Awolowo did it. He almost won.
Yea, I'm aware, we should do it more. Seyi Makinde might have been a good option but man's pissed on whatever goodwill he had with this G5 madness.

Lol, I think Southerners should also consider floating a Christian-Christian ticket in future election cycles. A Christian from the South West and a Christian from the Middle-belt would be the perfect kite.

This will only be a fvck you APC,una father!!! move and not to win....Northern Muslim votes na your mate?

I think that was the very early stage of presidency when power hasn't really been glamorized using regions as a yardstick...

Just look out d msg a well versed Muslim was dishing to other Muslims about a C-M ticket..

He said and I quote "voting a corrupt Muslim is way better than voting in an infidel and this was aired for everyone to see.....

Comparing the Nigeria of today to that of Awolowo's is just plain deceit....

We dey over rate this Muslim votes, if you follow PO's campaign, man targeted the fissures up North, and marketed himself to the base that are likely to buy his candidacy. I believe with a campaign that had more financial backing, he might have done even more work up North. Besides, North Central is 50/50 christian Muslim, na why I suggest vice president from North Central and the president from South West. Jonathan won an election without serious votes from the North West/ North East.

I trust Nigeria political writers. They must have started drafting their piece. By next week when the defeat is still hot, you will start reading headlines like

What next for the Obedient movement.

Can the Obidient movement make a comeback in 2027

Why the Obedient movement should sustain its drive.

Obedient movement ; Lessons for future political movements

Is this the end for Peter Obi

You know what? I will read them all because of this Mbappe quote

We are just trying to downplay Obi's prowess up north..

There are Christians in d North who can give Obi some reasonable votes too....but it is beta it isn't put into consideration

How many politicians dey share kano and Kaduna?

If 2 million people vote in kano, how many will vote for tinubu, atiku, kwankwaso and Obi..

Then what will be the percentage difference between them in those Northern states as against obi and the rest in the SE and SS

Another angle. What I am yet to see discussed in all permutations is the extent to which rigging still has an impact on elections.

In other words, by how much percentage can a sitting Governor influence the outcome of elections in his state.

Say in the last election, they said no voting except by PVC card reader, then card reader started breaking down in remote locations all round the country and INEC allowed them to use paper ballot and write result, and some thugs just intimidate some polling booth, pay all agents and INEC staff on ground and write result. To what extent can Governors still "deliver" in modern elections using these means? If this is still significant, then LP has no hope at all.

Another problem with Buhari cash policy is violence level should be higher in this election. Whose cooperation you cannot buy with money will have to be bought with force and intimidation

Young Man, It would do you real good not to state what you have no clue about, seriously last time it was Buhari is a good leader blablabla; when you got pulled up on it; you where unable to come up with coherent explanation.

Is it in Naija can someone save on the 18k/30k minimum wage? Why would someone who is a professional in Nigeria go abroad and his aim would be to live on minimum wage? Am sure you must have read countless of stories of people who japaed using student route and within 1year are able to work to bring their family to join them...

Have you seen any of us abroad based respond to jibes to come back and enjoy Buhari/Tinubu nigeria??

You didn't follow the discussion, you just jumped in. Cherry picking at it finest . Check the comparison I responded to. How much is an average working class earning in Nigeria?

Besides I didn't even disagree entirely with what he said. I only said it depends.

Obi will lose the election woefully before 4pm on feb 25th and there's nothing Obituaries will do other than wail and cry as they have always done.

The plan is to lose woefully and cry they were rigged out. Headless bunch of misfits IPOB mob.

God Bless Incoming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu..
God Bless President Buhari…
God Bless Federal Republic of Nigeria..

You think Obi has the SS on lock down? PDP will go toe-to-toe with LP over here and for my state (Cross River), expect the APC to do very well because the PDP messed up with their primaries...Also, APC will do well in Bayelsa, Edo and Rivers...

How popular is LP party Senatorial and HOR candidates?

