I know you find this hard to believe.

If statistics were the beginning and end of player assessment.

There would be no need for a team of players and game analysts as well as video analysts. We would not be sending teams of scouts to watch players up close and personal. There would be no need to write up a player review.

We would simply jump on one of the plethora of site's purporting to carry out players analysis and statistics. Clubs would on that basis alone buy the players they want.

I know too many football club recruitment head's and officers, none of them look at stats alone.

There are other things mentality, work rate, discipline, adaptability, culture, skill sets, technical ability, physicality, pace , resilience, etc , etc.

When I talk about players with any depth 75% of the time it's players I've seen up close and personal.

So I am giving you a first hand deduction and view, sometimes that view is augmented with talking to the coaching staff associated with the player. On the odd occasion I may speak 🗣️ with his agent as well.

So how do you judge these things
1.work rate
2. Skill set
3. Pace
4. Technical ability
5. Physicality

Without data leading to statistics?
When a pro watches an event say a football match up close and personal, he generates data, stats interprete his raw data.

Culture, mentality, discipline and resilience are subjective variables which are difficult to analyse using data

So what exactly are you saying?
Baba bring out the data from your up "close and personal " encounters that shows how those Nigerian names you mentioned can control the midfield better than Nwakali like TheGoodjoe said....
There's no need for long Epistles!

TheSuperNerd supplies Nwakali stats every match day, you claim you watch those league one and league two players up close and personal... I say wow! That's even better!
So convince us, bring the damn data! Yours should even be more elaborate.

And please don't bring those boring screenshots from Wiki.. for once contribute to the richness of this thread by giving us a pro report from your" up close and personal journal" a peep into your professional world, enlighten us with some evidence not epistles

Except of course you're preaching a gospel you want us to accept by faith (the gospel according to Komekn grin)

All those expecting KC to be consistent are expecting him to score in every game till the season ends. Something even Halaand will not do. Just give Iheanacho a run of games. And in drought, have a little patience like its done for Vardy.

Vardy had been consistently CONSISTENT for a decade this is his first bad season in a decade , he has also had a few injuries and is still injured at 36 he is doing well.

KC had been consistently poor over past 6 seasons having only one good season in 2020/21, where he scored 12 in n the EPL ,Vardy scored 15 that season ,he scored 15 the season before that.

There had been no favouritism with Vardy just consistent continuous outstanding performance over a decade. So there is nothing like little patience.

'The stage is set for Kelechi Iheanacho to be Leicester City’s main man with the extent of his goal-getting efficiency now revealed.

Handed back-to-back Premier League starts for the first time this season, Iheanacho has scored two goals and set up three more in the wins over Aston Villa and Spurs. It means he has been on the scoresheet in every match he has started up front this season.

Delve deeper and the numbers show just how effective he has been in his Premier League career. Of players to have made at least 150 appearances in the division, Iheanacho has the 10th best goal involvement rate in its history. He is in superb company in the top 10 alongside legends of the league like Thierry Henry, Sergio Aguero, Eric Cantona, and Dider Drogba, as well as current stars Mo Salah and Harry Kane.'

Two facts Komekn and those constantly attacking Iheanacho are running away from are that Iheanacho isn't given enough game time, and he has performed well in other competitions for Leicester aside the premier league..He is Leicester 7th all time top scorer in the premier league era... Only Vardy, Madison and Barnes have more goals than him among current players in the team...

Yes you absolutely can.

Because football is a very short term career.

As a recruitment head you will come across literally thousands of so called promising players. If they cannot show the promise, there is no time to waste you simply look for those that are showing it.

If in the future he starts to show his promise, then you can go back to him.

But you’re always looking forward not much backwards, this is the harsh reality of football ⚽.
no football coach/agent/scout will write off an 18 years old who was the best in his age group just 2 years earlier. Bring an example if you have any

“You can’t come into the Premier League if you’re not training hard every day, it’s a league where you just can’t do it,” Rodgers said. “If he (Kelechi Iheanacho) was going through the motions in training then he wouldn’t have the impact that he does.

“It’s a real tribute to his professionalism and how hard he’s worked. Now we have the balance in the team that really highlights his qualities.”

To those who think Iheanacho is a lazy person should understand his form is not a fluke.

Facts

When you come off the bench and perform you earn the right to play, whether from the bench and or the start.

Actually most goals are scored in the second half of matches and statistically speaking 🗣️ you have a higher probability of scoring from the bench as opposed if you start.

That was proven, KC started against Liverpool but was largely ineffective, Ademola comes on as he goes off.

Ademola had immediate impact and within three minutes had scored the winning goal and got the MOTM award.

Football is not a mathematical equation that if you start a game you will definitely score.

Liverpool,, Liverpool, everytime. So it's only in the Liverpool, game that he was bad. You keep bringing up this narrative everytime. Let Rodgers give him a run of games, finish. He has played 2, scored 2 and set up 3. ,5 goal contributions. Right now he has earned the right to start 5 games at a stretch. Let them give him those games make we check something.

I bet the renting girls for teammates by Iheanacho is a big lie. But, you will believe it because of your dislike for Iheanacho.

Iheanacho worked very hard in life to get to where he is. He did not pick it on the road.

Also, we are yet to see a club manager complain of Iheanacho not working hard.

You don't get to outperform Salah, Harry Kane, Son and Mane in a month by being unserious.

Last week, Iheanacho won man of the match with Son and Harry Kane in a better team.

I know most of you hate him but stop pushing a false agenda against him.
Baba you too mature to dey label criticism as hate. Do you want everyone to live in kumbaya land praising every player? What's with the talk about hating on a player? This is just a cheap way of controlling the exchange of opinions here.

If you don't want to use stats perspective, then offer a report, video, analysis to show why you think the person is better. Not I saw. Which anyone can say.

He should show proof how he thinks the names above are better at controlling the midfield with short and long passes than Kelechi Nwakali.
