Urislady: I found out that we are in a world well lies prevail, sell and succeed. Glory be to God Almighty for the success He has given to me so far home and abroad. I had despised government and their ways of life, all through my career, I never get near their Activities. However, people keep telling me, if we continue to shy away from the responsibilities of government, who will fixed things? Shall we continue to leave things for this people, that drew my attention and interest to applied for this job because I know how my knowledge, experience and network could add a quota. I was shortlisted, and never participated further as I can't moved out to write this type of silly test after clarifying that Nigeria predicaments are irreversible and irreparable until the day of resurrection. Was this the industry based test for professionals? Smiles! All they think and designed for is how to enriched their pockets, they don't really care about who get the job or not! |

Okonandmary: I reside in Abuja, it is 20 kilometers drive from my residence to NERC office. I was following the recruitment process from the start. What was supposed to be done was interview not the second stage test. Lek4sure was well right in his information after the test. Initially, it was to be a single test administered online or cbt center followed by interview. Unfortunately, the stakeholders involved wanted to make money. I personally later found out that they were more interested in making money than the recruitment. They designed and created this nuisance. I don't participate in unnecessary nuisance created by men for men's benefits. Sadly we found out that they were hidden stuff, and that is enough for us never to complete what we started. I wish those currently involved in the process the best of luck God will offer to them in Nigerian government affairs. What is going in and out of Nigeria and how Nigeria is being run and operate, it is enough for me to decide to surrender the country to them! I personally surrender Nigeria affairs to the elite as I had earlier did! God is sufficient for us outside Nigerian government elite affairs! Believe it, it would work for us! Nigeria has been compromised, Nigeria is not a country, it is a caucus 2 Likes |

Olowozain:Thanks boss. I actually wish you took the test. It was as easy as it gets. Change can never happen except we make an effort. I met someone there that works with a grade A (well to my Nigerianised opinion) parastatal, and still showed up for the NERC test. I guess he has his eyes set one of the advertised positions for Manager. 1 Like 1 Share |

Olowozain: it seems like you have a big microphone installed at Nerc office, which allows you to listen to every conversation through the speakers in your house btw, Why are you acting like this is not a standard procedure for any recruitment exams all over the world there are stages and if you qualify, you move up the ladder till you get recruited. 13 Likes |

Some people travel from a far for this but i totally get your points. Please try to see things through from your perspective and not rely on hearsay or random sources, you may miss out. |

I can understand Olowozain's point of view. I had been there before twice and it was a waste of time and resources on the two occasions. I wrote the test because it was brought down to my base, should I scale through and the interview won't be conducted virtually, that will be the end of the NERC journey for me. |

Heard many saying the test was as sweet as dodo.....also heard among the very few applicants to top positions complain of the questions being loaded......probably NERC is up to something again? Cos the criteria for assessing those who passed the first stage was not linear or just by points scored alone 2 Likes |

nikola: I am also very optimistic, but mine goes with passion and interest. Along the line, my moral values and their moral values do not match. This is a straight breaking up in any relationship! What are we moving again and Where are we moving it to when things does not match! As easy as the second test, if more than 70 people scored over 90 percent in a applied role, so third test will be considered or just rolling ballots to pick one or two from 70 people? Maybe that would take them another 2 months to decide! Decisions are made every two months of the last stage. We were cleared off the dubious stage is the final list. List are just approved without quality control checks on names for fraud and manipulation (unavoidably, names are individually contested, reshuffled, removed and replaced). The names that appear on the approved final list are the ones who are duly recruited. |