If Obi gets above 75% in any state, LP automatically takes the 3 senate seats and 80% HOR seats. Does that sound like something that can happen?

People that will vote Tinubu do not even like him but because his candidacy is intertwined with their favourite local politician, they will thumbprint for him.
Omo Bauchi state and a couple of other Northern states did something different in 2019, they voted PDP for Governor and APC for Senate and other party for HoR...It was the first time I observe such level of voter sophistication...

The Northerners are even more enlightened when it comes to voting than the South that's almost always one directional...

Accreditation fixes this problem, and after Osun's case, accreditation results will be uploaded to INEC after accreditation, and results from accreditation must tally with results from voting (as per not more), and network wey go allow for accreditation go allow for voting. If your results don't get transmitted to INEC servers, it's invalid, and results are supposed to be uploaded to servers at the polling unit.

Dem say we are obsessed with Peter Obi...... LMFAO! No be una leave Atiku matter leave and Kwankwaso [2 Northerners] dey fire all una arsenal at Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu every day and night?

No be una dey litter this thread with screenshots and links of Propaganda against Tinubu? No be una first dey attack Batists? Obsession indeed.

..... by the way, let me correct the Canopians; there is Labour Party before Obi, and there will still be Labour Party after Obi is humbled and perhaps return to PDP.

A Party without Structures can't win ordinary Council poll, Labour Party ruled Ondo State for 8yrs. Get it sink in your heads, Labour Party has Structures but Obi has absolutely NONE! Una movement is temporary, after 27th of this Month, it wll disappear like fart of a leprous witch.

I don’t know if people deliberately lie to themselves or they just like to write make-me-feel-good posts here and there to make them sound woke when in fact they are empty .

When u see someone tell u voters in some parts of the country are illiterates and do not know the difference between senatorial ballot, house of reps ballot and the presidential ballot (cos they are unlettered) , just know such people have never really participated in an election process .

In 2015 I was a presiding officer in one of the northern states and during training one of the most important things we were told is to ensure the voters are properly educated before the commencement of accreditation and to repeat same before voting commences . We should be fair to all parties , be seen as impartial and the people will take whatever results comes out of the polls.

There are 3 ballot boxes that will be displayed at the polling booth with 3 different colors for the purpose of easy identification. I can’t remember the colors for each election now but I know we had black , green and red; each representing a particular elective post.

As the presiding officer it was my duty to address the electorate in the morning about the modalities of the election, let them know the ballot papers will come in the three aforementioned colors and that they should place each ballot paper in the box that has the same color as the ballot paper. My polling unit is a double polling unit and I addressed both units in English/Pidgin/join and cut Hausa with the aid of my assistant pressing officers who are indigenes and interpreted everything I said in clear hausa to the electorate.

At the end of the day in my polling unit Buhari of APC won the presidential election by a landslide , the PDP guy won the senatorial election , while the APC house of reps candidates won his own election. It wasn’t rocket science , the people had things explained to them and they voted their choice as they do please.

You are not following.

I have said this election is not about parties. Its more individuals based voting.
Hence why alot of people will be voting across party lines. Hence why people like Obi have as much chance as a tinubu because people will vote apc for the HOR and senate and then Vote Obi as president.

Even in the SE and SS.

Alot of people in Lagos will vote Obi for president and vote PDP or APC sef for other positions.

Again not hard for you to see
You are right in 2015. APC party agents in Delta north, were telling voters to vote their candidate for for hor and okowa for governor. Due to ethnic affiliation.

Bauchi Presidential elections 2019

APC : 798,428
PDP : 209,313

Bauchi Senate elections

APC = 3 senate seats
Other Parties = 0 senate seat

Bauchi House of Representatives election
APC : 7 HOR seats
PDP : 1 HOR seat
PRP : 2 HOR seats

My point still stands! It is clear from this results from Bauchi state that APC won the state in the Presidential elections, won most seats in the Senate and also the HOR. It is always like this in many states. Although there are always a few exceptions.

Why are you adding Governorship to the debate?
