Wailing unlimited.

What a fallacious conclusion to assume that the voting pattern would be similar if PDP and LP presented a united front in Atiku or Obi?

If they presented Atiku, he wouldn't get most of the votes that went to Obi. A significant part of those votes, especially in the South would have gone to BAT.

If they presented Obi, BAT will have won since Sunday because he would get a clean sweep of the northern states.

Well, I am not a wailer, but I do like wearing black...so...

Here is a thought. 13.1 million people did not vote for APC, out of the 21 m who did vote.

If those 13.1 million people had voted for one party, APC would have been voted out. But because they voted for 3 different parties, the votes got divided, and APC won the election.

The truth is, APC lost this election. Most Nigerians did not vote for them, nor do they like them. But they won because Atiku and Peter Obi and Kwankwaso and Wike could not at the very least compromise with each other.

That is the sad cold truth. A disunited opposition loses the election.

Like I said, APC did not win this election, the opposition lost it.
Stop crying Abegg..

You misunderstood my post.. in a free and fair election Tinubu would never even come close to first.

People voted massively for LP in Lagos making it too hard for them to rig
yes people voted massively but note this Obi's VP choice only had little impact if not negligible self I don't know the essence of what Kwankwaso did self Kwankwaso would have really pummelled Obi to that seat because Obi just needed to secure at least 4-6 states in the North to clinch this eitherway Obi gave them a run for their money despite not using money to woo people to his side.

I do not believe that only 21 million people voted in what was supposed to be Nigeria's most contested election. An election that had 10 million new registered voters yet fewer people voted than 4 years ago. I believe the election was rigged. It's not about who voted for who

No, I am not in the PDP and I have no fondness for them, or for APC even or for LP.

But I do find it interesting that when the ruling party performs badly in governance, yet wins elections, it is usually....I have yet to be proven wrong....because the opposition is divided.

Which is kind of my point...and which is a point that Buhari learned after he lost for the third time in 2011.

But come to think about it, Obi can never defeat Tinubu even if they conduct the elections 10times more, the fact is Obi is from a tribe that not every body is comfortable with. The nature and acts.
Even if they use religion and age to back up and convince the masses, Tinubu will still defeat any one so far they are from the 5igbo states.

Still, APC did not win a majority of the votes. That;s something they should take into consideration, and hopefully, they will do better over the next 4 years. For all our sakes.

Do you even understand what you posted here??

How many people voted against Peter Obi?
How many people voted against Atiku?
How many people voted against Kwankwaso?

And how can they add the results since you stated that they're 3 different political parties?

The Atiku, Obi and Kwankwaso you mentioned all belong to different parties.

@AbakalikiPress, I like your counterintuition, or should I say, counterjuxtaposition. What he reeled out is just a hurried, instinctual and invidious appraisal of the election outcomes.

Politics is about numbers. In Nigeria, you need to consider demographic dynamics, cultural affiliations or attachments and inter-cultural dynamics. All these fell in place for Tinubu.

Yes, it was very sectional from the get go. People largely voted for their own. But Tinubu was able to convince the North to follow him. I think the votes from the North largely clinched it for him. In the final analysis, it's the cumulative number of votes that counted and not whether some didn't vote for him. When those didn't vote for him, others did. This is simple logic.

God knows why obi did not try and make a deal with atiku

I know this might defeat the purpose of him being a honest man not cutting deals like most politicians do but at least you get there first and fix this country

This country is a big mess

Nigeria politics is simply Party politics

Even though I wanted obi to win so badly please God give Tinubu the spirit to fix this country

I wonder why someone who saw shege between 2015-2023 under an APC GOVT still went to the ballpt box and still thumbprinted and voted the same APC again

The level of illiteracy in Nigeria doesn't help either

We are in the 21st century and still no 24/7 electricity

Anyway election has finished time to continue to build what's left of the country

God help tinubu cos if this man makes Nigeria worse than it is right now then its extremely sad cos it was totally unavoidable

Those that voted for another candidate in Kano would have more likely voted Tinubu as an alternative.

Those that voted Atiku are not people interested in his history or the plans he has for the nation. They look at his religion and tribe. They would have voted for the candidate that shared closer similarities. That’s not Peter Obi.

You are suprisingly correct.
