Honestly these boys are making us proud

Even Arab world is crazy for Rema. My daughter went to her Arab classmate party last weekend and my wife told me the Arab mums were all dancing calm down dance

The one wey shock me na when I see my CEO dey sing "I need Igbo and Shayo" for work Xmas party

Bruh I did a weekend jn Paris last month and one of the spots I went to was playing only Afrobeats the entire time. The crowd were singing bar for bar word for word, and na me and my boy be rhe only dudu for there.

Even the DJ was white. Its end of November so its nor tourist season, and even the bar itself was in the corporate area of Paris, literally 5 minutes walk from the Ministry of Finance building. It was a Friday night, so almost everybody there was on an after work P.

Rema in particular seems to be huge in Europe right now. I've been a couple of places this year and Calm Down and Dumebi must be heard in the clubs.

Soo, if say, all the 720 different tribes want to break up, the country should be split into 720 different parts??
As things stand now, only Ibo and Yoruba tribes want to leave the union and form Biafra Republic and Odua Nation respectively.

If Nigeria breaks up, the major tribes will accommodate the minorities. Even there are minorities in some of the countries formed from the Soviet Union.

The tribes that can't coexist should go their separate ways.

The smallest tribe in Nigeria has more population than Vatican City, the smallest country in the world by population.

However, I prefer regionalism to outright breakup.

Still, I predict Nigeria will experience regionalism or breakup in the future.

You don't have to stretch arguments to ridiculous proportions. It's not possible for all 720 tribes to want to break, you know this, I don't know why you're choosing to hinge your entire argument on a ridiculous scenario.

Okay now we're talking, but the question still remains unanswered, what are the 4 regions Nigeria should be broken into??

Nigeria has about 20 different tribes with at least 5 million people.
Take Benue state for instance, the 2 major tribes there are tiv and idoma and these 2 tribes hate themselves, do you think they would like to be together in a new country together?
What of Benin people in Edo, they were practically a kingdom before, what if they seek to be a new country?

What about the tribes of the riverine South south; the kalabari, the ogoni, the isoko, the itsekiri, the Anan, the Ibibio, the urhobo etc etc. All these tribes with at least 5 million people, should they be new countries if they seek to?

So I ask again, how practical will the break up of Nigeria be and into how many components, seeing as Nigeria has over 700 indigenous tribes?
Cc A001
You claim homogeneity is critical for a nation's success, the most culturally homogenous countries of the world, are they the most successful?

By this your post you are highlighting the tiny nations of the world and I'm asking you; do you think Nigeria can or should be broken up into 500 Vatican nation states since ""The smallest tribe in Nigeria has more population than Vatican City, the smallest country in the world by population"".

Listen whether we break up or not, we can move forward it we want to. I keep using India because they share sooo much similarity with us.

India has 2000 different ethnic groups. Almost as large as the entire African continent and they're still moving forward as the largest democracy on earth whose economy is also growing to be the biggest in Asia.

Nigeria can do much better in spite of our multiculturalism. Not blaming colonial master's here and there.

I said that we must shed our primitive thinking and adapt not go backwards. You phrase it like I'm saying we would absolutely fail if we don't.

I'm saying our adaption and evolution will only continue, that's a fact. Not us going backwards to start highlighting individual tribes.

India has 2000 ethnic groups but most of them adopt English and or Hindu. That's how they move forward.

Yes, let's say even 1\8 of that wants to breakup. Do you think Nigeria should be broken into 50 different countries?

You're just a confused person. One minute you're advocating monoculturalism; next minute, it's multiculturalism.

Nigeria can do better in spite of our multiculturalism, yet you're campaigning for the abolishment of all local cultures and adopting the white man's culture.

You're so confused.

Anyone that knows the history of how Nigeria was set up by the British knows the country was created on a faulty foundation that can't last.

It was created primarily to serve the interest of the colonial masters and not the peoples merged together forcefully as one.

It can't last.

Most of Nigeria has adopted English, so having a common tongue is far from what's our problem. In fact, I'd argue that much of our problem comes from not differentiating enough; individual states should function almost as some federating unit in itself, just as in the US.

The 50 different states of the US have distinct economies, governments, accents, and even styles of dressing, ultimately creating states with each distinct cultures. Of course, there's an overlap of culture here and there, but they all try very much to be distinct, and excellent.

Most Indians speak Hindi, not English. But English is one of the country's 22 official languages.

Hindi is the first most spoken and understood language in the country, followed by Bengali.

India is a multilingual society.

People might not like themselves doesn't mean they want or are ready to form a country by themselves; you must recognize this fact.

Gideon Orka proposed excising certain NW and NE states from Nigeria; let's stretch it and say all NW and NE states, do you think Nigeria would have progressed better without the NW and NE states? I think a Nigeria of just the SS, SE, SW and NC would have done better than what we have today.

Language divides us. But what makes nations to collapse is religion.

Nigeria is not just divided by language but also by religion. More interestingly, the religious divide is along geographic and ethnic lines which makes us the more unique compared to other multilingual and multireligious societies.

If we don't come together now and regionalise, a breakup is very eminent.
