RealPontif:No, you cannot for primary applicant. You should get your spouse to write the test too to increase your points by 5 points. For ICT occupations, you will really need any extra points you can get. If IELTS is not working, switch to PTE |

tunlex01: Thank you This is wonderful! Essentially, are you saying that as long as I'm married, that I must involve my spouse's Skill Assessments too (English Test) and that I cannot use mine alone to obtain success/positive assessment? OR Can I get assessed successfully solely based on my own credentials, move to australia and then arrange for my family to come over or must I leave with them at the same time? This area isn't as clear yet. |

tunlex01: Okay! Noted. Please do you have access to any Employment reference samples that you can send across? Also, the ACS skills guidelines and other related instructionals don't seem to be super specific on the exact list of documents needed for RPL. Please can you make that available as well? Thank you |

tunlex01: Thank you. I saw that there is a WhatsApp group for the PTE, are you one of the Admins? Can you help in that regard or with a link to the PTE or IELTS quality learning sites, content or center? |

Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 5:30am On Jan 22, 2023 |
RealPontif:Skill assessment is different from English test. You may or may not involve your spouse in English test or skill assessment. It depends on how many points you are able to garner on your own. You can move to Australia first and apply for subsequent entrant visa or partner visa for your family or you can all apply together, get visa but you move to Australia first and after you are settled, they can then join you. |

RealPontif:I’m not sure if there is any specific documents for RPL. Just the normal employment documents (payslips, reference letter, employment letter, pension statement, tax statement, salary bank statement) Reference letter sample https://www.nairaland.com/4478747/diy-guide-australian-permanent-resident/224#86250254 |

tunlex01: Thank you many times for all the clean responses. Perhaps, you're a substantive teacher, lecturer or administrator of some sort (not some Nigerian types of lecturers oh!). A substantive one with 'information administration skills and passion' ingrained in DNA. Please, where or how do you find someone's email address on this NL, so I can send you a mail? 1 Like |

I received a Positive Assessment from Vetassess today. I thought it was going to be a Certificate . It was just a letter. The funny part was that they removed 1 year from my work experience, and instead of 9 years, I was given 7.66 (as at Sept 2022). My question is can I still claim 8 yrs? I understand that 8 yrs can give 20 points. @ Tunlex, please how can I strategically cast my net for an ITA? Apply to Skillselect for EOI 189 only, then visit the States (perhaps 3 different States) and apply for ROI 190? separately with same email? 2 Likes |

My family is considering Australia, and about starting the process of migrating through the pr route A quick timeline Hubby has a HND in chemistry which from my research is classified as Chemistry Technician in Australia, which is part of the skill shortage list, and also falls under the visa 190 category. He has a cumulative salary work experience of about ten years in his field , but has stopped paid employment since 2018. My question is this; Can the work experience still count if a skill assessment is done by VETASSESS considering the fact that he has stopped working for about 5 years now? Tunlex01 please I would like a response from you, and every other knowledgeable person on this thread |

Saynoomore: From my many research on the subject of deduction and claiming points. You can go ahead and indicate (claim points) for the period that was deducted in your EOI, as long as you have enough documents to verify it. Besides, if you count from September till now. Even with the deduction, you’ve landed in 8years. 1 Like

I've been reading about WA, Please, does it mean that if your occupation is not on the WAMOL Schedule 1 or WASMOL Schedule 2, you cant apply to WA for nomination? Secondly, I dont think WA requires ROI. I've searched through the state's webpage and can't seem to find any link for their ROI. I guess they only require EOI. |

Jennifernl:For Vetassess, even though your spouse has over 10 years experience but since he has stopped working over 5 years ago, he's no longer eligible for Vetassess assessment for this occupation. Vetassess requires that the employment must be current within the last 5 years to assess the entire work experience.

Acquiredollars:There are different document requirements per assessing body. You will need to be specific about your profile and the occupation you are assessing for to get an appropriate response. Reading up this thread will give you an idea how to check your occupation and the assessing authority as well as their website for further questions. |

Acquiredollars:For ACS, payslips may not be mandatory but Pension and/or tax is/are compulsory. If you don't have either or both of them, don't waste money assessing with them |
