Osimhen's goal was a beauty to behold. The poise, the power, the pace. I was shook in a very satisfying way.

Higher, higher, we need our players once more occupying the heights of European football

Mujtahida:

Since his u-17 days, I've always believed in him but he's now surpassing my belief. If only we have a good midfield, defense and goalkeeper.

Our attack is good for now but we are wobbly from the middle down. My fear is that if we don't get the balance now, later on, we might have a good defense or midfield but poor attack.

A good team is sweet through and through. All the right elements blending to create a perfect team.

You are right bro

haba tell yourself the truth I never undermined osimhen when he was at Lille but when he was with charleroi

Moving to Lille and performing immediately made me take him serious without hesitation

A striker I prayed United signed when he was about to leave Lille for Napoli then na wey I go still Dey bash? Nah!

Had doubts when he was at Wolfsburg, moved to Charleroi and was doing well but I wasn’t convinced but he shut me up when he earned a move to Lille and started scoring every week

Osimehn has been impressive this season but I am not getting carried away. The way that nonsense Ghanaians tied him down for 180 minutes is stipl unforgiveable. Like they say, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.. he must score 30 goals this season before a marquee club comes in for him..

ChrisKels, this Yira Sor, does he lay crosses? See we need a winger that can dribble and cross, a winger that has an instinctive feel for his striker such that telepathically he can lay good crosses for the striker.

I no like all this upgraded Pius Ikedia wey will bury their heads down and dribble to the touchline or to the goalpost while the attacker keeps shuffling his positioning until he's marked out.

Not necessarily that he's selfish oo but Osimhen will be the more relaxed between the two of them when they play for super eagles because Osimhen has an impressive goal record. Lookman still has to prove a point and that might make him selfish

The little I have seen of him, he knows how to raise his head up and when to release the ball. I can't say much about his crossing abilities, I will leave that for TheSuperNerd to answer.

lookman getting goals doesn’t mean he is a striker just that gasperini’s tactics gives him the freedom to roam around mostly as an inverted striker from the flanks

I don’t see him playing that way in the national team so you better cut your expectations to avoid wailing and trashing the guy here if he doesn’t give as much as he does in serie A

Lookman remains a winger/forward who can cut in from the flanks to score goals like salah, mane, cr7(before he was converted to a number 9),rashford,mbappe etc

By the way, Ighalo was no where near Osimhen of Lille. I no even wan talk about Martin's grin

Onyekuru hv never been a good player to me and I remove hand for em matter when he couldn’t strive at Monaco for globetrotting, from turkey to Belgium to Greece to turkey again 🤣

truth but every coach has his style

The way Mola will work in the super eagles is for jpes to reverse to 433 with the atalanta man given the license to cut in from the flank always and also be present in the opponents box when the team is attacking

Another formation is the 3 man defense

Joao Cancelo who shone in Pep's system last season and was clearly one of your most outstanding players is leaving Man City (and headed to Bayern).

Pep have no need for him anymore with Ake/Gomez on the left and Lewis/Walker on the right. Looks like Cancelo's more attacking/less defensive profile isn't needed anymore at City as Pep has found the profiles that require his current playing structure/approach to stay in shape both in offensive and defensive transitions. That's just me in summary by the way.

Would love to hear your take though, as it is your team. 😉

P.S: I still very much think Cancelo is a good Fullback who offers a unique profile and can stay effective in a system where he is allowed to venture offensively, contributing heavily to the 2nd and 3rd phases of play but would need the system to buffer for his defensive lapse.

I think we are experiencing another tactical switch and it has a lot to do with Rico Lewis.

I have always respected Joao Cancelo as a top quality full back. Very creative with the ball, overlaps with intensity and presses the right zones.

However, Rico Lewis brings something different, he controls the centre like a deep lying playmaker. Seems this is what Guardiola thinks it is key.

Nathan Ake is also insane with that too. Meaning, no room for Cancelo. Cancelo is not happy because he believes he should start regularly but the tide is changing.

Wish him the best but I believe in the passing game over all and we need more passers than runners.

Hard drug kor low drug ni. Unlike you, I am being very realistic and will never be deceived by this super eagles hope. It was the same hype they were hyping these guys until they were humbled by Ghana. I expect another imbalanced selection

He See's a cretin who never see anything good in home grown players.

These are several Born and Bred in England players that he keeps talking about with overhyping preference for;

Etebo
Ighalo
Awoniyi
Ndidi
Mikel B.
Dennis E.
Moses S.
Osayi B.
Iwobi
Obagoal

And his old time favourits were also born and bred in Peckham, London.

Yobo
Yakubu
Anichibe
Abbey G

He really dislikes Nigerian born players just the English born and bred players are his overwhelming bias for.
