Marriage isn't a blessing ,especially if you're the type of guy who's stuck with a disrespectful female.

With the financial stress and headache? Coupled with the high cost of living. How is it sweet? How many men can afford marriage? Let's be realistic.

Is paying for eggs and surrogates, then nannies for the babies, cheaper for the man?

Yes.

Marriage is a blessing when you marry the right man who would support you, stand by you, spend on you, Love you, take good care of you and the kid. But marriage will be a curse if you mistakenly marry a broke struggling good for nothing man.

The bold words above is the bane of marriages in many Nigerian families. Some girls/ladies go into marriages as a source of wealth or some would say "poverty alleviation ".

You listed all the good things a man could do which requires "no money", but the only bad characteristic is being "broke".

You mean the type of man who thought of marriage as a way to achieve his lust for power and control, particularly by way of hypogamy? undecided

1. Men majorly embrace Hypogamy in order to source for themselves power and control over another human being in the name of marriage. So, why aren't the same women to take advantage of the potential poverty alleviation that goes with such unions for at least as long as they can have it? undecided

2. Of course! What other rational reason exits for a woman to enter into such a union where a man sits as god over her if not what he provides? Why blame women for stating the obvious. undecided

Hypogamy isn't what men do...and you know why? Most men are actually richer than their female counterparts, which in essence forces them to marry below their status .

1. Please stop. So the many unmarried rich women out there are what? Cow fodder? undecided

The vast majority of Nigerian men desire power and control in marriage and they know the only way they can get that is to marry down. That is why many of them will date successful women but marry down when it is time to settle down. This is not a secret at all. undecided

It is a blessing to some and not a blessing to some.

But I won't advice somebody who is not working to delve or even thin of marriage this time, things are extremely hard, high and difficult for some families, to the extent of regretting while they got married....

Marriage no be beans, but if you got a loving and hard working woman to support you, fear not...

You're talking rubbish as usual . Please where are the men that are marry the so called "rich women"? What's the statistics and can you name them? . Secondly , do men get to spend the money that women make ...? You keep deceiving yourself by eulogizing modern women(aka feminists)who actually have no value to a man . In fact, what value does a woman bring other than pussy and herself ?

2. So, now you want statistics, huh? Go on nairaland to see troves of posts from Nigerian men insisting it is better to marry down for their peace of mind or whatever when in actual fact, they do so in order that they can sit as gods over their women in marriage. undecided

3. So a man marrying a woman in the same economic class as he is at least is out of the question because the man cannot spend the money the woman makes? undecided

4. Modern women? This has been the culture in that country since the time of your ancestors — marry down in order to claim power and control over women in marriage. The men who go against the grain remain in the minority even to this day. undecided

Even those working aren't finding it easy either. The burden is more on the men than women.

Don't forget that Broke struggling ladies are the major reason men are shying away from marriage. Every man is trying to avoid this.

1. That is a stupid question to ask since you decide by your choice what the woman you want has to bring to the table — the same way women decide what their choice of men should bring to the table. if you want a woman who brings half of the finances to the table, then commonsense is that you would only want to date those women who are able to meet up to that standard you have in the relationship. It is nonsensical to ask this question while you blindly go around picking women who don't even measure up. undecided

2. Why does the modern woman or cardi B or Nicky Minaj have to dress like their grandmothers? Do you yourself dress as your ancestors did? Nonsense! undecided

3. Please stop spewing trash pretending you can hit wisdom by it. undecided

You're still talking like someone whose suffering from selective Amnesia, but
I'll still throw the question: grin

What do women bring to the table ?

Because it is obvious that men are :

1. The providers in the marriage

2. They pay the bills, rent and children's school fees

3. Proctect the kids and the women(even the ungrateful ones) from harm .

With all these , what do women actually bring to the table other than pussy (which is sold in a brothel for 2500)?

If you can't answer , then you'll perish in your father's house unmarried and bitter

Again, this is a very stupid question to ask a random person since no random person can meet your standard. You decide what your standard is and then you find dates that match that standard you have for yourself. undecided

Hypogamy is not of common sense but of foolishness for both men and women, so it makes no sense for a man to date hypogamously, then go out and complain that he is having to carry it all on his head — only a fool does that. undecided

I see you're eager to be stupid as usual. Anyway, I just sent you a new message. So kindly tell us here what women bring to the table? Especially now that society has given women the right to work and earn as their male counterparts grin

1. Do you think I engage in those nonsensical debates amongst your kind? undecided

2. Please visit commonsense abeg! There are women out there who are able to share all the responsibilities you listed and more. Osinachi, who is worm food today, did all you listed in her own marriage. So, again, the question is, why do you choose women who are not able to contribute only so you can come and beat your chest as if some gorilla that you carry it all for head? Who send you? undecided

3. Women have been doing it all for centuries... even before the time of your ancestors. So the major question remains, why do you date down, against commonsense, all so you can come to beat your chest like a gorilla that you do it all? Who send you? undecided
