Greetings all, I am filling out applications for a Standard Visitor’s Visa. I am a student and have no source of income yet apart from little savings. My intention of visiting is to go help my elder sister who is expectant, hence she is sponsoring all my expenses including, flights, accommodation and living costs.

While filling this, i was asked to provide the personal funds i will be contributing to my trip, but i have also stated that this trip is being sponsored by my sister who is living in the UK and who i am visiting. I have been asked to provide supporting documents which includes my own personal bank statement.

I want to know how to go about it as all the funds for my trip is directly coming from sister. Thanks

For the part that requires how much you will be contributing towards the trip, you can put 0.00.

You should include your bank statement regardless of being fully sponsored. Your sponsor should provide all relevant documentation. Also on your end, ensure your account doesn’t have any discrepancies. As for how much you spend monthly, check your account monthly and see how much you spend. As a student, I don’t think you should spend more than 40k per month.

Lastly, you should attach proof you’re still studying and also a letter of permission from your school for you to travel.

Use the same way you paid for your visa.

Good day guys. I submitted visitor visa application for my nephew who is currently living with me. He is a minor. I am his guardian. When I was uploading document I saw this part that says ''studies evidence''. Is this part for people that want to go to UK for studies or I should upload his school results?

Also, the ''accommodation evidence''. What to upload here? Is it the accommodation in the UK or my rental lease agreement here in Nigeria.

1. Evidence that shows he's in school in Nigeria.

2. Evidence of where he will stay in the UK

Hello everyone... I need clarity on the following pls:

- how much will it cost to process a UK visitor visa in order to visit a family member that just graduated in UK?

- will there be charges for health coverage or any medical /TB test?

Yes of course, the uncle can.

First of all, how do you earn (what you do for a living) before you can be advised accordingly.

Thanks mr money, see how I explain in simple form.

Opening balance of ### was my saving from my salary

Note: why having ### as opening balance is because I purchased a car in march 1, 2022 at the rate of ###

Evidence: receipt of the purchase, car change of ownership affidavit , proof of ownership and plate number allocation.

Please any thing to add or miss

Thanks bro

Mrmoney90:

Actually, if the information you provided is straightforward, there will be really no need explaining both opening and closing balances. There is also no need explaining the car purchase as that part of the bank statement that shows that transaction wouldn’t be included in the 6 months bank statement. Your payslips are just fine. You can just say the opening balance is as a result of your salary earning. But if you still feel you want to say your opening balance got to 1.5m because you purchased a car, it’s still fine. And you can include the receipt of the purchase as proof. Your closing balance should be self explanatory as long as the information you provided(in terms of earnings and expenditures), matches the attached documentation.

Thanks bro

ijeshaoflondon:

The logic behind that is to divide the opening balance by the amount you declared as ur disposable income ... If you have 4,900,000 as your opening balance , u also receive 400k as salary and you spend 100k monthly, it means your disposable income is 300k...

Divide your opening bal of 4,900,000 by 300k ... It will give you the number of months you have worked and should declare that you have been saving money for the trip... even if na lie... give it to them atleast they dont have the staty of previous months...do they let you test...lol

I wanna write an exam in UK late April. I have the exam booking notification and exam payment receipt from the college but the college will send me a generic visa letter not earlier than February ending. I have every other required documents. I'm thinking of applying for a 2 years visa now without waiting for the visa letter from the college because the account i have built will be disrupted early February. This will further increase my explanations. I have traveled to UK recently.

Please house, What is your advice?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Amylew: 7:09pm On Jan 30, 2023
Mrmoney90:

Yes you must have a source of income as money do not just appear into ones account. Secondly, you can’t survive without money, so wherever the money is coming from is your source of income, either as gifts from family, work, business etc.

Now back to your refusal note. Your mother’s account is confusing.

Again, that opening balance and closing balance being thesame is always an issue. Doesn’t she spend? How much is her monthly expenditure? I don’t think that was stated as ECO didn’t mention it. You guys should try to give more info on that. Make the application more detailed.

Lastly, she can take pictures of herself in her business place, as well as receipts of payments she make for using the spot. Even if she has a sponsor, she still needs to show her bank statement. One important mistake you made was stating she will be contributing 500k towards her trip. She shouldn’t have said so anyways, because how can her sponsor be spending 4500 and she still needs to spend 500k of her money. Makes no sense. Shouldn’t have been stated regardless.

Thank you Bro.
God bless for the detailed comments.

You know how all this mothers are? Do you have money in your account? she said no. Who knew she even had savings reach 3m in the first place. 😂

My brother also didn’t tell me or even seek advice before he applied. How long is she stating they out 4 months 😂😂😂.
That’s how the went to put 550k as income without any prooof. Business no proof.

I am the one doing this new application and so will take all these you have said into account.
I reduced amount she’s contributing to 200k but with what you said I will just take it out entirely and put the major focus on the sponsor since has good documents to back up.

Leave it. Your NIN should be on your passport if you have the new passport, and even at that, your passport is ok

This is quite straightforward if you ask me. As long as no discrepancies in your account and everything flows accordingly, you’re good to go. 👍🏾

Enjoy your trip in advance

Please house, What is your advice?

You should try to write the school to know the situation with regards to the letter. Order than that, you can provide other proof that you have an exam to write (though the letter is most important). Or better yet, just apply for visit visa

Good. Just take your time in completing the application. As for her bank account, just ensure everything is perfect

What you meant by "total cost" is unclear to me. I filled out the application form by myself; therefore, visa fees and transportation fare to and from the biometrics center were the expenses I incurred.

I uploaded my documents by myself because I have a small printer at home that can make photocopies and scan documents.

Visa fees
Short-term 6 months - $129
Long-term 2 years - $484
Long-term 5 years. - $863
Long-term 10 years. - $1078
