hahahaha.
My brother and I went to early for 2 reasons among others.

1. You get "free" ride
2. To avoid 10 lashes of pain designed for late comers.

Wetin I need now na mentorship of person wey recently japa go canada thru skilled express entry route, If u know anybody like that abeg hala me.

My guy that sold everything including car, TV, household items, etc to japa enter UK for masters; He dey tell me e no easy. He said as student u only get to work menial jobs and the jobs aren't easy. Imagine having to work in a store like shoprite in East London acting as cashier, manager and supply chain manager . angry

I spoke with a friend in Canada, he said the easiest way to Canada is also through the education route. The skilled express entry takes a long while and there are no guarantee sef.

Said someone he knew took about 19 months for the him to get the Visa.

I understand that Nigeria is hard, but a lot of people need to take care of their health; bodily and mentally.

I left home 4:45, and queues are everywhere.

Like...people dey lodge for petrol stations now.

I thank God for not letting me subject myself to that kind of stress

Buhari should just go already. He has brought the abacha years back 101%.

The annoying part is the "I dont care" attitude. He's just lucky that PDP is useless opposition.

The country is currently on auto pilot.

Has there been any president in the history of Nigeria that was better than his predecessor?

Let's say, was Yar adua better than obj?

Was GEJ better than yaradua?

Was buhari better than GEJ?

I is any of the incoming president going to be better than buhari?

It is, but that's only if you would want to return back.
If you intend to stay there, then work visa is the most assured.

But even with that, COVID has fundamentally altered people's working patterns abroad. Developed countries are now outsourcing Labor to foreign countries for cheaper Labor.

My friend who studied law is actually earning from a totally different field, during COVID 19, he picked up some online skills, drop shipping, programming and project management.
He actually learnt this things just to kill time.

Today he works for a construction and consulting firm based in Florida while in Nigeria here. The company which isn't that big persay handles property documentation and minor reconstruction works. That is, if you seek necessary licenses, building permits, approved regulatory documents etc for your business in Florida, the firm helps you for fast tracked processing and proper guidance.

Normally or historically, this kind of consulting firm would have workers in an office in front of monitor screens doing their work but now the company used Upwork to outsource the job and my friend earns 5 dollars an hour for a 5 hour job. If it were American employees, the pay would be about 20 dollars an hour based on skill level.

So this my friend earns 20-25k every single day depending on exchange rate while working from home, meanwhile his earnings are totally untaxed. I swore to resign my job and pick up tech skills immediately. cheesy
IT is the future.

The problem with japa is it requires a proper foundation. A work based foundation. A junior colleague basically spent 5 to 6 years teaching himself coding all the while working as a mechanical engineer.

He is now in Canada as a software developer. We were taking today and he said he deliberately took his time because he did not want any transition to menial jobs. Etal.

Japa is not something you do in a year. It requires long term planning if you want to replicate or better your naija existence

Please do not forget to get your PVCs..

Please ensure that you are participating in this democratic process to enact change in the country.

Your PVCs are in your polling units right now. Go there and collect them sharp sharp. Abeg.

Dont resign your job to go into Tech. You can still start learning first while the job will be your buffer.

It's not easy getting that first job in Tech.

It is my belief that every single person in Nigeria has to pick up tech skills.
The prospect of even earning from the comfort of your home in Nigeria is just too good an opportunity for anyone. You earn in foreign currency which is not taxed and you convert it to something so worthwhile. And the good thing is, with tech skills your opportunities are not limited to any particular country.

You could be earning from any and every single continent.
