This is very bad.
All the students involved should be severally dealt with on the assembly ground and suspended thereafter.
That will serve as deterrent to other bad students from attacking either corpers or any teacher

that will aggravate the situation,as they will unleash more pain on the corp member from home.

The Corp member should just mind his business and let the uncultured children flex their muscles on their parents at home.

It'd normal nah.. those days in mid 90s and late early 20s we use to carry cutless to school, who ever do the cutting to a stubborn teacher or senior prefect will be a hero , widely talked-about and celebrated as legend.. kpere the wound go heal fast nah some cutting nah grin

Time dun reach to dey arrest kids from 12years old. Not your regular arrest, but special arrest. A kid from 12 to 16, if you draw blood for person body, dem go carry you go for 1 month, your parents go sign say if you sick or die during arrest or your stay under arrest, say dem no fit sue the gov, but any major sickness or death go require automatic investigation.
After 16, you go face regular court and get regular general punishment.

As for those kids, say na 12, dem go arrest am with other 12 years old, and if he lie for him age, the punishment go restart. So, if a 12 years old does something like this, dem go arrest the boy, do forensics, and use that evidence for juvenile court; his/her parents or caretaker go come court, they will be shown evidence like everyone in court and for record keeping, then they will be given the opportunity to sign the paper of sickness/death liability, na this time you go get chance to tell them about any known sickness, if down the line, dem find out say your pikin no get that sickness, you go get like 2 years jail time. Anyway, after you sign the papers after judgement, dem go send am to prison with other 12years old. Everyday, den go wake up at 6 am, dem go dress their bed, dem go get 30 mins to brush teeth, shower, and put on their clothes, and stand by their lockers, then another 20 mins to eat and take the paper plate to the trash - and their trays to the sink,; after that, everybody will go to their assignment post, whether na cutting grass, or cleaning the road around the prison with chains on their legs, or washing dishes, or everybody uniform, or even going to clean around any primary or secondary schools. etc. Them go feed them 3 times a day,

For 12 years old --- every 1st punishment of this magnitude without resulting in death suppose be 1 month punishment, with daily letter or audio message or email from the detention facility, of am sorry. For 2nd crime in the same age, na 5 weeks with more duties.

For 13 years old -'--- 1st punishment na 5 weeks, then appropriate punishment

For 14, ----6 weeks

For 15 -----7 weeks

for 16 ------- 8 weeks

We as a society also need to start at the elementary level, teaching students about civil obedience. You cannot disrespect an elder (anyone over 60 for any reason except life threatening or proof of mental illness on both parties or any party), we are talking even verbal disrespect. this is also for any teacher in any school in Nigeria, so it should be effective on any school premises. If younger than 60, then punishment will start when it can be proven you draw blood or disfigure someone.

We need to start instilling this kinds of ideas and consequences, from primary 3, so make it a mandatory one of the 1st day of class subjects, tell them the idea and consequences and shoe them videos of current convicts doing work.

We have to find a way, because Nigeria has already gone to the dogs, but it is now becoming a kernel.

Wetin the corper do wey dem attack am?

Is there a history of violent attack on other corpers by the students?
Was the attack targeted at all corpers in the school or just that corper?
What is the antecedence of that corper? Does he for example molest the students sexually or other form of ill-treatment?

The case should be investigated, and the students should be punished and reprimanded but the corper should also be investigated.

I suggest during NYSC corpers should be given orientation about their posting environment, human relations, student management etc.

I enjoyed my service year in the North ( when the north was the north) corpers are treated with respect , especially when you don the uniform, even soldiers and police respect you. In the South , West and East you re personal non grata. Imagine secondary school student carving a coffer?

The secondary students in the North were not this violent they were respectful , you could send the errands, but the ones in the west hmm. The guy should think of redeploying before his skull evaporates.

He should thank his creator . This rural schools boys carry juju to the school. There are a lot of coppers that has been attacked with juju by this over grown secondary schools . Even several female coppers have been remote with this juju and they end up having sexual intercourse with this wayward kids. Some of them were brought up by their herbalists father.
