I was invited for the interview on Friday and I am confused on whether to go or not if I won't be disqualified because of it. I already sent a mail to their HR but I didn't get any response. What can I do please?

Ask yourself this, what is the worst that could happen?

Go, don't give up,let them know the truth, it's not about the certificate but what you can really offer ... So many fake certificates and so many real certificates but unserious and unqualified candidates. If a company really see you have what it takes to take up the role then they can give you the chance to tender your certificate after your pop. All the best but try go don't give up

Don’t let me slap you, go there, you have nothing to lose by going there, go and get more experience, you aren’t losing anything.

They can even select you because of your eagerness to work.

—If you don’t go for the interview, the surest thing is that you won’t get the job.

—If you go for the interview and you perform well, there is possibility that you can still be considered for the job.

You are not losing anything if you go, the last thing is that they might not give you the job. So I’ll advise you just go and see what happen.

Still go for the interview. Documentation might not be done on same day/week.

This NYSC certificate may not be required at this stage, why exposing your wickness, who asked you to send mail to HR.

Aah this is a good time to share my experience.

I was in the same shoe with you about 5 years ago.

I scaled all the hurdles and got to the final assessment center . The only problem was this NYSC certificate.

What did I do? I went there like that. I was turned down by the overzealous human resource contractors handling the recruitment (Dragnet I think). Anyway my stubborn head no be here, I identified the key HR contact for the bank on the grounds and concisely stated my case. She took one look and said , let him in!

That was how I entered and did the interview. Of course I got the offer..

When training school resumed, I still didn’t have the Certificate. There was still one week left. I resumed on Monday but passing out was Thursday.. everyone was given ID card expect me and 1 other guy in my situation…lol…because we were without ID card. I went to Benin on Wednesday to get my certificate and handed it over and I was issued my ID card.

I and the HR person have since left the company for much better things. Infact she is now the global hiring manager for Heineken. God bless you Nkechi!!

To answer your question, please attend the interview and be ready to make a clear case why you should be given a chance. Make it clear that your passing out date is by the corner.

Prayerfully go for the interview and ensure u impress the interviewers. I had the same issue when i went for the final stage of a bank's interview few weeks to my passing out. After the interview one of the panel member gave me his email and i forwarded my discharge certificate as soon as i was done. I got the job although i had to join another stream for resumption.

I had similar issue during my service year, so i was asked to report with a written cover letter from your LGI or Zonal Inspector NYSC.