Olowozain:Trust me, I understand all you have thumbed. The best is to protect your mental health by applying and expecting the best. I agree it's a very hostile relationship we have got going in Nigeria but, it's you and I that makes the country livable. These vested interests that sabotage opportunities aren't foreign. They are in our midst, we hail them every day. I use we because tuface said "Nobody holy pass". Last last, na your interest you go lubricate. Funny as it sounds, I didn't even enjoy the test. Did I hear you say why? Well, because I have been used to competing against thousands of candidates and you can imagine my disappointment when I was seeing just two hundred gentlemen and ladies at my center. LoL FAQ Journalist - Have you gotten a job from these processes before? Nikola - You betcha! Two federal jobs. Journalist - So, why are you still hoping up and down like a billy goat? Nikola - Hey, language please. Anyways, I am still looking for that "unharamized" one that births honey and gold. LMAO |

I agree with you that the last test was so simple and less competitive making me think it was all a charade. But I realized that what I considered simple was difficult for others. I sat with people who applied for experience positions in Tariff and Rates, they struggled because the questions were not just mostly Economics, but Energy Economics related. Some of those I sat close to read Business and Marketing and confessed they've given up from the process. I wrote MSc. exams just 4 days ago on Energy and Petroleum Economics and you can understand how the NERC test will be for me compared with someone who read Business and does not understand what energy efficiency or negative externalities means and yet was confronted with such questions. The exam wasn't simple to all. Olowozain: 11 Likes |

nikola: And to a great extent, this sort (where vacancies are advertised for recruitment) is better for everyone, go out and compete instead of the normal slot sharing among politicians. It's better for us candidates as you know you can be picked just on merit even if the slots are few. If all agencies adopt this model, it's going to good, but in a situation these people think and believe you shouldn't rise to any station in life except through them, that portends danger. |

Raheeqilmaktoom:This is why we are supposed to imbibe the "healthy competition" syndrome in those coming behind us. Watching Morocco yesterday and other games made me realise something; "hardwork" trumps "unnurtured talent" all day, everyday. This is where we falter as a country. I wouldn't mind getting a juicy slot from a top govt. official because, I am human. Does that make me a hypocrite? Not necessarily because, I wouldn't mind competing too. 1 Like |

People are busy saying the test was easy. People have said same in numerous exams I've seen and at the end lots fail. Mind you many people that termed the exam as cheap as dodo will still get their dodo burnt beyond recognition. The only thing is to rest your hope on God shikenan and stop making noise on what's cheap and what's not cheap. 7 Likes |

Good Day everyone, How was the exams yesterday? Was it strictly based on what everyone applied for? I doubt. Anyway, I wish everyone good luck. For the doubting Thomas who said 4000 people were shortlisted against the 15000 I wrote here recently, I think he can now see from the number of people alone in his center (Over 200 per center). In Kano State alone, three (3) centers were used and each of the centers has nothing less than 200. Additionally, I have further information to share. If you believe, fine, If you dont, I care not! \ One important point I would like to make is that NERC is not Nigerian Police Force or Army, Civil Defence etc that can recruit 10,000, 20,000 at a go. It is a regulatory agency like NCC, SEC, NAFDAC and so on with limited number of positions to fill. At the initial stage of the recruitment, the Commission intended to recruit just 57 people. I repeat 57!!! i.e. minimum of 1 person per position at every branch where those positions were required. Then after when the pressure became too much (from those we all all know - The Politicians), they decided to double the figure to 114 and subsequently rounded it up to 150. About 15,000 wrote this exam and it will be mark by Jamb or one recruitment agency like that and not the Testmi again. "Whoever that did well in this exam (even if they are up to 1000 people) will be invited for interview and at the end, only 150 will be hired", Said my Credible Source. Referring to the Caliber of people we all saw at the venues yesterday, I dont see that as a problem because it is an EXPERIENCED HIRE. Truth to be told, you dont expect to see fresh graduates in EXPERIENCE HIRE recruitment (respect to the fresh graduates). Note: If the leadership of the commission can maintain their stand of not allowing external influence in this recruitment process, believe me, this recruitment will be one of the most transparent you have ever seen. The signs are there for all to see. Those who were shortlisted can attest to this. I know 5 people who are well connected with high ranking NERC staff but today, they didnt make it to this stage. Once again, I wish all of us Good Luck. 9 Likes 1 Share |
