Which social right is more than giving a girl child sound education?
Btw rich Igbomen buy properties for their daughters and 'will' properties to them too.
What women do not inherit is their father's compound in the village or family land farm lands, that is the inheritance of the male children as the daughters are supposed to get married and live in their husband houses where her children will inherit their father's family inheritance. In case she is unmarried she will live with her brothers in her father's compound.

This sums it up.

Do you remember Governors owns and issue CofO in Nigeria context, if that's applicable it mean your culture doesn't give a female child ownership right.

We still have more men in school way more than many regions in Nigeria that is a fact.
We believe and value our women and invest heavily on them.

Is there record to back this up, I think otherwise until I see reliable data

What made her Igbo woman?

By the time you get your Biafria of 5SE states, will you borrow Iweala to come and be your president?

Because Brazilians speak Yoruba doesn't mean Salvado will become president in Yoruba Nation
See phoolish analogy. How about kwara? They are northerners, they are not yoruba.

Let Iweala claim Igbo and not you assigning tribe to innocent woman, that's the greatest insult to a fellow human
What tribe did she tell you she was from? So if your parents are Yoruba, do I need you to come out and make a speech telling the whole world you are Yoruba?
You guys always say absurd things.
So let me ask you, is Obafemi Awolowo a Yoruba man? Do you have a record of him claiming to be Yoruba?

Your brothers have been civil enough. We can argue and be frank but should not be unnecessarily tribal.

You should have asked instead if Oritshajafor is a Yoruba man.

I think individual should be allowed to declare his or her identity rather than chosen one for them.

We you call Dele Momodu a Yoruba person?

Says who?
Didn't you hear Peter Obi said he is making savings for his children in one of his interviews. He have one daughter and one son and a billonaire like him will leave a lot of inheritance to his daughter.
Does your married sisters live in your father's compound?
Do your culture share ancestral farmlands to their daughters who lives in her husband house?
Anyway respect my culture as I respect yours. Some of you are married to your cousins so she can be given a share of your farm lands and family compound because she is still lives within the family. In Igbo culture we do not marry our relatives even to 8,9 10 generation.

That's an individual thing, but talking about a general culture is what we are discussing here.

Yeah civilisation, religion, exposure and personal conviction can make one deviate from cultural norm.

Maybe a better point can convince me but not this one

Yes my culture does that, and it appears you're like that same culture that limits the right of a female child on inheritance but only enjoy claiming a female child's glory you do not not respect

What of Oyedepo? Lol. Itsekiri is to Yoruba what Idoma is to Igbos.
Example Paul Enenche and Tuface Idibia are Idoma. Their names sound Igbo-ish but they are not igbos. This is completely a different scenario with igbos in Delta and Rivers

I asked you questions you left answered.
1)Does your married sisters inherit your father's compound?Mind you a man can have dozens of houses I mean the main family house that is what I am talking about. There is no law in Igboland stopping anybody from willing his personal property to his daughters even girlfriends sef.

Why wouldn't she live in your family house when she is married to a member of her family?

Why won't we take the glory after making heavy investment to train them in best schools in other to realise her full potentials abi na she train herself?

I tire oo. We invest in the girl child and give her out in marriage to befitting husband and someone is talking about inheriting Father property

I asked about Awolowo, is he a Yoruba man? Is Buhari a Fulani man?
Your point makes no sense. You are saying that we should wait for someone to tell his tribe first.
Is Davido a Yoruba man? I never heard him say he was Yoruba. The Alafin of Oyo is he Yoruba? Do you have any records of him claiming Yoruba?

Africa and world over has traditions and cultures that have outlived its time, such culture should be changed. One of it is the perception of Igbo culture not giving due right to a female child. Example is on farmland inheritance which none among Igbo on this thread has condemn.

Am not here to judge whether such practice is right or wrong, but just to ask what a female child thinks of that culture that deny her of her parents properties, how do you justify the success of a female child you denied of her right?

You see your ignorance? That culture only applies to village property which was inherited from far back ancestors. Any property purchased in modern times is subject to will in accordance with new laws brought by westernization. See, no culture is more flexible and adaptive to change than igbos
