There's literally no way that a Peter Obi presidency can live up the expectations some of his fans are heaping on his head.

I don't believe he will win, but I believe if he does, he would wish he hadn't, and Obidients will have to deal with the shock of reality.

As a politician, it is always better to be underrated than overrated. If you don't curb your enthusiasm and manage your expectations, you will be in for a rude awakening.

I take no pleasure in saying this.
bro he will fail. His failure will be monumental. There's absolutely nothing Peter Obi, Atiku or Tinubu can do. The salvation of Nigeria rest on the hands of Nigerians. The same Nigerians who see it as their God given right to misbehave and disobey rules and regulations with reckless abandon.

Did you notice how not just the economy, but our values, ethics and morals always take a nose dive anytime a new president is sworn in?

Things will only get worse because the mind of the average Nigerian is corrupt beyond redemption and the system that is suppose to prevent that corruption has been corrupted by Nigerians.

can't call you a pessimist but just point out who isn't corrupt.??.

Human by default are corrupt and would go for a fast and easy link,/way to get what they want and only the system can quash that urge....

It lies in the hand of the gov to make a strict law or put in a working system to restrict the corrupt act..

Saying something cannot work is just being in d dark .....

Atiku should get 10% in Lagos. Now split 90% between Tinubu and Obi

But isn't Peter Obi already underrated?

His detractors have said:
-He has no structure.
- He's no godfather who has politicians knowtowing to him.
- An LP-less NASS would frustrate him.
-The old guard would frustrate him.
- Northerners would always make a Southern President's tenure hellish for him.

We already know what he'd be up against.

But we also know he's not a thief. And given the monies and resources stolen daily in this country, if we block the drainpipe, we'd have enough money to fix a number of things. Like settle ASUU and fund education properly to begin with.

First, we want to make sure a thief doesn't get to Aso Rock this time and the only person who does has no embezzling tag on him.
yeah right. Yet he was fingered in the Pandora scandal. I heard that. grin

of course. This is how we support corruption, Saying exactly what you just said. Do we really need a system in place to stop us from being corrupt

It lies in the hand of the gov to make a strict law or put in a working system to restrict the corrupt act..

if that strict law is put in place, I'm telling you Nigerians will react negatively to it, and say the government is hunting them, while the government is enjoying the same thing it is hunting them for.

Nigerians like to make silly excuse to justify their corrupt habit.

So sad seeing this news on the front page. It's very saddening.

I think the joblessness in Africa is getting too much, that's why people seem to have so much time on their hands to care about what others choose to do with their lives.
I see people always wailing about gays, unmarried/divorced women and women wearing bikini on front page threads and I just shake my head in silence.
I don't know about others but my level of not a giving a fvck has risen 100% in recent years. It can never be my business if someone choose to be gay, wear bikini, divorce/cheat on their partner or become ashawo. Weytin concern me? I no send anybody papa for this life oh, na only weytin dey give me money I dey reason twice.

Just go through the thread and see people expressing joy about a fellow human being getting killed because of different beliefs. Tomorrow when boko haram behead same people because of different beliefs that they share they'd expect you to be sympathetic.

Your head dey there!!! There is no country on this planet that doesn't have corrupt elements and entities within it, what minimizes the level of their corruption to low levels is the presence of strong institutions that serves as a deterrence to them.

Strong institutions help in placing a checkmate on the corrupt politicians. Brazil, south Korea, Argentina, Japan, Singapore etc are examples of countries that has had several of it's immediate past presidents sent to jail on account of corrupt practices.

If a politician knew that his assets and everyone else's were public knowledge and very traceable with his tax records public, they would be hesitant to waste public funds anyhow.

If efcc were functioning as designed, several presidents, judges, senators and governors will be in jail not just used as a coercion or political witch-hunting tool.

But the executive arm of government is responsible for efcc functioning effectively.

A president with a WILL to strengthen our institutions, either by executive orders or legislation will have the support of the masses. He just has to have effective communication with the citizens.

Strong institutions are the solutions to public corruption. Politicians are the ones that institute the system in place. By system we mean, financial institutions, the judiciary personel (politicians appoint judges), investigate and prosecution agencies and personel (efcc and icpc). And laws pertaining to anti-corruption practices.

