The foolish people that brought APC to power should be on the queue as well. grin grin
It sweetens my heart.

Any wrong decision you make, you will be alive to suffer for it.

Some of them actually make their idiotic posts and comments while queuing for hours for fuel!... It beggars belief, I tell you!

I honestly don't know where the next president will start from in attempting to clear up APC and Buhari's generational mess!

Really??! You mean this level of national suffering is not worth raising attention and awareness?!!

Besides, he is even among the few flexing in the midst of this national economic crisis!

So, he is actually doing far more than seeking attention. Thank you.

seems like the price will be 500 per litre by the time Buhari leaves office, even at 300,350per litre ,queues go still dey, i guess they are trying to get us used to the scarcity so that when the subsidy is removed we wouid gotten used to the high price. only say many people go abandon their cars for house.

Buhari was so clueless. He said there was nothing like subsidy before office as president. Yet they are paying huge sums of money 8 years after.

Those siphoning our oil and money will still find another way to get these things even if full deregulation happens.

Corruption is endemic and fully supported by the government

We never see anything....if all the presidential candidates are saying , they will remove subsidy, which is quite good.....by then Nigerians should be ready to buy fuel for 500 and above.....

At least there would be no more smuggling, and no one will be giving free subsidy money, or taking money from other sectors to feed subsidy, and the subsidy monster will starve.

On the good side, people will finally invest in refineries.

At the end of the day, his brother is part of a party that was voted in to end fuel queues...which they have not done at all.

Almost like we are seeing what happened when PDP was in power..

So why won't macaroni boy be angry.?

It costs NNPC over N500 to bring in one liter of fuel...which it must sell to depot at N150 per liter.

Think about this, and you will understand why we have and always have had scarcity.

Kobonaire2023:
Algeria charges less for fuel than Nigeria...but they have a smaller population and produce more crude than we do, so they can afford it. Same for Angola.

^^^
Strange argument.

Petroleum pricing depends on demand and supply - and this supply and demand interaction depends on a lot more. Not just population size. To make population size the key independent variable in this equation is a grievous error.

Kobonaire2023:
But we have 200 million people, and priduce 1.52m barrels of crude a day....and yet we want to live like UAE that has 15million people and produces 2.4m barrles of crude a day?

What's the daily demand for petroleum products in Nigeria? What's the local supply? What's the foreign supply?

What's the cost of producing i.e. locally refining a litre of PMS in Nigeria today? Or last week? Or last year? No speculation please. Just give facts.

We were told then that the deregulation of AGO (automotive gas oil) pump prices would lead to new downstream sector investment, new refining capacity etc. This did not happen. AGO is still being imported 100% as far as I can tell.

The subsidy on imported PMS is unsustainable and has to go. We all agree on that.

....

Everything starts from the landing cost of fuel being above N500 and being sold at N180 at the pump.

Before, it was government selling the fuel below the cost of production to 'cushion the effect of high crude prices on fuel price'

Once you get that, you will understand why subsides are evil.

I know you believe subsides will cause hardship. I agree, but at the same time, keeping subsides is causing more hardship...just not in visible ways.
