izzou: This scam happens in PH as well. You see them with their puff-puff or doughnut on the ground forming one fake cry . The Nigerian I know whose doughnut falls on the ground will simply pack it, clean and sell to an unfortunate buyer. These ones will make no effort whatsoever to pack the doughnuts on the ground. |

Itsrm: The worst scammers for me are the one's in the parks that weaponize religion. The "mobile preachers". They position at motor parks and enter every traveling vehicle. After praying for travelers, they bring up a fake project or so they are doing and use emotional blackmail on the travelers. I usually have a fun time putting them down hard when I get the opportunity, especially when they use emotional blackmail, "if you don't support the mission of the lord, how do you expect him to protect you on your journey". Omo, I call him a scammer and a terrible person for preying on gullible people. The simplest way to silence them is to ask the driver and conductor, how long they've been doing what they're doing. 2 Likes |

Donjazet2: No wonder you're like this online I don't believe a word they say and I don't think their prayers have any effect on the journey but I allow them do their thing. You will be surprised that what they (the mobile preachers) do has a "placebo effect" on certain passengers in the vehicle. I am not going to take that away from them and I don't think you should. |

Itsrm: I hate when I see people prey on people's emotions. Some actively inject fear into the people's mind to make them give them money. Knowing that these "preachers" are actually very fake and do it for the hustle just makes me mad times 10. The preacher that made me first tackling these kind of people is the one that actually came for me because I was pressing my phone while he was preaching, I dey mind my business jeje, this nincompoop single me out as "agent of darkness" because I no dey listen to him bullshite, after finishing him that day I swore that whenever I travel in public again, I go get their time wella. 2 Likes |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 10:12am On Jan 07, 2023 |
Itsrm: I don't support that kind of ministry. Supporting it means I'm supporting laziness and covetousness. You want to pray for passengers? Fine Do that and leave. Which one be support again? |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Itsrm(m): 10:18am On Jan 07, 2023 |
izzou: I've actually seen some who don't ask sha. They just pray and ask the driver to drop them. People start giving them out of their own free will. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Donjazet2: 10:20am On Jan 07, 2023 |
izzou: The thing is the fact that there isn't actually any "project" being carried out. They are actually lying to the unsuspecting travellers in God's name. |

Elder0001: That's what pains me the most. "Christians actually being satisfied with someone being killed for doing something they don't like. It's just sad seeing it. I saw a thread on Twitter about this issue and the responses to this crime were just insane. You see people saying, don't do something that is unpopular in a society. Really?? So no appraisal of the brave anymore. I was telling people on that frontpage post, today it's a gay person being killed, tomorrow it can be you being killed for holding hands with your babe in Abuja. It's tiring. Look at the security forces for example from customs to police all the way to the army. Saboteurs and traitors selling weapons and enabling criminals and terrorists to continue ruining the country thinking foolishly it won't touch them or their families in the long run. Speaking realistically I honestly don't know if in the next 100 years corruption in Nigeria can greatly be reduced (that is if the country is even still existing in its present form). It has become so entwined in our national psyche that removing it will be akin to almost amputating a vital part of your body. I'm seriously at a loss as to how this deadly problem will be sorted. chrisooblog: Just as we spoke about Real estate investment on this thread yesterday Someone yesterday In Nigeria was telling me how a tenant in their boys quarters did illegal bypass electricity connection so he can avoid paying bills and the boys quarters caught fire from an electrical issue burning 3 other units So the landlords investment is gone. And it's not like many people in Nigeria have insurance So what are you going to do about that one now? That tenant will also claim Nigeria is corrupt while he can't even do what's right to his landlord Seankafor every transaction in the world involves certain level of trust. The bank you are keeping your money how do you know they are not planning to run away with your deposit? The bus you enter how do you know the driver knows how to drive and he's not going to plunge you into a river? The mama put you eat how do you know she's not serving you with rotten animals? The example of the nepa illegal connection do you expect Nepa to be coming into every house in Nigeria to be checking your connection daily to protect them BTW Sean Ive been trying to ask for some time? did you resolve your project issue? NYSC and job market next right? And how did you know your supervisor will read the work and not give your project to another student You see the trust chain in every transaction you do Even driving is based on the trust that those in opposite lane won't suddenly swerve to face you at speed 1 Like |

GloriousGbola:This is NOT specific to Nigerians alone. It's human nature to want to form oversabi and bypass the system. It how we are built. Take over speeding for instance - Most people (all over the world) don't over speed not because they are nice or not Nigerians, they don't over speed because they don't want to pay a fine or lose their license. That's accountability and enforcing a system that is in place. If you don't enforce a system, it is basically non-existent. 2 Likes |
