Ibadan is super chill, I swear...stayed there a couple of days and I wan seriously reason relocating. It's urban enough, okay business city, quiet and free from traffic. Another nice city I've been to is Calabar, but from my assessment it's struggling economically, not enough businesses.
Calabarrrr…. Been there and love it but like you said, not sure about the economy

Calabar with all their trees, underground drainage and I reckon the Government provides water for them.

People need to travel see other places grin

Dayo has finally brought full scale tribal war to this thread.

He has finally achieved his aim!!!

I kept warning and warning about this and people said I was raising false alarm.

Just look at what that tribal devil has done to this place. Dividing us along tribal lines..
Mtchew!
There is a Yoruba saying that an executioner won’t want a sword to be swung over his head, akin to some of your tribalism attacks.

A001:

The key issue here is GRV's inability to speak Yoruba fluently. Kemi Adeosun didn't serve as governor of any Yoruba state.

The important thing is not him marrying a Fulani or Igbira or Igbo or having an Igbo mum, if you want to serve as governor in a state, you need to be able to speak the language of the people you want to lead.

He can be a Chinedu. It doesn't matter. The main thing is being able to speak the language fluently.

Those Nigerians that won electoral posts in foreign countries understand the language of the people they want to serve.

The local language is a key requirement in serving as governor in a state.

I know many Yorubas (myself inclusive) that supported Obi despite the fact that he's an Igbo. He wants to lead Nigeria, not an Igbo state, and he's qualified to lead the country.

However, GRV isn't qualified to govern a people he doesn't understand their language.

I always see people that can't speak their native language as a disgrace.
GRV na just butty wey dem no quick teach language. It happens. I was over 20 before I picked up Yoruba somewhat fluently. And i be borderline ajepako. How much more person wey train for foreign. Give the man some grace. What's clear is he's a proper Lagosian not the rascals currently in charge now. Let's face the real issues of governance abeg

Ability to speak language doesn't mean you can't still be a useless governor

There's areas so clean if you took pictures and told someone you were in an American suburb they would believe. They've been blessed with some really good governors

Delta? You are my Immediate brother competing with me for oil production which feeds these our geopolitical relatives enough to chestbeat and threaten to chase out our cousins during any argument.

Remind this people who the real accomodators are. Their sons are even in the NDDC and Oil ans Gas Free Zone Commissions created for us but we aren't chasing them out.

Let them keep the tribalism up. At least for the Oil and Gas Free Zone headquartered in Onne and NDDC in Port Harcourt, we'd get answers for those real soon.

Continue spreading hatred.

Abuja is another interesting place to live...Calabar and Abuja are very green cities, like if there are cities to raise a family in a way that's properly enjoyable and chill I'd probably pick Abuja then Calabar. Like seeing people sitting underneath trees surrounded by well-manicured grasses during the day was one culture shock I experienced when I visited Calabar, and Abuja is another city that's just like that.

Back to back for years, Akwa Ibom has been the cleanest state in Nigeria. By 2024, we'd be completely off the naitonal grid as we have our own power-producing company and have scaled to produce 768MW of electricity since 2021.

Well-tarred roads only Abuja can boast of.

Good electricity supply.

Tech city. Perfect for remote workers.

The most secure and peaceful state in Nigeria.

Best ease of doing business in the whole of Southern Nigeria and number 4 as whole.

Great night life.

Akwa Ibom is built as a tourist city. Every Governor must follow a blueprint.

I have all of these on offer and I'd settle for the madness and insecurity of Lagos? God forbid!

The Calabar you knew is dead. The current governor screwed everything up. Calabar is now dirty and unsafe. Withdrawing money from ATM after 5PM is at your own risk.

Uyo and Eket in Akwa Ibom are what you knew Calabar as. Although Eket is more expensive because of the oil companies around and expatriates living there. Ibeno with the longest natural beach in West Africa is close to Eket and is the closest you'd get to a Carribean-esque scenery in Nigeria.

Why impose suffering on people? I wonder what peter obi supporters will say about this cashless policy now, considering they supported it initially because they thought it'll make obi win.

I'm in pH right now, the cash scarcity is very serious in my area. To make matters worse transfers are hanging.

The APC and the PDP candidates are both good men. Although the PDP candidate is a stooge and I like the APC guy who is a self-made young billionaire and employer of labour.

Also, in Akwa Ibom politics, if you ever have a tag as a violent person or cultist, your politcal career is over. That's what schemed the YPP Governorship candidate out who's a Senator and the Chairman of the Senate Petroleum Committee.

A Wike can never happen in Akwa Ibom politics. And regardless of your campaigns, you must follow the Akwa Ibom 30 years blueprint set by the ex Governor Victor Attah in 1999.
Whether APC, PDP, or LP, only that blueprint. So I already know key projects the new governor would handle even before he emerges.

Yes, we are blessed.
