As a nigerian... I hate this country and wish it was like Ghana. Ghana is much safer...

Ghana is getting international acclaim... celebrities from all over the world are traveling there .... tourists from around the globe are coming to Accra for the Year of the Return. But Nigeria? we are still dealing with boko haram/iSWAP... why else do you think that Twitter put their headquarters for West Africa in Accra instead of Lagos?

Nigeria is not a safe country for investors and we are too tribalistic for that to change.

Why do you think most of our musicians travel to Ghana and UK instead of Nigeria to make music?

Ghana has several cities that are becoming a big hit across the world. (Kumasi for example). While Nigeria only has Lagos.....

and instead of People to vote for someone young to change Nigeria for the better.... They want to elect a 90 year old man or a man who wants to sell nigeria for 10 billion

This is perhaps the most I'll informed thread title I have seen in a while.

Do a little google research and you'll understand why Ghana respect and honour 9ja the big brother.

Every country has their own challenges although some issues are peculiar. We can work together towards growth

Ghana is not up to a state in Nigeria (with 36 states + FCT).. Lagos with the smallest land mass is bigger than Ghana.

The solution to Nigeria's insecurity problem is simple.. State and/or regional policing with restructuring. Waiting for someone at the centre to be giving orders and all, can't and won't solve the security challenges in a big country like Nigeria. This is not sixties for crying out loud, we need to wake up to realities.

Any governor crying insecurity is a goat and a thief cos they all have security votes (in billions) to secure their states but they are all keeping the money in their accounts. Federal can't police all at once.. States and Local govt. too should wake up and be proactive.

The funny thing is a lot of these African Americans are from nigeria descent but we nigeria can't tap into that as a way to bring them back and earn dollars from the tourism it will generate.

Ghana is making real moves to become the premier nation of West Africa through things like the Year of Return and attracting global billion dollar companies.

While Nigeria is STILL dealing with Boko Haram since 2002 and ISWAP.

Just like how Singapore a mere city can defeat Nigeria in a war, Ghana has already surpassed Nigeria currently.

Yeah right..

Ghana still depends on Nigeria's gas and opened borders to survive.

Forget all the paper economics and hype.. Ghanians still have a lot to learn from Nigeria.

All those companies and businesses running to Ghana are targeting Nigeria's population of over 200 million people to sell their goods and services. Just one policy of government will finish them all should Nigeria decide to place ban on imports (tho. difficult cos of ECOWAS treaty). We know the game that is playing, just than once a big brother, always a big brother.

Let Nigeria repeal the ECOWAS treaty she is signatory to and watch Ghana's economy and those of other smaller countries in West Africa fall like a pack of cards.

Nigeria remains the giant of Africa and big brother to Ghana and other smaller countries.

Nigeria will never ban imports due to ECOWAS so whats ur point? nigeria is too arrogant, while they are sleeping. other countries are surpassing them. when nigeria looks up, it will be like Somalia. tons of potential but a complete waste

Sooner or later, Nigeria will repeal the ECOWAS agreement cos we ain't benefiting from it.. We're just wasting Nigerian tax payers money to fund ECOWAS while other nationals take all the jobs.
Go to ECOWAS mission in Abuja and see foreigners everywhere. I've asked severally, what exactly is the point?

Look at UN for example with all the power to veto US holds there.. same should be the case with Nigeria and ECOWAS. Nigeria can't have a single vote just like Ghana in ECOWAS, it's absurd and counter-productive.

We need right thinking leaders to end the injustice once and for all. Let Nigeria take her rightful place among the comity of Nations.. I'm talking of G20 countries with likes of United States and Russia.

A society will be safe and better, if those in charge of authority take decisive actions against anyone constituting nuisance without being a bigot. A situation where a particular tribe is being pampered and given a tap on their wrist can't solve any security crisis. Everyone is just being so petty.

Ok and Fuel prices have more than doubled and 1 bag of rice is too costly for many nigerians. What happened to 1 naira to 1 dollar that Buhari promised in 2014? At least Ghana is doing something to show they have a future! What is nigeria doing that lets u think there will be a bright future?

SHUT UP. The Singaporean military is a strategic western ally receiving heavy military aid from the US, and can equally beat Portugal, Holland, South Africa, Mexico and many other nations.

