But on a serious note, Nigerians wanted something new not named PDP and ignored the massive red flags on display back then like we're seeing in Baba Blu right now.

My point is, that we failed with Buhari doesn't mean we now throw away our rights to determine leaders who should lead us. Obi might not have all it takes according to you but what will happen when this APC led government continues ruling?

There's always the best among the rest, I hope you change your mind and vote.

If Nigeria's problems would go away by voting in a saint, then Obi has to be the man, because he's the lesser thief amongst all

But we need plans...Plans that are realistic.

I can boldly say i have listened to Obi more than most of you here. I had to log into YouTube with another email, because the algorithms was always suggesting Obi talks and Obi.

That guy looks different, but he is not saying anything different. There is no difference between what he is saying and what the others are saying....All talk, no plan.

I hope you vote him oh. Just don't be disappointed when you don't see a better Nigeria that you envisaged. It is right there before your eyes

This right here as annoying as it sounds is the truth.

A001:
Complaining daily here changes nothing unless you vote. Complaining here daily when you won't be voting looks silly to me.

The way forward is to keep changing leaders till we get it right, not ranting daily online which is just noise-making unless you take a real action to effect change offline by voting.

America, the UK, France and other First World countries countries didn't just develop by their citizens making a noise online without voting.

They voted to deepen their democracy and change bad leaders till they got it right.

Power can be solved with the right policy direction. Before 2000 how many Nigerians had telephone lines but through the introduction of mobile telephones millions all over the country both of low and high status can now communicate without having to beg or bribe NITEL.
States should be able to generate and transmit electricity. A PPP is the way to go.

Some states are already equipped to be self-reliant in terms of electricity.

Disstr.oy today explained how the ICT sector is booming even with inadequate power that should tell you the possibilities that exist if we just continue to stubbornly demand and work for a better working society.

Will it be easy? no but evidence of progress in some areas still gives me hope no matter how small.

I do have to add that the record in the ICT sector is just down to the sheer never-die spirit of the average Nigerian. The policies don't help us ala crypto and remittances.
Power is still a major challenge as techies depend on alternative sources of power as backup, and completely in some places.

The government did nothing to help Flutterwave, PayStack, and the likes. Government did nothing to help techies connect with Silicon Valley too.
Banks don't have packages to fund ICT but have special packages for oil and gas.

How techies in Nigeria did it is a miracle. But we have that record and I'd flaunt it to everyone proudly.

He just wants to come here and keep finding or listing problems without proferring a solution..

I mean nigga if you care enough about politics you should offer practical solutions on how to move forward. Not coming here everyday to find one problem or the other.

We already know the problem here, we're talking way forward now.

Yes you're right this has forced government to take notice. The recently signed start up bill and investment in improved internet connectivity by google and starlinks will only make the sector grow even further.

I disagree a bit about lack of government support for flutterwave I remember their former CEO Aboyeji mentioning somewhere how Lagos state partnered with them on something like that but can't speak for FG sha.

That [Obi] looks different, but he is not saying anything different. There is no difference between what he is saying and what the others are saying....All talk, no plan.

Actually, Obi is the only one of the front 3 who has done what he's saying in an elected position.

- He's not stolen government funds. One of the few governors with no allegations of stealing or EFCC case.
- He's the only one who ran a lean governance style in office. Tinubu was wasteful. Atiku too.

Cut the cost of governance and you'd have half our problems solved.

For example, the Akwa Ibom State Government budgeted #4 billion for education in 2018 but #10.1 billion for "overhead costs" in that year alone which is running government. Private jet, entourages, funding SAs and PAs, sitting allowance...

If it was cut down to #2.1 billion, imagine what #8 billion would do for the state when pulled into the education sector?

That's why a proven Peter Obi is a necessity!

You have not had the courage to admit you were foolish for forcing Buhari on Nigerians

You didn't hear his plans. You didn't scrutinise his policies. All you saw was Peak milk and Milo, and you campaigned heavily for Buhari.

It wouldn't be an insult to call you a fooool for that, but i won't

Now, the same YOU is promoting a man with an agenda that is unrealistic. Just Consumption to Production mandate, with no clear cut plan to see it out. When he flops, you will shift to another candidate and start your promotion profession

If anybody should have wisdom here, it is to avoid the choices you make. You are terrible at making choices.

I hope you keep me out of your mentions concerning politics. I will not vote Obi.

The closest platform for tech founders which seems serious is the Lagos Angel Investment Network. Even that is more of a consortium of private individuals and, erm, cliquey if you are in the tech space.

What stops government from saying, Microsoft come into Nigeria, set up your hubs in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. We'd give you a 4-year tax break but outsource xyz to Nigerian techies then ABC would...?
---

Wike dashed out #300 million to Sanwo Olu's campaign 2 months ago to troll Atiku. 3 fintechs in Port Harcourt needed that amount to become giants in early 2021. More are seeking funding.
Almost the amount Canva needed in 2013 to become a $21 billion company today.

It all boils down to cutting wastage. That's one of the key reasons Obi appeals to me. That's why a cerebral and vibrant leader like Osinbajo as president appealed to me during the primaries.

Maybe only Flutterwave, but for every Flutterwave, you have a Gokada kicked out of the market by infantile government policies.

They did nothing for Flutterwave. Those guys and PayStack scrapped the floor for everything. Only private connected individuals came through for them. But the Lagos Angels Investment Network (LAN) is still the closest to anything serious we have. They are individuals still.
LASG did nothing for them.

Yeah the tech bros really liked PYO. I also just zoned out once he lost the primaries. Anytime I see him in international engagements like his last outing with Kamala Harris I just SMH at the missed opportunity his presidency would have provided.

I believe he has done his homework to a certain extent and ready for diplomatic row with Western World on Climate Change.

He said, he's gonna use coal to power Nigeria, but if western world want us to use gas, they must help us with funds to complete Gas Pipeline Project to Europe.

He believes the Project will be a game changer if completed. More money to start and complete infrastructural Projects.

Many Nigerians do not know PYO is the reason the presidency assented to the Startup Bill quickly. He held a thousand meetings with techies without much media coverage for a few years and kept pushing for it.

Governance in Nigeria is bedevilled by leaders who make knee-jerk decisions when they should be actually thinking through the far reaching effect of their decisions .

I worked with a team that had something to do with one of the popular bike hailing services not named Gokada prior to the ban of bike men on highways . Like these guys with the bike-hailing service were making cool cash, paying their taxes , doing their normal CSR and even offering more and more employment opportunities to youth that would’ve been criminals .

These guys took loan to expand their business by buying more bikes and Lagos state government wakes up one day and puts them out of business ! Imagine already almost clearing your goods in the port and government declares trading in that line of business is now a crime shocked

Things dey happen for this country sha .

No but I read a lot about it.

Work at a place that is a big partner of the tech sector.

Yes PYO really pushed hard for facebook and microsoft to invest in Nigeria. I remember his trips to carlifornia that year.

Have you thought of volunteering to help Obi formulate a roadmap for the tech sector because I think whichever candidate wins we need to make sure that angle is covered.

I know Iyin contributed his thoughts to helping BAT formulate his.
