Odili started everything. My people were in opposition and suffered the worst of it. That's when Ateke was brought in by Odili and Sekibo to wreak havoc. Ateke tied one girl in my village to flying boat and dragged her across the water till she drowned. Some villages were burned to the ground including mine. I lost a cousin fighting against Ateke boys. In that same battle, Asari joined our side and Ateke was on ropes, but Odili delivered military and guns to Ateke side to finish the story.

I'm sorry to hear this. And the seeds sown in the man's ambition have consumed and cursed us all.

@seankafor, this is reality. Odili is sitting pretty, his wife is a retired judge, no one has stormed into his house Bruce Lee style shouting you kill my father now I kill you.

It is fked up, but it is the world we live in.

what I noticed is this, if you don't carry out your revenge as it's hot, as time goes, it'd all fade away..

During my sec school, some senior students and auxillaries who used to flog the hell out of us, we do tell them or sometimes say in our mind, "anytime I see you outside these schools, I'll treat your fúckup" but as tome goes, when we actually meets these people that dealt with us outside, we usually greet them and sometimes give them some accolades as senior men Dem be..

Most of past leaders don't have water tight security, obj, odili, and many others, it'd be much easier now carrying out revenge on them than when they were in power.. but these aggrieved, most of them have either moved on and left everything to God..

It is what It is..

What are some of the simple solutions that can be implemented that can resolve traffic for example in Lagos

Put in mind the constraints and peculiarities of Lagos. Land mass, water logging, population congestion and future increase in population

GRV isn't against building bridges at all.
GloriousGbola:

For civil service states, GRVs solutions may work. For lagos state - they have been building road infrastructure since the 80s and the population keeps overtaking it.

Build one bridge in a civil service state capital and you have sorted traffic for the next 10 years

Unless there is a viable alternative to road transport, this will continue imho

I dey always pay close attention whenever you start talking about happenings in SS because any reader can deduce it is informed with a lot of back stories. I am sorry about the killings that have happened in your community. There is no value for life in Nigeria and that is what scares me the most about the country.

Those ones are insensitive trolls with sawdust in their skull.

The news itself is even my concern; a commercial bus driving against traffic causing death of an innocent motorist. Every blessed day these Yellow danfo buses always drive against traffic on Carter bridge from the Idumota end of the bridge to the roundabout that goes to Iddo. They do this cos they don't want to go and turn . As early as 6.15am sef when the day is not yet bright u will see them facing u with their full light not working o.

Yet there's a police armored personnel carrier and police patrol car stationed on the very close to where they start the one-way journey. I honestly don't know how many people needs to lose their lives before the police and other security agencies clamp down on these danfo people.

One VIO guy on radio said that the reason why they don't clamp down on Danfos is because it is political.

Arrest them, and you’ll have Alausa to answer to

Most of his talks are mere soundbites with better articulation. That are not really realistic

Lets start from Point 1
The first link about the 4th mainland vs building roads from Epe to Ikorodu and Epe to VI. Anyone who has plied those roads. Can you help me with the distances From Ikorodu to Epe, then Epe to VI. Combine both distances and even use the best case scenario of minimal traffic and see how much miles you need to cover every morning just because you are trying to go around the water body when you can build a bridge over it and shave many KMs. Now consider a 6lane road from Ikorodu to Epe and Epe to VI in realistic traffic and see how soon it becomes a night mare
According to googlemaps the distance between Epe and Ikorodu is 70km and Epe to VI is 60km. I don't know if these are exact but this is over 130km to travel one way. 260km both ways In best traffic and you think this is a realistic solution for daily commuting even without traffic

Watching the 2nd link. There is a reason why People come to Lagos Central (VI Lekki and Ikoyi) to work. That is similar everywhere in the world there is usually a downtown where the economic activity is and people go to downtown to work. In VI companies choose to come to that area because of the synergy with other companies, e.g the head office of many multinationals are located there so banks, consulting companies, and many servicing companies will want to be there vs being located in Badagry or Ojota that is far

3rd link, He talks about world bank benchmark for roads, I hope he is doing this in relation to cities like Lagos, where its as congested and coastal as well. I have seen someone a former Lagos candidate compare Lagos rail with Ethiopia AdisAbaba which is on dry land

Regarding the BRT lanes, Will opening it up not create more congestion on those BRT lanes?

