Govt60: This is a good development. We should create another Lagos in South East so others can stop telling us to 'Go Back Home' Rich Igbo people should bring strategic and coordinated developments to South East. Imo State should be Igbo Tourism Haven Anambra State Should be Igbo Industrial Haven Abia State Should be Igbo Commercial Haven Ebonyi State should be Igbo Agro Industrial Haven Enugu State should be Igbo Service Industry Haven I wish we have a thinking, apolitical and respectable Ohaneze that could coordinate this development strategy with governors for implementation. In future, Alaigbo will ensure to elect governors from one political platform such as the new LP or APGA so they can have one Igbocentric voice without distraction from parties that do not have Igbo interest at heart. 4 Likes 1 Share |

objpmb: It won't work like that, one place should be developed very well to compete with Lagos, you can't scatter development like This and get good results. Concentrate on getting Owerri roads asphalted, widened and sweet the roads, get it right and finish those skyline Okorocha Started that was abandoned, concentrate on one place to create a new Morden city with few skylines and see it spread all over the adjoining towns. 3 Likes |

Despacito1: You are like: let Britain concentrate on developing London first to touch skyline with broad streets, but leave Manchester, Birmingham, Coventry, etc to wait. Primitive greed. Walahi, there are too many semi-illiterates on Imo state issues. So if they make you Imo gov tomorrow, you will begin to broaden Owerri streets and build Owerri to touch skyline, while other cities and rural areas of Imo state wait. You are talking bullshitt. Your talk can be good talk to any equally semi-literate governor in Imo state. 2 Likes |

Amah70: It's quite unfortunate that many Nairalanders don't make their points without insulting people, but it's a norm we have to live with here. Like I tell those who care to listen, "Education without character is a threat to the society." The truth is, I agree with the guy you quoted completely. You need to build a decent city that will attract the kind of people you need in your state. Those people you want to live and invest in your state should see a befitting city to live in. We should all be worried that many returnees of Igbo extraction prefer to live in Lagos, Abuja or Port Harcourt to living in the East. They are not stupid; they have their reason for doing that. The answer is simple - those places have the kind of sophisticated people, services, clubs, etc. they used to enjoy where they come from. While it is good to build a world-class city that offers all the services that anyone can possibly think of, government shouldn't entirely neglect the rural areas to avoid rural-to-urban-area migration. |

SmartPolician: Stop hiding under the word state in Imo state to sell a development system strange to the rest of the world. It's like me suggesting that we use IMSG funds to first build Orlu to touch the skyline for investors to have a beautiful city in Imo state, let Owerri wait by the way. I will not subscribe to that. No truly educated people will subscribe to that. Education that spews primitive development ideas and falsehood in Imo state is as good as, if not worse, than Education without character. 2 Likes |

SmartPolician: You don't see yourself as a smart thief, unarguably from Owerri like Dispatico? How can any saner person think of building up only one place in a state but leave out other places? It's 47 years, except Mbakwe era, when foolish governors have been building up Owerri. What do we have? Ghettos surrounding old and New Owerri. Ghettos without any social amenities, but concrete buildings. If Imo had been having good governors, places like Orlu, Okigwe Oguta etc should have been modern cities by now for investors. 2 Likes |

ProudImolite: Uzodinma builds only urban and rural roads in and around Owerri, and roads linking Owerri to other parts of Imo state. Because he sees himself as not from Orlu, he can't do anything urban devt. here; therefore, he can't do anything outside Owerri area. Poverty of intelligence. 2 Likes |

Imo state is very unsafe and a state of emergency should be declared there https://www.nairaland.com/7603477/gunmen-set-imo-house-assembly The country home of the People's Democratic Party candidate for the state House of Assembly, Ifeanyi Ozoemena, was on Tuesday, March 7, set ablaze in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State, IGBERETV reports. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Owerriboi: 5:58pm On Mar 09, 2023 |
Frustrated envious slow poke and vagabond, the guy told you the bitter truth. All the roads in Owerri and imo state at large are dilapidated, this is why most imo indigenes prefer to live in Anambra because it has good infrastructures. . Owerri and Aba are the two worst towns in igboland and southern Nigeria at large. Onitsha is like America compare to Owerri and Aba. I am from imo, but truth be told, Owerri is such a glorified rural area. Even though aba is equally a slum, but aba looks better than Owerri. At least aba now has a functioning flyover but Owerri has none. Grgton: 1 Like |

I am from mbaise imo state, but truth be told, Onitsha is like America compare to Owerri and aba. This is why most imo indigenes prefer to live and invest in Onitsha Though aba is bad, but it has overtaken Owerri which is still largely a glorified village Kingsbuchi: 1 Like |

The argument should be between the two worst towns in southern Nigeria, which are Aba and Owerri. Because Onitsha is like America compare to those backward shithole towns. Incidentally, imo and abia are equally the two worst and most backward states in southern Grgton: 1 Like |

Lol accept the simple truth. The reason you are here crying is because you are aware that Owerri is a glorified village and it is paining you, no wonder you keep coming here to cry. Listen, there's a reason millions of imo indigenes prefer to live in Onitsha, it is because Owerri is a village. Imo is yet to have a befitting city they can be proud of. It is not trolling but being sincere with you As bad as aba is, it is still better than Owerri. It is shameful really lol Onitsha on the other hand is like America compare to Owerri and aba. Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Grgt0n: 7:43pm On Mar 09, 2023 |
Owerri is the worst state capital in southern Nigeria. There is a reason most imo indigenes prefer to live in Onitsha, Enugu and Awka. Imo state is yet to have a befitting signature city where other igbos can relocate to. Most imo indigenes are either running to Onitsha or Enugu or Awka and even Abakaliki to live. No one comes to live in Owerri. Why? Onitsha, Enugu, Awka, Abakaliki are the best igbo cities. Owerri and Aba are chaotic disjointed slums and shanties. Grgton:
