You guys really have time to argue with miscreants who just love trolling. Their actions is just done out of envy. They called the coup that led to the Civil War, Igbo coup. But they forgot to mention that the officer was from Delta state. Some people can just f@@lishly be f@@lish. Adults will just take it upon themselves to trolling a whole tribe. Those are the kind of people that will take their bath, spray perfume and wear good clothes just to go and stand in the queue to vote in misfits and mental unstable candidates. Then they start complaining about poor state of the economy. Just imagine having such people as advisers to any government in power. Their ideas will just be full of bigotry and mediocrity.

Thanks this message. This is a nice summary of these folks. The same okonjo iweala that the fought tooth and nail when she was in Jonathan's government and accused her of all manner of things including tribalism.

Know your history and stop embarrassing yourself, Old Bendel was never Eastern region, it was formally in Western region and later became Mid-West comprising of the present Edo and Delta states

Maybe Yorubas in Kwara & Kogi r Hausas since those states r in the North.
Olusola,Bukola & Gbemisola Saraki should be regarded as Hausas & not Yorubas if ur perspective is anything to go by.

During endsars and early days of IPOB... Ngozi okonjo was dragged for keeping mute by Adamu Garba, insisting she was being tribal after all Nigeria did for her. Those urchins up there supported and agreed with him

Before you can make such an assertion of which states have the most tribes you must have a ranking of which state is second ,third etc and how many tribes they all have. You just wake up and say Delta has the most. On what basis? How many tribes are in Delta? Have you conducted any inquiry into how many tribes are in Plateau

Do you even know the meaning of the word TRIBE?

This is so succinct, many Igbo here like the OP arrogate authority to themselves whereas we have different tribes and ethnic who are autonomous in many aspects and cultures.

One of the major reasons for the creation of States is to address the minor problems that are peculiar to major tribes, Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa, while Yoruba we're the first to give room for minority autonomy the same thing cannot be said about the Igbo, they have continued to arrogate authority to themselves to the point of insult to the minority.

How will you tell my history when I am different from you, living close together or using a common name should never be a yardstick for such a silly opinion.

It has never been in history that Igbo conquered many tribes they are ascribing to themselves as Igbo, there was never root history that backs up this spurious claim.

For instance, the root history of Yoruba are well documented and known as spans up to Togo in the west, Lokoja, and Jebba in the north, and Delta, and Benin in the South, despite this undisputable claim, Yoruba don't tell these people what they are and should be.

No reasonable Yoruba person would tell Gbemi and Bukola who they are. It is an insult to preach such.

Allow tribes and ethnics scattered all over the southern region to define their identity, the arrogance of Igbo dictating the identity of others will keep alienating those people from them.

Ikwerre are NOT Igbo.

What is "Niger Delta" . That is totally irrelevant and incongruous as is your bringing in Ondo. It shows an unfocussed mind

First you must define what you mean by Niger Delta

The issue was about States and Regions which are clearly defined administrative regions there is no administrative Region called Niger Delta. Niger Delta as aterm has different definitions. The one that includes Ondo relates to OIL PRODUCTION and the benefits that accrue to oil producing States . So when you try to use Niger Delta to define PEOPLES you are derailing

Ikwerri is 100% Igbo

Names of Rivers state pass governors:
1. Odili
2. Amaechi
3. Wike

All these are Ikwerri people, all these names are Igbo names, Ikwerri even answer Obi and Ada, tell me these are not Igbo names, the language too is just a dialect of Igbo.

Name of Delta State current governor:

Ifeanyi

Tell me ifeanyi is not an Igbo name, about 50% of Delta state population are Igbos, Delta igbo answer names like Ekene, Chichi, Ijeoma, Kelechi, Chioma, Ndidi.
Tell me these are not Igbo names?
Our language as well is a dialect of Igbo, I hear Igbo language and Igbos hear us as well

Just because the government drew an artificial line on paper and declared Rivers state and Delta State as south south doesn't stop the Igbo people in these 2 states from being Igbo.

Just like the Yorubas in Benin Republic, people answering names like Segun, Bola, Adewale and also speak Yoruba, are you telling me that they are no longer Yoruba people just because the British and the French drew an artificial map to separate them from the larger Yoruba population in Nigeria?

I know you know the truth, you don't just want to agree, but wether you agree or not, it doesn't stop the Ikwerri or Delta Igbo people from being Igbo, we will continue to answer igboid names like Ifeanyi, Amaechi, Ijeoma because that is the only culture we know, it cannot be erased by anyone. The truth remains the truth wether you choose to believe it or not

This long epistle just because I want to celebrate this great Igbo woman called Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, is not necessarily

If you are arguing wether Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is Igbo or not, then click the link below of her 2020 BBC Igbo interview

In the first minute of the interview, while introducing her self, she says in the Igbo language:

I am Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, a native of Ogwashiuku, I am an Igbo person from Delta State.

So no need for any more argument about Dr Okonjo Iweala's tribe

That is no reason for Spanish to claim Portuguese are Spanish
You cannot determine who is Igbo based on SO CALLED Igbo names
The Problem you have is you have closed your mind and are impervious to reazson or logic
In your worldview they MUST BE Igbo by force
They Said it themselves and sought recognition even before Independence when they went to the Willinks Commission. Was there any Igbo sub group that went to Willink's Commission? in the 1950s before independence
They formed Ogbakor Ikwerre and have commissioned THEIR OWN
IKWERRE BIBLE
Again do not take my word for it go and look for a copy of the 1979 Constitution. Ikwerre are recognized as distinct.
IKwerre have said THEY ARE NOT IGBO

So what is your problem?

Is it by force?
All that nonsense you are talking about Igbo names is just that NONSENSE
Wike told you he is not Igbo. There is a video where he even stated the meaning of his name but you are determined to force him to be Igbo. Why?