4th link - Is there Iju works in Lagos Island. Talking about wetlands and preservation. We have once again a very small land which normally should house about 2M people housing 20M people. Its cool to say stuffs like preserving certain lands and care about climate change, not when you have 20M with an additional 10K coming in almost every week to live permanently

Anyone who lives in Lagos and face these challenges can rebut any of these.

Here you go!

KOGI STATE GOVERNMENT

PRESS STATEMENT

PERSONS AND BUSINESSES THAT REJECT OLD NAIRA NOTES WILL BE APPREHENDED AND PROSECUTED

1. We congratulate Nigerians on the historic ruling of the Supreme Court, the highest court in Nigeria, to the effect that both the old and new naira notes remain legal tenders until December 31 , 2023 when the old notes will cease to be legal tender. What this means is that both the old and new naira notes can be accepted for the purpose of transacting business till the end of this year.

2. The reason the Kogi State Government joined other State Governments in the country to pursue the case was to ease the hardship occasioned by the unavailability of the new naira notes, which the court fully granted.

3. It is therefore unacceptable that some persons and businesses will continue to reject the use of the old naira notes, even after the court judgement validating their use. Rejecting the old naira notes is a clear disobedience of the Supreme Court ruling.

4. Anyone who rejects the old naira notes should be reported to security and government authorities for immediate action. Also, banks that refuse to accept old naira deposits shall be sealed as the State Government will not accommodate financial institutions that willfully disobey court orders, moreso, the orders of the highest court in Nigeria.

5. Kogites should note that since the banks are issuing the old naira notes, they are bound to also receive it. We cannot continue to kill our economy after the Supreme Court has granted us freedom. The State Government has therefore set up a high-powered Committee to ensure full adherence and compliance to the ruling of the Supreme Court.

6. Members of the Committee are the Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning; Commissioner for Information and Communications; Commissioner for Commerce and Industry; the State Security Adviser and the Managing Director, Kogi Enterprise Development Agency. The Committee is to ensure that our people take full benefits of the Supreme Court ruling on the old naira notes and ease the hardship they have been subjected to by the policy that brought so much hardship to the people.

Kingsley Femi Fanwo
Hon. Commissioner for Information and Communications

Look at this image below and tell me that GRV is not on weed regarding the 4th mainland bridge being unnecessary

Look at the distance covered in 130Km for one way travel, multiply by 2 on a daily basis

Without traffic, doing an average of 70km per hour you will spend over 2hrs

Now compare to the 4th mainland bridge 38km which will take you about 35mins

Most Butter that either grew up or have experience living in the SS are as tough as nail mentally and are passionate about their community despite it's issues. I have a friend from a rich and popular SS family in Delta State and despite his affluent upbringing, this guy is grounded when it comes to his community.

He is fearless and he tells me back stories like Ibime does about guys like "Government" including personal encounters with them when they visit with his dad. Dude doesn't spend much time in Yankee because he wants to be in his community.

This 4th mainland bridge cost is not just you dropping planks over gutter to construct a Desmond Elliott masterpiece, you have to make the access roads to the bridge itself

Now imagine on a regular morning best case scenario it's 2hrs. Now factor things like rains, unruly drivers, and having to pass through major towns like Ikorodu Epe, Ibeju where more people will join the traffic and create more traffic so we are looking at about 3hrs drive one way to work every morning and 3hrs back at night

This is supposed to be a workable solution. You see why Monday morning quarterbacks have the easiest career because you don't have to get on the field. Just type it on 120 word limit Twitter and there you have the solution that Accenture, McKinsey, top construction companies charge millions to get.
