This is an insane exchange in my mind, but I guess it's good to know your government is willing to go to extreme lengths to get you home, including trading a notorious illegal arms dealer for your release.

The main issue I have with Biafra agitation is that whenever I discuss with agitators and ask them why they want to separate almost all the reasons they give are always problems separation won't solve. at worst it'd postpone the problem.

I repeat, a presidency is more than just one person.

There are 2 major reasons people vote.
1. To vote FOR a person, his values or the ideology he represents.

2. To vote AGAINST a person, their values or ideology they represent.

Many at times, democracy will not offer you the very perfect candidate but will offer things closer to that.

Look at Biden, Biden is a very unispiring candidate but people voted for him because they were voting AGAINST trump and his MAGA ideology.

Same thing with Trump and the conservatives. Republicans voted for trump not because he represents their values or character but because they were voting against democrats and trump was best placed to put people with their similar ideology's in powerful places. Today they have conquered the supreme court and the US justice system with Trump confirming the most judges in American history. Most US courts are now filled with conservative judges.

Now back to Nigeria,
Despite APCs failure in governance, their victory has ensured that Nigeria is not like our next door neighbors like Cameroon and Gambia that has the same party or person's ruling them for 50 years. APC's victory has strengthend Nigeria's democracy.

An educated populace would care more about good governance than separation.

India is a country with more than 2,000 different ethnic groups far more than Nigeria's, and even closer to the entire ethnic groups of the entire African continent.

Today India has the world's 5th biggest economy and are estimated to get to number 3 with a 10 trillion dollar economy by the end of the decade.
What changed? Good leadership!

I believe there are situations where separation "can" be useful like in the case of Donbass, Donetsk and Luhansk which is part of why the war in Ukraine is happening. to simplify the situation someone who favours the Russians, who are the majority of people in those places, was elected president. the west didn't like that so they did some underground work that ended up removing a democratically elected leader and then installed one that favours the west. this made the people in those places revolt and said they no longer wanted to be part of Ukraine anymore. Ukraine military with the help of Azov Battalion Nazis then started bombing those people which is why they cried to Russia to help them. This is an oversimplified version of the event but I believe in a situation like this, call for separation is kinda valid



With that being said however I'm yet to be convinced about why Biafra needs to go logically.

That’s a stretch. India’s growing economy is not due to “great leadership” rather you could actually credit India’s japa crew who make a ton of remittances back home and also invest in global successful businesses like Zoho, Flipkart, Tata etc

A country of a billion people would have to work really hard to have a stagnant economy. Indians are blossoming inspite of the leadership instead of it.

Every single problem you have in Nigeria is obtainable in India–corruption, religious intolerance, superstition e.tc.

The caste system is worse than any tribalism Dayo could forment.
