Lagos and FCT numbers especially show that we have been overrating Atiku all this time. He's actually the one that should have moved aside for Obi.

Niggas are not waiting 1am to vote for Atiku Abubakar. Voter apathy is the likelier outcome

He wanted a free ride to Aso Rock on the back of energized Obi supporters. No wonder PDP minions spent more time facing Obi instead of their useless candidate. Won't be shocked if he decamped back to APC again. E no too get shame

i think ibime put it best

atiku is a lazy obj era politician who expects his dollars to the his politicking for him.

wike should never have been his vice [man is radioactive] , but if Atiku had been actively on ground in pdp politics these past 6 years, he could have managed wike much better than this.

as it is, everyone is just there for the dollars. esp as they know this is the mans last ride.

You keep looking at it the wrong way.

In a straight fight between Atiku and Tinubu who would have won each of these states?

Anambra
Enugu
Imo
Abia
Ebonyi
Delta
Edo
Rivers
Bayelsa

Tell me which ones Tinubu would have won and which ones Atiku would have won,

What this tells me is Atiku is a leech banking on SS/SE votes

Why is he entitled to votes from that geopolitical zone when his standing is shaky in the North? If he cannot win North Central states and deep North states why should the SS and SE back him?

This is the entitlement we're talking about. If he was winning in the North it's a different case but as we speak can you point 5 states in the North that is banker for Atiku?

Make he just dey go back him Dubai. This man has no real grassroots support

For a 'rookie' like Obi to be competing in FCT and Lagos on his own merits what now is the use of Atiku? He's a dinosaur as far as I'm concerned

I smiled cos I know they won't still be better off even with their candidate coasting to victory. The fact that they won't be getting paid for what they are doing is funny.

APC are quite strategic I give them that. I was wondering and quietly hoping Benue people would differentiate between President and Governor and split them but e be like them don jumble both elections up. Benue should have been easy win for Obi but now it's closer than it should be
This one pained me mostly. The APC dominated areas just jumbled everything up. Obi was supposed to clear Benue in a landslide

Atiku was PDP strongest choice but he should have retained Obi with a promise to do 4yrs and step down

That combo would have won this election

But whatever village people made him dump Obi and now fought G5 must be really strong

Atiku and his advisers were deluding themselves that they will inherit Buhari Northern votes since Buhari is no longer on the ballot.

That's where their miscalculations come in. I told a friend offline that even with Saraki, theres no way Atiku was going to beat Tinubu in Kwara for Presidential election and he was arguing. It was until Jarus tweeted that Tinubu might get as high as 75% from Kwara before he believe.

Atiku is overrated.

That is a different argument. What I was addressing is your claim that Obi did not help Tinubu.

Without Obi you and I know that Atiku defeats Tinubu in the SE in a landslide and also wins the SS.

To simplify. Obi took 11 states away from Atiku in the SS and SE.

Even most of Obi’s NC votes are Northern Christian votes that would have gone majorly to Atiku.

Kwankwaso completed the hatchet job by stripping Atiku of his NW PDP votes.

What must have surprised him (like it did many of us) was the strength of the Obi movement. Immediately Obi became a major factor Atiku’s hopes were doomed.

El Rufai being a bigot is debatable sir.. The insecurity in southern Kaduna don tire the guy too. The guy vex put southern Kaduna man in charge of security in Kaduna State. Guess what, the man in charge of security in Kaduna State is being hated by southern Kaduna people. His own people.
Ortom is not hated or radioactive. A lot of Nigerian governors no dey pay salary. That one is not news. Go and ask Osun state civil servants what their eyes are seeing or what their eyes saw for Oyetola hand.

Ortom will win his district with minimal fuss. Benue people respect him for the courage he handled the Fulani Herdsmen crisis with

The same El Rufai that imposed Muslim Muslim candidate on a cosmopolitan city and state like Kaduna? El Rufai na bigot. And this is coming from someone that does not use that word loosely. There's a reason Southern Kaduna residents are voting Obi enmasse and don't tell me it's because of Datti

I was watching Arise live and the Kano CP's comments have been serious taken out of context.

Prior to being questioned, that Arise TV correspondent had noted children running around in the PU and then debated with the guys in the studio whether children should have even been allowed to be around the PUs .

About an hour later, the correspondent asked the KCP about whether children should be around. KCP who obviously doesn't knkw what Arise TV correspondent and Panel were discussing prior, assumes that he means Children have been seen VOTING, and of course he points out that its not for him to determine who gets a PVC, and points to INEC, arguing that if you see any maltina bottle holding PVC, it might be a genetic disorder.

Kano CP and Arise Journalist were talking at cross purposes. They weren't talking about the same thing.

spoiler

A “spoiler” is a candidate who has no chance of winning, but whose candidacy still impacts the outcome of the election.

A spoiler candidate draws votes away from one of the major parties, tipping the balance in favor of the other party.

In the same way, a spoiler party is a party which seems designed to take votes away from one or the other of the major parties, thereby spoiling that party’s chance to win the election.

Supporters of spoiler candidates describe them as idealists seeking to introduce big new ideas; in recent years, left-leaning candidates like Bernie Sanders and Jill Stein have been described as spoiler candidates. But their critics say that their candidacy sometimes harms the very causes they champion, by anding victory to the opposing party.

Critics of the U.S. electoral system have argued that spoiler candidates are inevitable in our system:

The current system does not ensure that the majority rules. Candidates can win elections with less than a majority of the vote. This creates “spoilers” – candidates who cannot win themselves but who get enough votes to throw the election to some other candidate who is favored by a minority. It also “spoils” the better debate and higher voter participation we would have with more attention paid to worthy independent candidacies.