The masses are responsible for the elected politicians. We elect our senators, we elect our governors, we elect our president.

So the onus falls on us to elect the best options always taking those steps is the ONLY way things can change.

OR

You could bury your head in the sand like a coward and give in to hopelessness and keep wailing everyday as to how things keep getting worse without offering a solution.

The Northerners in Lagos will be voting APC and PDP, not saying Atiku won't see anything, but e go small, Jandor sef no sure of anything not to talk of hustling votes for Atiku.

Atiku should see over 10% sha, and Tinubu should win, but Peter Obi might just pull a surprise in Lagos.

“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is even healthier than me as I have diabetes and hypertension, which he has none. Even the early Parkinson’s disease people talked about is just lack of sleep. Once he gets enough sleep, he will be asymptomatic.

“Leadership is not like an unskilled labour of carrying bags of cement. It’s more of a mental work than physical. Former Presidents Theodore Roosevelt, Abdelaziz Bouteflika and Daniel arap Moi of America, Algeria and Kenya respectively led their countries through economic prosperity while on wheelchairs,” Mr Shettima explained.

It was FDR not Theodore Roosevelt. There is also a difference between mainly motor diseases like Polio or GBS (one of which FDR had) and Parkinson’s which is a continuously progressive disease which ultimately affects both motor and cognitive actions. FDR for instance would never lick a mic.

Atleast he admitted d Parkinson disease we have been afraid of

I think a certified doctor in Afrodoc should tell us how possible it is to be caused by lack of sleep

Poor sleep, stress, anxiety etc can definitely make the symptoms more difficult to control, however even if all those are sorted it still is a progressive degenerative disease caused by deposition of bad chemicals and the ongoing death of cells in certain parts of the brain.

Over time the symptoms will continue to get worse and medications will stop working. It might start with just tremors or poor balance but over time the person’s ability to reason well and control bodily motions will become affected. About half will become either depressed or psychotic.

Yes we do. It's how it works in every country. It's how they are able to maintain a working system. Without the strict laws in place and adhered to nothing works. Nothing.

Almighty Saudi had to change their law to accommodate the GOHT...
They change their laws in certain circumstances just like they change certain aspects of the religion when the situation warrants it.

Looking at this development and how the mosques in Saudi including the Kabbah were closed at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, it becomes clear even to the blind that religion is man-made.

It's humans pulling the strings, and religious people only worship their fellow (wiser) humans they see as god/God.

If it was during the days of ignorance (such as the periods Christianity and Islam were designed), people would have built a religion around Ronaldo (he has been deified as a god already just like Allah would have been deified as a god at some point in the past) and some fools would kill for Almighty God Ronaldo like Amoto and fight others online like those two e-jihadists in defense of their man-made God.

But humans are wiser now and don't see Ronaldo's great exploits as supernatural or spiritual the way our forefathers used to worship gifted people as a god, and our kids will even be wiser and see the thing called religion as man-made and religious gods as a mere human construct.

My fear about the Muslim-Muslim ticket has always been about these fanatics/fundamentalists who litter states across the northern parts of the country . These people have been marginalizing Christians and traditionalists who are much in places like Kebbi , kaduna south , and most parts of the of the northeast .

Can u imagine him making such statements below :

The import of today's sitting is to let the clerics and indeed all Muslim leaders know that the Muslim/Muslim ticket is not about mere promises of bringing dividends of democracy like road and infrastructure. This ticket is about the supremacy of Islam. This ticket has honoured Islam. Therefore, we'll honour it with our ballots.

Imagine they are not even after dividends of democracy; they are concerned about making a statement about the supremacy of a particular religion in a country where there are more than major religion .

It might be difficult for any nonsense MURIC down here in the south to say he wants to organize some maximum shishi because I don’t believe in the direction he prays to ( Him sef go collect normally ) , but same cannot be said about those in the north . The Muslim-Muslim ticket will only emboldened the mob down their and we will hear more of Deborah cases judging by the utterances of this Islamic cleric
