Legalize guns for Nigerians and see all Nigerian police brouhaha going down the drain. Na that gun wey dey police hand dey make them behave like gods, hence abusing their power to oppress, vilify and extort Nigerians. If police are given a sense that average Nigerians are now a gun owner, like in the USA, they will calm down, because they know any gbagbos they do can also attract equal gbagbos from Nigerians.

A Black man will always abuse the power given to him, people are talking about the police, what about the civil servants in government offices, those ones can rob you of your money and still insult you on top of it. Na the person wey happen to go tell you him own story. So there must be checks and balances to counteract any power given to a Nigerian.

So that is why I will enjoin Nigerians to vote someone like Peter Obi into power that will listen to their daily experiences with those working in government. Peter Obi is of the youths and will always listen to their crying and the solution they proffer to him. Nigerians, this election is not about Igbos, Yoruba, Hausa or Fulani. It is about the common man like you against the system and what changes you can effect in government to make sure you are a free man in your own country. Vote for someone that will listen to you when you are going through a sordid experience like Nigerian police.

There is a town in my state if someone wants to curse you, they will say to you "may your child join the police force". And the person being g cursed will return the curse with immediate effect.

You can imagine, how bad it is.

The police needs total reform. Nothing less than 50% of the present police force need to be sacked and new people recruited.

As it is now, the bad culture of the police, from extortion, robbery, killings of innocent citizens, bribery, corruption, human right abuses etc from different reports and incidences has dented the image of the police so badly that people only see police and not individuals.

Hence the generization.

London police is cultured and never gets involved in human right abuses.

My late step dad was a policeman.

My guy had an accident. Car somersaulted and flipped severally. He was lucky to be alive. In the process of the accident, he damaged 1 streetlight. Police towed the car to the station and arrested him for damage of public property. They didn't take him to the hospital. I personally begged on behalf of the guy cos it was in the evening, the female IPO didn't listen. She wanted bribe. Eventually, the guy paid and we took him to the hospital.

Following week, we went to the LG Secretariat around. They connected us with those in charge and eventually didn't collect a kobo to replace the streetlight, they even commiserated with my friend.

Because replacing the streetlight is food for them.

My friend rejected a marriage proposal from a guy back in 2014, they both went to uniben, he entered NPF with his degree so he was in a fairly decent position.

Dont blame the man for his bad and unfriendly comment abt the police,from his tone, he may have had a very nasty experience with the police. It is disheartening that for the pass 2 decades Nigeria is yet to have an incomparable police system in Africa. Our own may not actually be the worst, bt i think we are yet to have the best.
