Profgordons: This is really sound advice. I hope he sees it. I’d only add that they should pursue PR in hand first, do soft landing and then go to the UK to get that bridging experience. This is what my brother-in-law is currently doing. This man’s wife is even in a somewhat better position since she’s just starting her career and hasn’t specialized. My BIL was a specialist in Nigeria (pediatrics) but upon getting to the UK, his specialty is disregarded and he had to start over as a GP in the hospital’s pediatric department. 6 Likes |

Abercrome:Thanks for your input and experience, I’ll tell you why soft landing may not work, for her to get to the UK, she would need minimum of two years to prepare, pass both PLAB 1&2 exams then get a job. So she has two scenarios to play with: 1. Work, gain experience, apply for PR (Two Years at least from now) 2. Prepare for PLAB, go to the UK, do residency then apply for PR (At least 5-6 years from now) Question will then be which has an advantage? Scenario one will mean after two years from now she may be in Canada but cannot practice. She would need two to three years trying to get into the residence program then spend 4 years in the residence program at least. Before she can practice as a Medical Doctor in Canada is 8-9 years from now, I can bet a 100k on that. While she can achieve scenario two within 6 to 7 years…. If you guys are going to get married and probably have kids within those years, then be ready to add 1.5years for each child you intend to have! 2 Likes 1 Share |

Thank you very much. I saw email that somebody was trying to mesage me, when I tried to open it, it didn't go through, and I'm not used to this App that much. I'll try and check out I can accept your message now. Sorry about that. Well, thank you very much for the advise. Actually, I was in the school section trying to get advice on how to apply for MPH for her, before some people directed me here to get advise on PR. She's not planning to practise as a medical doctor anyway, she just want to work in the health sector, thats all. So, your second option, I would appreciate more advice on that. And she's very fluent in French. She studied the Medical degree for 8 years in pure French. Profgordons: |

Jhigan: Please check if her 1 year clinical experience qualifies as at least 1 year of continuous work experience according to IRCC for FSW, see page 1 for what counts as work experience e.g. it must be NOC TEER 0 to 3, paid, 30hours per week etc She should evaluate her medical degree with the Medical Council of Canada (which should be equivalent to a professional degree, same CRS points as MSc). Since she is fluent in both French & English, is below 30 yrs old, even with 1 yr work experience (if clinical experience passes this test) her CRS will likely be higher than 500 (hope my maths is correct) IF she can max out on both the TEF Canada and IELTS exams AND you (the spouse) can also evaluate a BSc and max out on IELTS. Play around with the CRS calculator or grid also on page 1 to verify. I implore you to study page 1 thoroughly. Her age and knowledge of French outweigh the lack of work experience. 3 Likes |

Thank you for your reply. I don't have a degree. I'm a self taught IT guy, working in IT industry. Though, I've started online degree course. Wanted to do it for myself when I first checked, but when I put into consideration the fact that I don't have degree, I'm 35 years old and don't speak French, I realised she has more chance than me. I know that I can pass IELTS very well, because, I've tried to study for it before, and tried questions. And I'm sure she can pass too, including the TEF(I've made her to check it out). Now, do you think we can still do something without me having degree? GraciousWords: |

What if we enter for the EE and and try to get PNP first from a state like say New Brunswick which is Billingual? I red New Brunswick PNP page, they said they give priority processing to Francophone applicants. I think it means they want to attract more French speakers. Just asking. Abercrome:

Jhigan: IMO she is a prime candidate for express entry if she gets max scores in both IELTS and TEF and you do the same with IELTS. Your lack of a BSc degree reduces the CRS by 8 points but nothing spoil, if her 1 year clinical work can count as work experience. She'd be wise to update the language she has the most CLB10s in as her first language when creating a profile. @ bold...I like your spirit....but don't underestimate IELTS, that exam has a way of disgracing scholars. Please study page 1...it'll become much clearer that this is completely doable. All the best! 2 Likes |

Good morning everyone. Please does WES have an email address for submission of transcripts? Or must it be via courier or mail? My school is charging £30 to send to WES via mail. If there’s an email I can use, kindly share with me. Thank you. |

Thank you very much. Thank you all for your help. I think I'll we will both start studying for the IELTS right away, because thats the only thing holding us back now. I'm sure by the time we finish studying for the IELTS and ready to sit the exam, we would have been done with her Transcripts evaluation with the Medical Council of Canada. Thank you. Please, if there are still advises for us, we will take it oo. Thank you. GraciousWords: |

Hello everyone, please I need some advise . I got admission to school in Canada for a PGD, September 2023 class. I plan to use school route to relocate myself and Family of 5. I have paid the Deposit Tuition fee and just got Letter of acceptance to go for my Visa application. However, I would like my Wife to join me so we can both work to payoff the school fees faster.l, and move the kids over. But I don't have enough funds to justify POF for both of us. My wife has MBA now and just wrote IELTS exam with 7.5 score. We have decided to hold on my study visa application and apply for PR using my Wife qualification who is also younger (37yrs) using the available Fund as POF. Here : If we wait till say May 2023, no positive update from embassy we drop the PR route, and pursue my school route and submit my application. Which was the original plan. Please is this a good plan ?? What am I missing |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Abercrome: 3:43pm On Feb 15, 2023 |
Jhigan: I don’t know anything about PNP so maybe others who went that route can help. But please give IELTS a try yourself so you boost her score. She’ll add you as “accompanying spouse” and you not having a degree or test of language will reduce her score. You self taught yourself IT so I believe you’re a driven person. Give IELTS your best ehn. |

The wait after submitting your PR application is not easy oo. Any time my personal email beeps, my heart goes “gbim gbim” only to see some marketing email from Konga or something. My mind keeps replaying my application details and I keep hoping I made no mistakes. It’s like I’ll temporarily delete Gmail from my phone so I only check it on PC. 2 Likes |

Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by cadno(m): 4:02pm On Feb 15, 2023 |
Profgordons: What I mean is, Instead of submitting documents for my study visa now, We use the documents/Fund available for POF for PR application. Then we wait from this February to May 2023. Since I have May to August window to process my study visa. So if PR update doesn't work out, we drop the PR application and apply for original plan of Study Visa . |

Zeewirld: Almost impossible, the people added daily are much so it will come down in more gradual steps. 480 would mean inviting about 12k people |
