application, was from October 27 through November 3rd, so her travel date has passed.
Yesterday, she missed the deliveryman's call, but the man was able to deliver the passport today. Biometrics was done - August 24
Visa approved - valid from November 28 |