See world military strength by nation: Nigeria ranks 36th while Ghana ranks 109th.
https://www.globalfirepower.com/countries-listing.php

As for GHANA, that is a country with the world's worst performing currency this year, and an inflation rate of 60% compared to Nigeria's 21%, and a country that for the last month has been going cap-in-hand to the IMF for a mere 3 billion dollars to bail out her tiny, mismanaged economy.

The last time Nigeria approached the IMF for a bailout loan was in the mid 1980s.

Nigeria has largely defeated Boko Haram, and its economy is 25 times the size of Ghana's.

Ghana is a little baby compared to Nigeria. Outside Accra there is virtually nothing. Kumasi is a glorified village, and the country has only one or two modern airports compared to Nigeria's more than 20.

Nigeria accounts for 75% of the entire West AfrIcan GDP, meaning the other 14 countries, including Ghana, account for the remaining 25%.

PLEASE, KNOW YOUR MATES. NIGERIA IS NOT ON YOUR LEVEL.

Really? Size is what matters? Yet if any investor had to choose between Nigeria and Ghana, he would go to Ghana with its smaller population for peace of mind

Did you just say that Nigeria has defeated Boko Haram? Wasn't the Abuja-Kaduna Trained bombed last year? Boko Haram has teamed up w Ansaru which is under Al-Qaeda, but you are saying that they are almost defeated!

Ghana is currently going under inflation, but they have shown through their multiple moves that they have a master plan. What has Nigeria shown to you that lets you know they have a Master Plan?

BTW Nigeria has only FIVE international airports while Ghana has 2. But Nigerias population is more than double its size! It should have at least 12 international airports if it was as forward thinking as Ghana.

...Ghana is not making any move...the president only know how to talk and borrow ...nothing else...a country with 30 million people and gold...still in massive debt..has one city that has a little developed side...the only thing going for Ghana is peace...no major conflict... bokoharam will sweep the nation in 10 days with their poor military...and even with the peace they are not achieving much .. foreigners own most of their economy...they are literally begging black Americans to come home to make some money from dem... Nigeria is not where it is suppose to be...but becoming like Ghana is going backwards ...and if you can't see development happening in Nigeria...you are probably living in a village

chai ghana is attracting world wide tourism and billion dolllar companies and you are saying that “ghana is begging black americans”… nigeria truly is a lost cause
so when dubai attracts people or qatar is that the same as begging people?

ANYWAY the number one thing a country can have is safety. So if Ghana has it and nigeria does.. we have to analyze. why has nigeria been dealing with boko haram since 2002 with no end in sight

Very well said.

Small country feeling big. Ghana are lucky they've not been targeted by terrorists (yet).

Their country would collapse immediately because they have no military to fight terrorists.

Do you know Ghana doesn't have even ONE fighter jet?

Even the Burkina Faso military is ranked higher than Ghana's.

Shut up and go research the news instead of lying.

Just last week the USA pledged 10 billion dollars investment in Nigeria's renewable energy power program, and is set to help build solar power plants and other such facilities across the country. Would they be doing that if Boko Haram was still an issue?

We're telling you the army has dealt harshly with Boko Haram and they now operate mostly in Niger, Mali, Cameroun etc, and you're here arguing. How do you know the situation in Nigeria sitting in Ghana? Idiot. Abeg gerrout of this place. Wetin you dey do here sef?

didn’t the USA order its diplomats to leave Nigeria due to insecurity?

Dunce, is insecurity necessarily Boko Haram?

The US issued a travel advisory warning in its typical hypocritical fashion.

America is a place where 70,000 people are shot dead each year by guns.

That is equivalent to 200 Boko Haram groups operating all at once.

But I'm sure you will jump at the opportunity to go there.

Just YESTERDAY a man went on rampage there, shooting 10 people dead, for no reason.

It's a very lawless, dangerous country that should be issuing travel warnings against ITSELF, not against other countries.

didn’t boko haram bomb the abuja kaduna train last year?

The incident happened A YEAR AGO. A lot has changed since then militarily. MUMU.

You are a stupid fool with no brain.

Murtala Muhammed airport can barely contain the influx of foreigners flocking to Nigeria on business.

Nigeria is Africa's biggest economy for a reason.

Sit there talking illiterate rubbish.
