it reminds me of when some of guys in my set ran a scam. a scam that somehow involved me

so i had this eraser that could erase biro ink very very finely. one of those things my dad was always buying back then. so someone borrowed it from me. i did not know at the time, but they had gotten the key to the course advisers office and were adjusting peoples GP in the master schedule

but the problem as is usual with these things is that rather than

1) limit it to a small subset of people
2) engage in careful score manipulation

they went all out. People with pass were elevated to 2.1. Obvious people. People who stood out in the lecturers gaze. of course the whole scheme fell apart. and the course advisers responded with a vengeance. that year everyone caught cheating in exams was expelled - after we had graduated.

the no 1 rule of real hacking is not to leave a trail so no one knows you've been in. just do small, minuscule manipulations here and there. things that if discovered will be waved aside as bugs or errors.
