News from Benue shows Governor Samuel Ortom has lost his senatorial bid due to in-house fighting and anti-party activities. Ortom lost to the rival APC as the Jemgbah bloc (Ayu's area) voted massively against Ortom while Makurdi, Gwer West and Gwer East voted for the APC candidate. Ortom managed to do well only in Guma.
